I have a mod that makes them go out of their way to eat at a table for that exact reason lol. It's called Meal Radius (Continued) . In addition to that I identify long walk distances with people carrying food and place small tables and stools. Example: I keep meals in the hospital so I have a small table in there for the occasional person who grabs a meal from there to cut down on cross base walking. Helps keep things efficient and makes it easier to keep my doctors from starving when they get real busy. (I can just force them to eat and they'll have food right nearby)
I have to put tables all over the colony to keep people from going "well I am 32 squares away I guess I will just eat this in the cattle pen" Seriously, I wish I could forbid them carrying food with them without a mod.
I bet ignoring tables is caused by other colonists planning to use the table, maybe always having more than enough spots could help? I'm relatively new at rimworld, so I apologize if that's just entirely wrong
I love how the battle music just emanates from melee guy. I like to imagine that the characters can hear it in-universe too and simply have no explanation for it but roll with it anyway
I just noticed that, in the first shot, the AC isn't broken. It breaks between the video starting, and Joe waking up. So he only "slept in the heat" for a few seconds. Joe is out there looking for the _pettiest_ of reasons to be mad, lmao
I mean I totally expected for him to be surprised not expecting the enemy while getting blasted. In Rimworld we are omniscient. We know he mentally broke. We know where is he. We can command our entire colony to move out immediately to position to intercept any threat. It was on point.
Having the whole crew pile-drive him into submission is iconic for sure, but I feel like the full experience is when he goes and punches a multigrain warhead to death, or the coolant line on the nuclear reactor.

Love how you can notice when Joe is unconcious because he drops his gun. The rest of the time he was still "concious" because he still had his gun in hand, just like Rimworld. Don't know if that was intentional or not, but still a great detail. Good work as always.

MY GOD, every part of this is absolutely perfect! The opening shot of the base, the lamp, the horseshoe throwing, her face while playing, the "flirting" attempt, the "insult", the random eating upright, the sudden flip of a switch between emotionless expression and murderous rage, the cinematic melee whooping out of nowhere, and the fact that the rest of the colonists rushed to respond before the rager had actually hurt anyone or been spotted acting weird by anyone. A masterpiece.
The way the other colonists instantly knew he had cracked without seeing anything and immediately mobilized - just as it looks when the omniscient player is controlling them - was my favorite part for sure.
I loved the table scene. Literally feet away from it but decides to just eat without it. So accurate lmao. Also loved the Chad melee guy just eating the plate with the food.

love two things about this video that is absolute perfection and nobody is talking about , The food being a pile in the corner next to the entrance is absolute amazing because if you think about is frozen cooked rice pile up in a corner and people just eat without a care in the world and also the fact that after they eat , there is nothing behind , no table , no forks or spoons , absolute nothing ,The whole thing is the meal , not just the content of the plate

Best 3D representation of Rimworld I've ever seen... The slide doors that automatically close, the auto-door in the fridge, narrow pathways, the view on the are in the first seconds.
I love the representations of all the rimworld objects and items more than anything in these videos. Really puts into context how silly standing lamps are XD
The way you not only translate the rimworld style so seamlesly into this more realistic look but on top of that make HIGH quality animations. My guy you are too good for this side of space.
These animations are what got me back into playing Rimworld. You do a really good job doing all the little quirks and mechanics that the game frequently uses (As soon as I saw Joe look at the table with the food in his hands, I knew exactly was was going to happen). Great work!
I have two great mental break stories. I remember once someone went berserk and my doctor stood right outside the chow hall and knocked him out cold in a single blow. Just imagine someone with a gun is ready to murder and your non combatant/might as well be a pacifist doctor hit them in the face with a 2 by 4 just as they walk out. th-cam.com/video/PJutiaj4sIQ/w-d-xo.html kinda like this except on the head. There was also the time one of my prisoners was trying to escape and I needed to solve this before they broke out and steal the weapons. Then one of the colonist went on a temper tantrum and I remember saying out load exactly "Ah great, she's now going to break things. I don't have time for you right now, go and hit whatever. Besides there's not much damage she could do anyway." and exactly five seconds I just see this very small glimmer of light to the right of the screen and hear a massive explosion. So the thing my colonist thought would be okay to break was the chemful in the central storage area, while every animal and colonist was in there. She obliterated the base and the best part is the ammo was stored in there too, so the survivors (which was a surprising high number) ended up getting shot by the rouge ammunition. The only survivors on that map where the prisoner and the colonists I sent to take care of them, they were JUST barely far away from the base to only be a witness to the failure that is that base design. This was on my first colony and the moment I went "RimWorld is now one of my favorite games"
Daymn, so amazingly done! The quality animations seems to grow - especially, at the end. I honestly expected him to start smiling after getting beaten up since he would get the catharsis mood buff XD

Oh god yeah. With out mods the easiest way to just deal with a Mental snapped pawn is just beat the tar out of them. A good Social pawn could arrest them but just kneecap the pawn and they'll wake up just fine.
It seems slightly less unreasonable when the colonists are actual humans and shown in real-time, but the thing that sent him into his murderous rage was still his own fault. To summarize, he wasn't knocked out because he was hostile, he was knocked out for his stupidity, weakness, and having Shooting 1. Edit: Joe's AC was fixed by the time he got sent back to his room, he was impatient too.
I really hope that you continue this series for many many more episodes, there are literally so many things that can happen in this game. 0:50 is.. he eating a hub-cap? Also love how the weakest guy is upset at things, and then gets the shit kicked out of him "And where did that lead you, right back to.. your room".

