When you diffuse your hair from the ends up it's going to shrink 100 percent of the time. If you want the length just hover with the diffuser. Dont touch and start at the roots and leave the ends last

kyrah I have to use a curl creme or it will be. I just scrunch my hair with it. If I’m feeling extra curly, I’ll throw some gel in there too. If I mess with my hair or lay my head back on something while it dries it’ll be frizzy and flat.
IMSHOOK tell me if my routine is wrong, what I do is: I wash my hair and I turn my hair upside down when I’m washing off conditioner and I use cold water, I use a shirt instead of a towel, I want for my hair to be damp then I re wet it and brush it and add some oils and scrunch it. Even if I do that it still doesn’t dry curly and not frizzy :(
kyrah have you tried finger coiling to encourage the curl? And you definitely need to invest in some sort of leave in/cream and a gel instead of just oil. Oil doesn’t provide moisture. Giovanni leave in conditioner and cantu curling cream are well liked, and eco styler gels. Also, maybe you are overdue a protein treatment? My hair is also frizzy when I haven’t used anything strengthening in a while. I also never use sulphates in shampoo due to it drying out the hair and causing frizz, I co wash. I’m 3c curls. So what I’d do is, co wash, deep condition with protein (Shea moisture Jamaican black castor oil masque), leave in, cream, and then gel. No oil until the hair is dry to scrunch out the cast of the gel, but gel is needed to keep the curls in shape. Try this and see how you go, good luck !! Xxxx
I have mainly 3b hair and whenever I air dry it’s super flat at the roots and I also LOVE the look of volume cause I feel like it frames the face more and just looks GORGEOUS😍 and there has only been a couple of times I’ve had volume after air drying but it was a couple days after my wash day so it was just frizz that made it look voluminous🤦🏻♀️ I really want a diffuser tho so I’m gonna try to buy one and see how it goes.

I used to be a dedicated air dryer BUT I 100% prefer diffusing better now that I actually know how to do it right. This video was so HELPFUL, thank you for sharing your tips 😍
Omg am I’m crazy or do I love the air dry side a tiny bit moreeeeee? Yo no se! I mean beautiful on both sides for sure but for some reason team air dry right now. I love the length that it gave you!!!!! Either way, I’m just obsessed with you. Great video!!!!!
Haha I knooowwwww. I'm so torn. My mom and Luis also liked the air dry side. I think I'm going to start air drying AND diffusing hahaha best of both worlds
Paola Acevedo I agree, both sides are fabulous, but I like the length retention on the air dried side. And she achieved beautiful volume! No flat hair for her 👸🏼🌟
Beauty By JennyFro the air dried side was so voluminous, it appeared diffused to me. Beautiful both ways though. Maybe switch off between the two, for less heat touching your magnificent healthy curls
I was wondering if there's a difference between using a hair defuser and a normal hair dryer I'm the only one in my family who has curly hair I got it from my grandma! And I really want to show off my curls but don't know if I can use a normal hair dryer? 😥
I've always air dried my hair but was looking for more volume since now that I'm getting older my hair is thinning. I recently bought a diffuser and used it for the first time and I don't think I'll ever go back to air drying. It definitely makes a big difference when trying to achieve "fullness", plus my curls seemed to love it! Thanks for posting this!
Netherlands! I’ve never been but looks so beautiful!!! Try using a hair pick to create volume at the root!!! It works awesome for me! 😘😘😘 ps. Hope you consider subscribing!!
I honestly feel like they almost look the same and if you can get that almost same volume with air drying, I would air dry on days where you dont need your hair to dry so quickly. Btw, I LOVE YOUR HAIR! SO BEAUTIFUL!
Both are gorgeous!!! But I know how much you’re gonna hate this - I am team Air Dry! 👏 lol your curls look shinier and more sculpted then with the diffuser. And seeing you do both just confirmed why I struggle with the diffuser for myself sometimes. Hehe
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 team air drying is totally winning. I dont think I can say buy to my diffuser but I think I'll start doing both!! Air dry for like 80% and then diffuse the rest. Oh gosh just thinking of walking around with wet hair gives me anxiety hahahahah
You make it look soo simple! Hair looks great! I need to try with a diffuser! I can never get that much volume. I also think the products I use aren’t great. Thanks for sharing x
I just don’t have time to diffuse, I air dry in a top knot overnight. I definitely want to experiment with diffusing in the future, but I haven’t had the chance to yet!
