Pink might've been too close to Raph's red or Don's purple. Yellow had already been given to Splinter's blip on Don's tracking system. I would've gone with white for her. I liked her because she was misunderstood like me. Ziva from NCIS reminded me of her too.
What the next mutation meant to call her was a Shaman because a Shinobi and Ninja are the same thing. Glad the comics brought her back and revamped the character.
Purely for the visual indicator of the female figure. Like most other female cartoon animals. Doesn’t make any biological sense, but that’s par for course.
@@BlerdWithoutFearagreement, pretty sure that even female turtles don't have those, definitely understandable due to the anatomy of a human with a turtle combined but adding boobs was genuinely still unnecessary especially to consider that she was basically naked.
The problem with Venus was never that she was a female turtle, but that she was a damn Mary Sue. Literally the first thing she did on the show was to one-shot Shredder - with telepathy! That was some fan-fiction-grade bullshit.
Glad Venius came back into the world of TMNT. She was the least problematic character from Next Mutation, which was terrible but not because of her inclusion.
I wonder if any reboots is gonna include her to be honest, but mostly not considering she's not that well-known and often mistaken as an original character and not really that different from Mikey which would be what I'd assume considering we don't really know what type of personality she'd be if to exist again. I think the best way to flaw her if she came back is that since she's not well known, most people often forgets her, maybe even her own brothes, making her feel excluded and not helpful.
I remember being introduced to Venus Because of the Power Rangers crossover. I was Ecstatic to see a girl turtle. I had loved TMNT for years so being able to see myself in it was really cool. Of corse, that was back when I Was a girl, but still.
There was plenty of female representation in the TMNT universe prior to this. But after issue 100 we def got look at all the mutant check boxes we have now. There’s something to be said about being careful with your IP and not watering it down with a zillion other versions like they do with Spiderman. It’s ok if a product is the product it was at its inception. But a lot of people fell off hard after issue 100 and the only reason IDW still has TMNT license is thanks to the Last Ronin
Ironically, she was the least awfully written character in that show. All the other turtles were heavily flanderized and dumb down. Still not good though. Glad the IDW version is much better.
I agree 1 million percent. I legit could not stand how badly they characterized the other Turtles. Venus was fine. And the effects they used on the show were just awful. Even for back then. The mouths were completely out of synch and sometimes the costume had weird malfunctions that were painfully obvious. Not worth revisiting. For the first time ever I wish I just took the wiki's word for it 🤣🤣🤣

A woman, mutated into a frog, frankestiened into a turtle. Comics are wild!
IDW TMNT is whacky as hell and I love it 🤣 It shouldn't work but somehow... it does.
I always liked the idea behind Venus, but the execution in The Next Mutation was so poor. Glad IDW remedied it.
That TV show did her ZERO favors. I went back and watched a lot of that show again for this video and well... It was not fun 🤣
@BlerdWithoutFear Ironically, she was the least of the show's problems...
We acknowledge Next Mutation just like we acknowledge Dragon Ball Evolution and the first Avatar the Last Airbender movie
No. We do not acknowledge that blasphemous Avatar film.
@@kmallory100 that was the point lol All of it is hot gar-bage.
What Avatar movie? 🤣🤣🤣

i loved ziva back when i watched NCIS.
Venus in the comics is a way deeper character.
Very. Has a lot more to offer than just being "the girl turtle". I really hope she doesn't get forgotten about when the series relaunches this summer
@@BlerdWithoutFear yes
This goes hard. Just found out Venus was introduced to IDW.
I remember liking Venus as a kid, but damn if she doesn't fail to hold up.
“OOHHHH😭 [Leonardo]! You’ve lost youre arms in battle!!! 👋 But you grew some nice boobs!”
That "Robin Hood: Men in Tights" reference 🤣

Man! Talk about a blast to the past.
Right!?!? Going back and watching the show for research made me realize even harder how this was 5 ever ago.
All I can think of is why Venus from The Next Mutation have boobs.
It legit made ZERO sense. Like what purpose do boobs on a turtle serve??? On a kid show no less???

As a kid I thought it was for the person in the suit, but now I know that's not how that works.

This was *great!* I was only aware of some of this info and thoroughly enjoyed the video. Thanks!!

I really hoped they put her back in the TV series and not in a cheap costume version of TMNT.
I like venus i wish she had a different colour like white or brown or even green...what was her weapon?
I will always love next mutation it was awesome 😅
