    It's common to compare Pushkin's input into Russian literature and language to Shakespear's input into English. But I dare to say, that Chaucer's wit and beautiful writing are as valuable as Shakespear's and his sometimes tricky spirit reminds me Pushkin's sparkling character and sharp sence of humor.

    Lomonosov also wrote "On Earth's layers"! It's the first known geology book in Russia.
    He was a nature philosopher.

    very nice! i wanted to say pushkin may not be as unknown abroad as you think. We read him in my high school in the US