I recently started to take care of my curls, I got a big trim January of last year and they've gotten so much better, the problem is I went get it straightened for an event back in November and since then my hair doesn't want to curl back up. I noticed the girl in the salon didn't apply nor washed or did anything at all before going in with the heat. it doesn't look or feel damaged but it just doesn't want to curl 🤧 what do I do?!
Oh no!!! I’m so sorry to hear that. So stressful!! Just be patient and give your hair lots of deep conditioning!! But try not to over wash. Over washing can cause it to become even more dry. And maybe a small trim soon will also help!
Try doing a hair mask! I recently straightened my hair and the curls were not right after washing and going back curly. I did a hair mask in the shower then moisturized with oil and cream before letting it air dry. My curls went back to normal after :)
First of all you are so beautiful. Both sides look fabulous, but your hair always looks fabulous. I do prefer the air dried side personally. I watch all your videos. I’m sorry I don’t comment more. Air drying is what I prefer on my hair, but the 7-8 hour dry time is really getting to me. I am still transitioning back to my natural curls-still have some stringy ends. The denman brush really helps, but I’m sure diffusing would curl the ends more. The only issue is I’m really dislike frizz on my hair. And I watch diffusing videos all the time, and still don’t feel confident trying it. I even got the octava diffuser, after trying the deva dryer/hand and only touching my roots underneath-nape of neck, and it made my 3c hair straight! Is the oil you’re using light? My hair has never liked oil (in all my curly hair years, but I haven’t tried since transitioning back). But it works so well on your hair, I’m thinking about getting it. Has your hair always responded well to oils? So sorry about the 20 questions
Stephanie!!!!! I'm so happy your commenting! Thank you so muchhh. I'm thinking I'm going to start diffusing until it's about 60/70% dry and the diffuse!! You should give that a try with me Haha. Diffusing is definitely going to help give you a bit more of a tighter defined curl. Omg, the Ouidad oil is EVERYTHING!!! My curls hate oil Haha and this oil is totally different it's been the only oil that's ever worked for me. Let me know if you try it and how it goes!!
Beauty By JennyFro my pleasure and thank you so much. I’m going to try that diffusing method with you. And I’m definitely getting the oil. I did my first flexi rod set. Started at midnight last night, and finished 430 am. Then it took me about an hour to separate. It did help with no stringy ends. But I don’t have that kind of patience. And my roots are frizzy, but my daughters said looked like my flat ironed curls from when I used to get blowouts. I’m praying they last a few days. I don’t have a bonnet that is big enough for the curls to lay in, so just hoping I don’t wake up like I stuck my finger in a socket lol I wish I had your talent with curly hair I’m so sorry about the postpartum hair loss you’re experiencing, even though I would’ve never known if you didn’t show it. Maybe try to continue pre natal vitamins? And most importantly congratulations on the baby 👶❤️
your hair is so gorgeous omg! i naturally have 3a curls but my hair is almost down to my butt so it looks very weighted down and wavy, would diffusing help at all despite it being very long? usually the videos i see of people diffusing, their hair is just past their shoulders, so i’m not sure if it’ll work for me.
Air dry looks softer but diffusing looks tighter and a little neater so I'm gonna go with team diffuser! Also just a sidenote: You're really pretty, I love your hair, your makeup and your teeth look so white and sparkly 😂💜 nice video!
I still don't get how diffusing works. What's the point of those nodules if they aren't intertwining the hair while drying? I always thought that's what they were there for. But they don't move.
On you, I like the air drying side better. But on me, diffusing all the way. Hate my wet hair, it's too limp and on my face (I have bangs), so I just dry it as fast as possible. High heat high speed.
Texas Lovely Lady hi! Thank you for watching 😘 I really appreciate it! I actually don’t use oil for the same reason. Wether i diffuser or air dry. My hair and oils are not good friends!!! I actually just posted a video reviewing some curly products and I actually found an oil serum that work!!! I’m still in shock haha!
