I am a retired IT guy, so I like to work on computers and play some PC games. I also like to ride a bike, when I am not running. My grandson likes Legos, so I have been building an advanced Lego race car. It is not easy. I also like to spend time with my grandson. I also like to watch TH-cam videos. 😂

I started out life working in horseracing in the early 1990s. I never rode a winner at Worcester (where you do your parkruns) but finished second there twice and had my first ride over fences there too. I rode winners at nearby Ludlow and Hereford though. Now I mainly run but follow racing and occasionally ride out at a racing stables in Northants. Keep up the good work, it's inspiring 👍

I volunteer on archaeological digs, gardening and a bit of astrophotography. Been helpful recently, as suffered a bad knee injury in January and still recovering. Hitting the gym 3 or 4 days a week!

As you say, always good to have other hobbies, especially when injured or unable to run.

Chess, been playing since 8 years old, ( I am the same age as you ), I remember before Chess computers were sold, I got my first job, saved up a whole months pay cheque to buy the very first Chess Computer sold to the public ( which I still own ) - Chess Challenger 10 ( Fidelity Electronics 1978 ). I still play, its very good for your Brain. There is most likely a different ( maybe sad ), part of this story, where on a Friday Night I went to the local Chess Club as a teenager whilst apparently my School friends were out drinking and partying ( which I didn't ).

Cheers Donato. Good luck with the 5k. There are a couple of 5k race options up here in Yorkshire. Done a few 5k races down the years but these have been the day before marathons so have never actually raced them.
Hobbies away from running? Good question. Do like walks, but only when weather is good.
Used to go to football and watch ‘LIVE’ music. Since I quit alcohol, a lot of these things just aren’t the same.

Thank you Colin. Walking is great isn’t it? I’m sure if I done some digging there should be some 5k races local here, especially track races. Enjoy your week!
