So I was at comic con recently and my best friend was talking to a guy who makes art about the ninja turtles comics and I went over to talk with them and the guy was like "I'm John what's your name" "I'm Jennica" and he goes "are you serious? " And I was so confused until they explained to me there was a freaking ninja turtle named Jennika !!! So that's wild having my very uncommon name represented in media.

Whatever the plot called for that was her personality. she was the most side character that ever side character as a human. I think that's why some of the fan base found jarring. When she started to become the main character for a little bit. all that being said I'm surprised I didn't make Shadow the fifth Turtle instead.
April O'Neal is the strong female role, she holds down the turtles and keeps them grounded while at the time not being a damsel in distress, needing help ever so often but being appreciative not pretentious. She was created by Tom Waltz and Ken Garing, so not Sophie Campbell. It was Waltz who chose to turn her into the 5th turtle in 2017 years before Campbell was set to become the new lead writer. Where people like to connect Jennika to Campbell's character Artemisia is because Waltz reached out to Campbell to design her as a turtle for Waltz' pitch. The only similarity is the choice of mask/marking color, which was chosen by Waltz.

Venus seems to have an interesting set up. Lets see where they go with her. Jennika is alright. But she still seems like an outsider to the core group. However, I can tell they are working on it. They need to get her to interact with the brothers more. That will be key. But they can't force her into it. I think even Ralph mentioned this where he told her "Your not one of us. Our brothers have a bond. You can't just barge in and be a part of that."

Venus seems to have an interesting set up. Lets see where they go with her. Jennika is alright. But she still seems like an outsider to the core group. However, I can tell they are working on it. They need to get her to interact with the brothers more. That will be key. But they can't force her into it. I think even Ralph mentioned this where he told her "Your not one of us. Our brothers have a bond. You can't just barge in and be a part of that."

The She Hulk show was anounced after they mutated Jennika, and the character had been in the book for years before that happened. This book just completed it's 11th year.