Thank you for listing all products used in your video! Both sides look the same to me, but I can tell a few subtle differences. The diffused side has more shine and more gloss. I always thought diffusing hair prevents shrinkage. I learned something new today! Diffusing will not prevent shrinkage. I always air dry. Now I know I am not missing out on anything.
I prefer the air dry side, softer and longer, i air dry, but funnily enough for the first time i diffused my hair for the very first time before watching you, i have to say i love the volume it gives which i never get when air drying but prefer the wet air dried look, also weirdly my hair looks longer when i diffused it than when i air dry it, i hate losing the length when air drying as i have long hair and it shrinks to just over my shoulders so so annoying.
Your curls look so good😭😭I air-dry my hair but recently it's been really dry and not defined do u have any products that u reccomend to reduce frizz and not make it really crunchy bc I tried a lot of things??
Amazing! I love the air dried side better. But the defused side is beautiful too! I air dry, my hair is too thin and the defuser doesn't work for me. But I will look into this picking thing you doo!
Maybe this is a dumb question but does blow drying with a defused not negatively effect your hair?? I killed my hair and it’s still in the recovery process, I’m trying to get my curls back to being bouncy and full and every curly hair video I see everyone is using a defuser so I’d assume they’re okay?? I’m just overly cautious so if anyone could let me know I’d really appreciate it!! 💕
Bri hello beautiful! Well congratulations on transitioning back to your natural curls so so exciting!!!! I would definitely stay away from using any heat while your in your transitioning period. So I would stick to air drying or if you’d like to diffuse just make sure you do it using cool air!!!! 😘😘
I love this video! I think the air dried side looks more moisturized and a little more shiny. Maybe just from not drying so quickly it gave your hair more time to absorb more moisture. I’m impatient too lol! My hair is so so slow drying. I loved watching your hair puff up during your video! It’s so crazy how different wet hair and dry hair looks. I’m struggling right now ugggg. Can’t find anything that doesn’t bother my scalp. I’ve switched shampoos, conditioners, gels. Doesn’t matter. It’s freaking out all the time. I thought it was sulfates and silicones NOPE! I tried a dandruff shampoo buut nooo! I just get little irritated spots. I’ve tried too many products to count with the same result.. I definitely don’t put gel or conditioner on my scalp. I found a lovely shampoo and conditioner combo made by Hask that doesn’t bother me, manages my hair so very well, but...of course it makes my hair too soft where it won’t hold the curls. And I’m still trying to find the moisture protein balance another frustration in my life. Ready to shave my head lol!
Stephanie Santelmann Hi Steph!!!! Thank you so so much for watching my video! I really appreciate it and I hope you consider subscribing! I know why you mean about your scalp. I have atopic dermatitis and my scalp is super sensitive and I get a lot of flair ups. So aggravating 😭 and the struggle with balancing everything for our hair is VERY REAL haha. But please don’t shave your head 😂😂 although I’m sure you’ll look beautiful no matter what 😘😘😘
Can someone explain to me why ppl with curly hair scrunch their hair? Is it because their hair is naturally wavy? I have 4c hair so I have never done it, the hair goes up by itself.
Hey love! Thank you for watching my video! I scrunch my hair while applying products to help with frizz and definition. And then I scrunch while drying to help me break up the cast 😘😘😘
i'm so glad i found your channel, your curls are very similar to mine. thanks to this video i realized i don't need a diffuser, i don't like too much volume and i love my hair length (around mid-back), but both ways look good on you.. so thank you for this video! i'm air drying my hair right now :D
I think its ironic that you use brushes and picks because I have always been told to never use them on curly hair. My hair isn't as curly as yours but I try very hard not to let brushes or picks touch my hair because it can make my hair so frizzy and causes breakage in my hair. I think i may take a look at some of the products that you mentioned and give a few a try.
I think your curls looks more defined when you air dry. I personally air dry. I don’t do anything after so I can literally go about day as my hair dries. Plus my hair doesn’t take too long to dry.
Ugh😩! 2 hours to air dry?! My hair takes a whole 2 DAYS!!! I just started with wash and go’s so I can’t do a video on it yet, lol, but I liked the diffused side more on you😍! I thought the curls looked more uniform! But still, both lovely, great video 👍🏿!
