Your fishery is absolutely amazing. Five 20”s in one day? Unreal. Your calm demeanor is also amazing. You’d be hearing a lot of Ric Flair whoooos from me on those fish.
Thanks Eric! I actually caught a couple more 20”s but I went back the next day and caught those other two again once they moved onto their beds. I plan on using them in one of my next videos so I didn’t want to keep uploading the same fish getting caught multiple times lol. I missed a couple more giants early in the morning too that I could have picked up with a jig or worm but moved on to the next one with the Plopper instead.
Dude...you've got to be from the south to reference the Rick Flair whooo. From my youth I remember watching Mid Atlantic wrestling on a 15" black and white TV. That's been a while....those were the days.
Eric Bowman hahahaha
He may remain calm, but he certainly knows how to style and profile when it comes to catching smallmouths.
I love your videos, straight to fishing. No long introductions and annoying music and man you can cast!
i'd be on the water 15h a day if i had a river this good near me
You ain't lieing bro!.
Id be there 24/7
I'm sure there is you just have to find it. Less pressure generally help a ton
I know man. Most of the rivers where I live a full of runoff from farms and factories. The fish we do catch tend to look pretty sickly unless you travel a long way upstream.
You find the less pressured spots you will catch them
All I can say is WOW!
I get 1 smallie in the 19" range a season and consider it a good year.
Five 20" tanks in one trip just doesn't seem right.
Good for you.
thats about the average that he catches around there lol.
Well due to my favorite video of yours I bought a bbz-1 rat, I went to a spot I’ve never fished before today to try and see if I couldn’t wrestle up any smallies and instead I caught my personal best largemouth. So I thought the day couldn’t get any better but I see I was wrong
Congrats on the PB!
Your casts are really accurate... Im a decent fisherman but i think i would have hung that 75 in the trees at least once lol..
I'm sure he is both a great caster and a good editor...all the bad casts end up on the cutting room floor. I know mine do!
My thoughts exactly. And even if his bad ones do end up on the editing floor, the casts he does not edit out are amazingly accurate.
So Surgical with those casts 🎯
Hell yeah, coffee and a new NDYakAngler vid on a Sat morning!
A real fisherman catches a 105” limit. Seriously, that was an amazing day we just spent together. Thanks for taking us along.
I called the first "she wanted whopper plopper for breakfast" line right before he said it. Then I laughed out loud when he said it. Love it man. Keep up the awesome "work".
I love your videos! You're always so calm. Even when you hook a fish you don't break stride in a thought. You are a soft-spoken master at work. You are the Bob Ross of fishing! 🎣
I owe you a HUGE thank you for introducing me to the Whopper Plopper for smallies. I’ve been crushing them in Middle TN on the 90 size. It works all day long!! You have some of the best content on TH-cam and I love your channel. Thank you so much for everything you do and keep up the great work brother!
Me too. Thanks to this amazing channel I caught big bass, smallies and largies, and northern pike on Choppos (the Berkley clone) this summer and fall. Used 75 and 90 size and the top water action was awesome. Here in Canada the Choppo is sometimes $10 cheaper.
If I watch anyone else's fishing videos I get bored after 3-4 min . But , 14 min. Of yours went by like it was nothing . I swear I could watch you fish all day.
The small bite has been good on the Rock river here in Beloit, thanks for showing me and getting me hooked on Kayak and whopper poppers. Awesome
I'm watching this 3yrs later, all I gotta say is DAAAAAAAAAAMN!!! now that's a fishing day, really nice video.
The Tiger Woods of fishing, casting on dime size landing areas, like Tiger on a green..what a beauty!
Those are some beautiful bass. Every time I watch I get so jealous
Me three!!!
What Tim said, your casts are perfect, you are Da' Man. I have to live vicariously through your videos.
That last 20" was unusually beautiful.
Love these videos. Don't change a thing. I look forward to each one. Thank you. Goes good with sun morning coffee.
I know what jig I buying next! That super catch! Bass Lady loves this! On my pontoon fishing boat I keep this float to go retrieve my lures.or other people lures...which is a hobby when not fishing. Thanks for share!
Another great day of bass ! That Whopper Plopper is a great lure!
The conservation guys and fisheries folks clearly do a great job in your state. Must be sweet to go out to these clear streams filled with aquatic plants and catch for fun and release. Good to see your husbandry of the resource and obvious enjoyment of the sport.
It is amazingly cool how big those small mouth’s tails are. Such powerful swimmers, just gorgeous fish.
I was watching another channel similar to yours, but I could only take 5 minutes of the monotone screeching before I had to stop and come back here. Thanks for being you. I consume this channel like TV. I'm probably not the only one.
Been catching some of the biggest smallies of my life this spring on the plopper 75 up here in western New York keep up the plopper videos there awsome!!!!
Every time I see you post a video I get so excited!!
5-20s in one day, whopper plopper heaven!!! Awesome video!!!
I came by your videos and I enjoy watching them. Thank you!!