Love it. Group violence is always the answer, except for when your best fighter gets a mental break. Then your colonists have to just hide and hope for it to go away. I made the mistake of trying to beat a godly melee pawn into submission once. Many limbs were lost that day, many scars gained. And he still didn't go down.
These animations are so spot on! 100% accurate while hilarious all the way through, was laughing my ass of when he just stared at the table and took that slow bite. And love how you get around voice acting. It can be the stuff that makes or breaks fan project I’ve found so avoiding it all together is very clever and fits Rimworld perfectly, which doesn’t have VO either

Your animations are always enjoyable and the style really fits the game. Here, catch my sub. I love how the melee dude chews through a plate and the food as if it was a single object, but the other guy proves that the food can be picked up/separated from the plate, so eating a plate is clearly a habit/choice made by the first one :D
I laughed for a solid two minutes after this. The staring at the table before taking a bite is perfect Rimworld. And always having music following around Melee Guy is just hilarious. Unfortunately, knowing Rimworld one of these animations is going to be him being killed by a siege raid's mortar.
I just got into rim world recently and watching these animations just reminds me of the first few hours of my first play through where my colonists ate food without tables, slept in the hotness because my campfire was on in the spring and many more. Also great animations you got!

For me its them actively eating raw food when we have nutrient paste and cooked meals and like no restrictions on food type
i usally build a large table with way more chairs than needed usually does me fine

That's because another pawn reserves the seat from far away, so make sure you have a lot of seats.
I have a mod that more or less fixes this. What really annoys me now is when traders show up and use all the seats.

I remember once someone went berserk and my doctor stood right outside the chow hall and knocked him out cold in a single blow. Just imagine someone with a gun is ready to murder and your non combatant/might as well be a pacifist doctor hit them in the face with a 2 by 4 just as they walk out.

There was also the time one of my prisoners was trying to escape and I needed to solve this before they broke out and steal the weapons. Then one of the colonist went on a temper tantrum and I remember saying out load exactly "Ah great, she's now going to break things. I don't have time for you right now, go and hit whatever. Besides there's not much damage she could do anyway." and exactly five seconds I just see this very small glimmer of light to the right of the screen and hear a massive explosion.
So the thing my colonist thought would be okay to break was the chemful in the central storage area, while every animal and colonist was in there. She obliterated the base and the best part is the ammo was stored in there too, so the survivors (which was a surprising high number) ended up getting shot by the rouge ammunition. The only survivors on that map where the prisoner and the colonists I sent to take care of them, they were JUST barely far away from the base to only be a witness to the failure that is that base design.
This was on my first colony and the moment I went "RimWorld is now one of my favorite games"

The only thing missing is someone getting their arm ripped off because it was punched too hard, and now we have to make a prosthetic

Not only is the animation incredible, but every video is something we can all relate to as Rimworld players.
Oh god yeah. With out mods the easiest way to just deal with a Mental snapped pawn is just beat the tar out of them. A good Social pawn could arrest them but just kneecap the pawn and they'll wake up just fine.

It seems slightly less unreasonable when the colonists are actual humans and shown in real-time, but the thing that sent him into his murderous rage was still his own fault.
To summarize, he wasn't knocked out because he was hostile, he was knocked out for his stupidity, weakness, and having Shooting 1.
Edit: Joe's AC was fixed by the time he got sent back to his room, he was impatient too.

Love it. Group violence is always the answer, except for when your best fighter gets a mental break.
Then your colonists have to just hide and hope for it to go away. I made the mistake of trying to beat a godly melee pawn into submission once.
Many limbs were lost that day, many scars gained. And he still didn't go down.
Thats why firearms exist
RimWorld has a feature when a gun user it getting melee attacked they cannot aim or shoot expecting the shotgun
These animations are so spot on! 100% accurate while hilarious all the way through, was laughing my ass of when he just stared at the table and took that slow bite. And love how you get around voice acting. It can be the stuff that makes or breaks fan project I’ve found so avoiding it all together is very clever and fits Rimworld perfectly, which doesn’t have VO either

I love how the melee dude chews through a plate and the food as if it was a single object, but the other guy proves that the food can be picked up/separated from the plate, so eating a plate is clearly a habit/choice made by the first one :D
I laughed for a solid two minutes after this. The staring at the table before taking a bite is perfect Rimworld.
And always having music following around Melee Guy is just hilarious. Unfortunately, knowing Rimworld one of these animations is going to be him being killed by a siege raid's mortar.

I’ve had a deja vu of this video about half a year ago. This video came out three days ago.
I just got into rim world recently and watching these animations just reminds me of the first few hours of my first play through where my colonists ate food without tables, slept in the hotness because my campfire was on in the spring and many more. Also great animations you got!