The only reason the diffusing side is so much shorter is because of how you diffused it! You shouldn't instantly go at scrunching and lifting the ends with the hair dryer if you want to maintain length. That method also can tend to dry out your ends while leaving the roots wet. If you want the same results as the air dry but in a quicker time you should watch Manes by Mell's video on diffusing! Helped me out a bunch.
Lauren Clarke hi Lauren thank you for watching my video and thank you for sharing your advice. I’m sure a lot of people will find it helpful. I don’t mind the shrinkage too much. Doesn’t really bother me, I’m more of an I’m obsessed with volume lol. I love Manes by Mell she is awesome.
LOVE the air dry look for sure. Both are gorgeous tho. I am just getting into my natural wavy hair and all new products , so hopefully i know what im doing

Beauty By JennyFro me gusta that idea!!! I likey the cookie.
@@paolaacevedo7840 Haha yesssss
Paola Acevedo I agree, both sides are fabulous, but I like the length retention on the air dried side. And she achieved beautiful volume! No flat hair for her 👸🏼🌟
Beauty By JennyFro the air dried side was so voluminous, it appeared diffused to me. Beautiful both ways though. Maybe switch off between the two, for less heat touching your magnificent healthy curls
i love the air dry side 🤍
😘😘😘😘 thank you
I was wondering if there's a difference between using a hair defuser and a normal hair dryer I'm the only one in my family who has curly hair I got it from my grandma! And I really want to show off my curls but don't know if I can use a normal hair dryer? 😥
I think both sides came out beautiful but personally I like a bit of shrinkage and volume so I would personally defuse 🖤
I’m a sucker for volume haha
@@jennyborrego6841 same 😂🖤
I dry my hair depending on the style I want , air dry session are for more sleek/wet/gel curly hair looks.
That’s a good idea! Lately I’ve been air drying for a bit and then finishing up with the diffuser!!! Ps. Thank you for watching my video 😘
Air dry looks so shiny and frizz free. Love it!
Thank you!!!
Yayyy that’s awesome 🙏🙏❤️
When i air dry my hair my roots are always flat but i don’t have a defuser so do you have any tips for me:) love from the Netherlands❤️
Netherlands! I’ve never been but looks so beautiful!!! Try using a hair pick to create volume at the root!!! It works awesome for me! 😘😘😘 ps. Hope you consider subscribing!!
Aw thanks for the tip! Just subscribed❤️
Maluku16 yayyyy 😘😘😘😘
Use the metal hair clips. I think they are called alligator clips... apply a few around the roots in the drying process that and picking always helps.
amy duran that’s an awesome tip! Thank you for sharing 😘😘😘
I honestly feel like they almost look the same and if you can get that almost same volume with air drying, I would air dry on days where you dont need your hair to dry so quickly. Btw, I LOVE YOUR HAIR! SO BEAUTIFUL!
Ileana Betschner thank you so so much 🥰🥰🥰🥰
Both are gorgeous!!!
Thank you!!!! Everything with practice lol try also using a hair pick for volume!!! Works amazing ❤️❤️
Both looked really good and it was a slight difference of length. I personally like the defuser.
Thank you so much!!!!!! I love the volume that I get when I diffuse!!!! Ps. Thank you for watching my video! I really appreciate it
I’m one of the few who prefers the diffuser😭❤️
Hahaha me too!!! 😘 thank you for watching my video 😘😘😘😘
same like its faster.. i dont have time
@laina yeah i said its faster, very much my option
Same I love Big hair ❤️
@laina I agree !
Lovely results on both sides! Excellent routine
I think it depends what your going for if you want tighter curls defuse if you want them looking soft air dry
That’s very very true
I agree both sides are beautiful. My preference is to air dry but it all depends on how much time I have.
Thank youuuu!!! Yes I totally agree. Time has a lot to do with it for me too. Plus how much patience I have at the moment lol 😂
I just don’t have time to diffuse, I air dry in a top knot overnight. I definitely want to experiment with diffusing in the future, but I haven’t had the chance to yet!
Let me know when you try how it goes and if you like it 🥰🥰🥰
I’m team air dry, I HATE when my hair is frizzy even if it’s just a little bit
@@jennyborrego6841 Thanku!!