Shenandoah River has been tough lately, this provided so much inspiration!!! (I may or may not have paused this at the 8 minute mark and went to the store and bought 2 whopper ploppers)
When I eat taco bell I have a lot in common with spawning smallies... I too have to fan out my bed.
I love that war paint look around the Smallmouth Bass eyes.
Just got a new kayak with a power pole and you and greg blanchard were big reasons why. Keep killing it and thanks for the inspiration!
Thanks and congrats, the power pole is a game changer in moving water!
Thanks for another great video -- I think you're the Bob Ross of angling!!
best fishing channel on youtube hands down. thank you sire for the unreal content
I just bought 2 whopper ploppers 75 sz one loon and one bone. I never knew thet tails were flexible. Nice topwater lures. Yea the topwater Bite is addicting. Those are some impressive fish. Smallies are beautiful 🎣
Your videos are a breath of fresh air. Keep up the good work my friend.
Down here in VA those 19 to 20 fish are hard to find. I enjoy watching you catch them beauties up north. Keep them vids coming.
Love your channel. Recently picked up a couple WP75's and landed 3 nice largemouth on my first trip. All were about 1.5 to 2lbs.
Those bass are so beautifully colored. Excellent video.
Definitely great ! I'm using that whopplop with a zebco22 spincaster (ol skool fishin) spooled with 12lb line. and an old shortgrip solid glass rod.
One of the only TH-cam channels I Like before even watching the video! Awesome channel!
i've fished lake winnipesaukee NH for over 45 years so i know a thing or two about smallies...those fish are stunning
You had a great morning! Nice job! I just bought my first Whopper Plopper and caught a largemouth just last night!
Everything stops when ND uploads!
i wish i can fish again i love to watch the way you fish im getting old and had heart trouble thanks keep it up good luck al from commack ny
Newfound respect for you sir. Paddled upriver 3.5 miles from my usual take-out to my favorite section last friday, what a workout! River was high and moving fast, but yours is fast as well i notice in the narrower reaches. That'll make a man out of ya if done frequently! Was worth it though to catch my first Smallie of 19'. Also thanks for turning me onto the color black. I would not have bought 3.8 Keitech swing impacts in Black Shad if it wasn't for your success with black, landed 18 3/4" of Bronze fury yesterday, they really liked that color in the stained water. I'm definitely ordering 5" Kalins in Black now, have done well with green pumpkin, same as the Keitechs, but now it's all about black😎
It’s a workout this time of year when the water is really moving! I’ll have to try the Keitechs in that color.
I fish smallies in Maine too, hes definitely right. The smallmouth there are more aggressive than normal earlier in the season in the colder water temps. If you ever find yourself up in Maine definitely fish for smallies
This river is insane -- I've read a bit about the restoration there back in the 90s-- hope I can make it up this season -- what a treasure +1 Like :)
For what I have seen this guy fishes in some of the cleanest, most beautiful rivers in USA. In the most respectful way I really envy you.
That's awesome man, your average smallie is a REAL nice catch around where I am, don't seem to have a lot of size in our stream's, maybe 3-4 a year.. that's what is cool about watching your videos
I saw this title and instantly loved the vid!!
Haha was having a bad time trying to start my homework, as soon as I find the way to set to work, pops up!!! New NDY video!!! xD
I am so jealous!! Beautiful smallmouth. All of them are great quality fish
You just caught 100" of smallies for your best 5. I've never seen that before. Unreal!
Dude. This is awesome. Keep them coming. Great video. I am so jealous also. Down here where I live I would have already had 50 people in boats or kayaks pass me or be ahead of me fishing. We will never have the quality of fishing you enjoy with all the pressure down here.
WOW!!!!!!!!!!!! All your fish are "tanks". I like the quality of all your videos
Your casts are so dang accurate. I only hope to attain that level of precision someday.
Takes time man I'm close but probably would've caught a tree or two and I've been fishing for 20 years lol
@@benpritchett65 I'm pretty accurare with my baitcaster, but when he uses spinning gear and skips a jig under branches that are literally touching the water, I can't help but be envious. Lol
@@FranktheTank319 same! It's impeccable
What a great day, been raining and flooding here, this was just what I needed thanks for the video.
Your passion for topwater equals mine. Some of those smallies hit on top as hard as the redfish in Carolina Beach!
Me and my grandson went yesterday afternoon for a little bit caught one on a worm.Tied on a whopper plopper 90 and it was on from there.
See you picked up in 2019 right where you left off! Awesome content man! I love it
I've been patiently waiting for another video!
this was an insane trip !!! so awesome
Now THAT looks like fun!! You almost need a bigger net!
Uses one top water lure all day and rips lips. Yes please! 🙌🏻
Great video my friend awesome fish hell of a day!!!
I just started kayak fishing last year here in Minnesota and have watched just about every video you've done. I'd love to figure out where you catch all those giants. I've never caught a smallmouth, but thanks to your videos, if I could find a good place, I feel I might have some success. Keep the videos coming.
