The facts that the person playing the patient is a real survivor, and that all the females that lined up are not extra’s, but actual crew members, writers, producers, etc on the show makes it that much more powerful!

@John Lucas I don’t know if I’d go so far to agree that the line is hilarious. But I did however feel it was unlikely that a person in this traumatic state could would come up with such a dramatic and poetic line on the spot off the top of her head. That goes for pretty much her whole dialogue in that scene.
Unfortunate, because it’s evident that the actress is INCREDIBLE!! To bad she wasn’t given more realistic verbiage for her situation. Give the dramatic poetic lines to another character.

Fun fact is that the actress playing the patient who was violated is a real survivor so this scene is even more special to know it is that real . PRAISE GREYS
Edit: you know it’s been 3 years and this still gets me everyday it hits so hard for personal reasons I can not imagine going through this wow :( it’s hard because for most women I can not say for all the process of getting checked at the hospital is just as horrifying as the trauma they went through Greys is the first show I can think of that showcases the raw hard truth of life including a woman who has actually been through it as well it is just so SO powerful and disgustingly beautiful if that makes sense. That’s what people need to focus on NOT that I call it a “fun” fact when I state it that isn’t the point that isn’t important move on don’t think of it that way get checked mentally and just realize how important this scene is how so many people go through and this is giving them some sort of voice back !!!! worry more about that.

Fun facts: what’s amazing about this episode is that the plot line was Camilla’s (Jo’s) idea after being infuriated by watching a courtroom case about rape. Upon ABC getting wind of the rape kit scene, they initially protested but Miss Shonda put her foot down. Eventually, the head of standards and practices for ABC joined the lineup of women in the hallway. This is the raw factor we need back in tv.

last night, i watched this episode for the first time with my mom and dad, and when this scene came on, we all cried. Sexual harassment, assault, and rape is a very serious topic to discuss and it should be discussed more often. To all the men and women who have been a victim of sexual abuse, no matter what you wore or where you were at, it was NEVER your fault. You did nothing wrong. You weren't dressed like a skank or a w-ore, they just thought like a rapist. You are never alone. And if you ever need to talk to someone, they will listen. You are loved and supported. No matter what your gender identity is, or your race or your age, the people who love you and support you will build you a wall of support for you.

@Andrea Coronel I am so sorry you had to go through such a traumatizing situation. What happened to you was NOT your fault and you deserve friends and family members that support you through thick and thin. You are not alone and there are so many young teenagers out there who have been though the same things as you have. You are not a slut or a whore, you are a survivor and a warrior. I cried this whole episode. This show is amazing! As a survivor, i remember a certain woman sat with me hours after her shift ended while I was in the ICU. She was the only person that sat and held my hand without letting
go. People like her are a “special” type of person and woman. I want to find her and thank her. Just holding my hand was the first step to my recovery. To my survival. What an amazing episode. Beautifully done.

I've been too afraid to comment on this scene I've watched a thousand times. But whoever took part from writing, directing or acting in it - you saved me more times than I can count. When I'm afraid, an anxiety attack is coming on... watching this wall, this protective sphere of a diverse range of women reminds me I can do this, I am not alone, I am safe and empowered and maybe its not much but thank you ladies. To all the women out there fighting that struggle or helping a sister stand - thank you. 🙏