Try doing a hair mask! I recently straightened my hair and the curls were not right after washing and going back curly. I did a hair mask in the shower then moisturized with oil and cream before letting it air dry. My curls went back to normal after :)
Your hair came out beautiful! Both sides are nice.
Kendra G thank you so much beautiful!!! I really appreciate it!!! And ps thank you for watching my video. I really appreciate it 🥰🥰😘😘😘
First of all you are so beautiful.
I don’t have a bonnet that is big enough for the curls to lay in, so just hoping I don’t wake up like I stuck my finger in a socket lol
I wish I had your talent with curly hair
I’m so sorry about the postpartum hair loss you’re experiencing, even though I would’ve never known if you didn’t show it. Maybe try to continue pre natal vitamins? And most importantly congratulations on the baby 👶❤️
your hair is so gorgeous omg!
i naturally have 3a curls but my hair is almost down to my butt so it looks very weighted down and wavy, would diffusing help at all despite it being very long? usually the videos i see of people diffusing, their hair is just past their shoulders, so i’m not sure if it’ll work for me.
wave hey babe! Thank you so so muchhhh!!!! And yessss diffusing (especially upside down) will definitely help!!!
Jenny Borrego thank you! 💜
For my curls, I’ve always done air dry with my hands using Fructis products.
Does your hair air dry quickly?
I like the air dry better! Less shrinkage. Your hair is beautiful 😍
hi i would try both but i thought the air dry side looked softer n less frizzy
Thank you for watching my video 😍😍
Air dry looks softer but diffusing looks tighter and a little neater so I'm gonna go with team diffuser! Also just a sidenote: You're really pretty, I love your hair, your makeup and your teeth look so white and sparkly 😂💜 nice video!
namjesus hahaha thank you so so much. I really appreciate it!!!! Yay team diffuser
They looked pretty close but the air drying technique came out a bit ahead. Plus it’s way easier/better on your hair.
Why the Denman brush after all the cream applications??
It helps with frizz and definition! It’s amazing
I KNOW WHAT YOU MEAN!!!! I love diffusing because I HATE wet hair hahahaha and I just love volume so damn much haha
Air drying looks better. My question is I am using oil but my hair then looks oily. If one air dries do they then just not use oil?
ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS
Aww thank you so much! I really appreciate it!!!!! 🥰🥰🥰
Omg hahaha I know exactly what you mean!! The struggle is real!!!! 😂😂🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️
@@jennyborrego6841 It's just so annoying lol! haha
Hi!!! Thank youuu! Omg yes! Using the hair pick is my fav way of getting volume! Works amazing 😉
I honestly like air dry expect my hair is just really tangly and thick which just makes me mad cause I can’t brush it
Both are gorgeous, both looks equally soft!!! The diffused side looks more ethnic so some people may assume it's not soft, just my 2 cents
Girl ur hair is so pretty!!

My hair gets so frizzy air drying like how do yall do it
Air Dry to the end!! I really liked your video :)
I gotta air dry my curles will go from chest length all the way up to the top of my neck
Essence 1549 the shrinkage is real!!!!
They look the same to me one just had more length.
The air dry definitely had a bit more length! Thank you for watching my video 😘😘😘😘

Stephanie Santelmann yayyyy fingers crossed!! 😘😘😘😘 keep me posted
Your hair is beautiful! It looks good either way

@@jennyborrego6841 OK, thanks for your quick reply. I kinda understand what ure saying but it looks like alot of work lol.
sedsa097 hahaha it’s not as bad as it looks either that or I’ve gotten used to the struggle 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
i'm so glad i found your channel, your curls are very similar to mine. thanks to this video i realized i don't need a diffuser, i don't like too much volume and i love my hair length (around mid-back), but both ways look good on you.. so thank you for this video! i'm air drying my hair right now :D
I love trying new products and techniques on my curly hair!! I hope the products work well for you!!! 🥰🥰
i feel like the diffuser defines your curls more💕
I think your curls looks more defined when you air dry. I personally air dry. I don’t do anything after so I can literally go about day as my hair dries. Plus my hair doesn’t take too long to dry.
Omg I wish!!! The feeling of wet hair on my back drives me crazy 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

Love the length, definition and least amount of frizz of the air drying method #teamairdry

Pairing your leave in with a gel works WONDERS for preventing frizz