These are the moments I live for. I have few days like this that I can brag about. Every smallie you caught were between 3-6 lbs. Fucking fantastic day of fishing.
Tried out the Plopper on the weekend for the first time. They smashed it at the lake in calm coves from 2-4ft deep. Both Largies and smallies
ABSOLUTELY NOTHING BETTER THAN TOP WATER SMALLIES, REAL NICE 🐟👌
Wow, what a great group of fish.
Absolutely love your videos. Thanks!
You literally make such accurate casts effortlessly
Jesus man what an awsome day of smallie fishing. Wow
What a great fisheries!!!!
Great vids bud!!!
And so it begins... Plopper season. Unfortunately all of are rivers here in Michigan have been flooded all spring....I think it will be a week or 2 before I can hit the rivers. Got a largemouth or 2 on the lake...but overall slow here in Michigan.
Never seen so many 20 inch smallies in one stretch of river!
What a day some hogs with that many 20” , like to see ya do another video fishing the antique lures
Best smallie fisherman alive! 👍🎣 always love the videos
The bill dance of kayak fishing. All you catch is giants lol
What an awesome day brother! Great vid as always. Tight lines from Michigan
I think Larry Dahlberg owes you some royalties !
He definitely sold me . I bought a few of them after I first watched these videos.
I've yet to catch a fish on the 90, just bought a 75 Monday, because of this channel, haven't thrown it yet, water is still offcolor here in central Illinois.
We have had some good water levels here in East Tennessee. However , right now all of our water is blown out because of all this rain
$1000s of dollars in......(still never caught a bass!!) ....guess what...I LOVE THIS SPORT!!!! (rods, reels, line,lures...you guys know the deal...just in love....fishing in itself is awesome!! Been 3 years..still no lips ripped...lol...gonna keep casting..tight lines guys!
Your persistence will pay off, Jay. Focus on a couple baits you know work on your local waters. It will start to click and you’ll be off to the races! Best of luck, buddy.
Amazing as always! Going out today with the ploppers and buzz baits, fingers crossed.
plopper bite has started to kick in down in the monticello mn area...
Whoa! never noticed u took my advice! funny.. here we are again in the same situation! haha whopper plopping tomorrow bub! keep crushing em man
Man that is a great smallmouth fishery ,,im jealous ,great videos
After watching your videos I went to Sportsmans Warehouse and purchased 2 different Whopper Ploppers. I tried to find the Nikko Hellmagramites but neither Cabela's or the Warehouse had them. I found a similar Hellmagramites brand so hopefully I can share with you how they worked. I'm looking forward to using them! Many thanks for your videos.
The Nikko hellgrammites are tough to find. Amazon is one of the few places to get them and they basically ship from the company. The thing I really like about them is how durable they are but I’d imagine any of the plastic hellgrammites should work pretty well to catch fish. The smallmouth seemed to recognize what they were when I dropped one in front of them and didn’t hesitate to strike.
Elkhorn Creek here near where I live in Frankfort KY. was called Kentuckys best well known secret smallmouth fishing stream! I'm told it was due to the Hellmagramite population. For whatever reasons they're just not as thick now. Keep up the great videos and good fishing to you!
Another great video!!! Your production quality, sound, commentary and edits are all spot-on! I do, however, have one request - would you mind to add a written description of the fishing equipment you’re using into your comments section? I’m starting to do a lot more river fishing myself but, have nor had much luck finding a good rod under 6 feet. You seem to get great control and feel from your gear. Thanks a ton!
I’ll start adding that in the video description. I should go over it quick in the video but when I start getting on fish I usually forget lol.
NDYakAngler Ive actually heard you give a description in several of your vids but, I’m usually so engrossed in watching you pull in those giant smallies - I forget to jot it down. So, I really appreciate you putting it in the description! 👍
Great action! Love it.
Nice video, alot of quality fish! Jig bite is on fire here
Whopper plopper smallie vids are the best
Dude - you have exceptional casting skills. Very impressive, which leads to some impressive fish! :-)
Dude your content is so calming, no fluff no loud music no repetitive nonsense just nature quality fish and Bob Ross narration. I'm truly jealous of your spot and setup, always a pleasure to watch you fish. And you're a surgeon with that cast... I'd be up in the trees with a treble hook bait like that. Are you throwing on a shorter rod like a 6'6?
Thanks! I was using a 6’8” M F rod here. I do prefer shorter rods for river kayak fishing, that 6’8” is about as long as I’ll use. I use my 5’10” spinning rods quite a bit out there too and if St Croix made a shorter LT casting rod I’d be all over it.
@@ndyakangler makes sense to me. I think I have a shorter rod medium action I'll have to try but nowhere quite that nice to test it
I love the small mouth red eyes👹
Awesome video! I got the topwater itch now!
That’s some pretty nice casting going on there...🎣
Highlights of the video:
Literally the whole thing
You're right! Check me out!!!
Great video as usual. I was nailing them on the Ned Rig today.
