Totally not my preferred type of music. But I loved it too. Such a complex voice needs a better mic, but the guitar was captured well. I found the performance vaguely reminiscent of a bootleg vinyl album I once had, of Nico singing with the Velvet Underground. What a breathtakingly beautiful boat, I had to press pause a few times, and gaze in awe. I never really liked full-length keels before, partly because of reputed issues with docking maneuverability, but that little gem looks like it would turn easily.
"Wood boats left to die, then resurrected. We too are neglected. You, a saviour. We absorb, like the dry timbers, thirsty for the artist's elixir" quoted from viewer, me give me more 🤌
Good question. Time and luck. I bought her unseen and with a survey that was 20 years old. I would only buy if the boat was in the water, sailing and with a good motor. Its better then buying a house and you'll see the world(well maybe part of it). But you'll know when you know. Good luck and see you out there
Hi just an observation, why have you mixed calking both cotton and oakum I have only by preference used oakum but if I've had a loose softwood craft I would cotton above water only , but everyone has their own preferences, cheers for now
Good observation Brian! Solid name also.. The reason for the strand cotton is that the seams where to wide to loop with oakum. So twisting with a drill you can get the right amount of cotton in without blowing out the back. Not ideal but I was done with planking
@@sssiman in that case I would have tended to spline the real bad seems and use untwined oakum yes you can get buldge out on the inside but always neat with a spline . I use a jig on the sawbench to knock out splines glue one side only and tape it in this still let's the planks move and if needed it still can be calked in later years
@@brianshields7137 we raked the seams and are refastening our 74 yr old Atkins trawler, it had a mix of cotton and oakum. We're considering cedar splines topsides but, undecided.. I'd agree though, gluing a new edge and recaulking is the proper way to go.
I thought the soundtrack was gorgeous..obviously you did as well. Don't people stop to think ( its so simple). The peanut gallery ought to know to keep in mind this production stems from the builders perspective & all that accompanies this is purely divine to them. Your boat is gorgeous..I suspect you were motivated by Magic Carpet & its owner. LuvYa..Canyon in California🎈I'd like to be 'hurt' more, please! My guess was - you are the singer..or its Nico.., please solve this mystery.. Wish you fair winds, Canyon
Inspired by Tally Ho? But wait, you didn’t build a new boat with the old one in the way! : ) Nice job, great accomplishment. But the video made it look way too easy. I know coz I’m just about to launch mine.
Bravo! Very courageous to take on a wooden boat project and see it though to sailing. Very uplifting.
Thanks Kevin! It was quite the journey. Looking forward to getting her out again and maybe future projects
Wow! Wonderful job! Another wooden boat saved and everyone smiling!❤
Haha there were a few tears
Beautiful vessel!
Thanks Lars. She is a 23" ocean baby. The boat behind her and being cut was a David Hillyard. Will do vid on this series
Ppl who inspire other to good work are blessed 😊

How did you go about finding a vessel like this one?

seek and ye shall find! If you never want to be unemployed, buy a wood boat. It's a world within a world.

Yes I know of this. She’s out of the water now so might investigate how those seams are holding up. Nothing has spelt yet

Is that a early aldous harding.
I know aldous pretty well, she's cool
Yeah live from Golden Dawn, which I believe has closed down?
How do you know her? I’ve got a friend of friend who managed her.
👏👍

No, but i am slowly and yes it is easy cos im not building a new boat
Great job ! But the music is tough on the ears and takes a bit away from your work !
Haha you want the scraping and planning version then
My interpretation- the lyrics portrayed a luv- song, complimenting the labor perfectly as well as bringing up a bunch of emotion for this guy🎈
The music might have been ok if i was recorded properly using decent sound equipment
Reka
Ahhhh sweet as bro. Thanks man!
