Okay, in particular I love you use varying amounts of framerates to draw focus, emphasis, tension, and snappiness to various moments, it does a great job emulating how we actually mentally kinda process our lives and events, and provides some fun contrast in moments. Going from the smoothly animated pump to the much choppier but very oppressive walk is gorgeous, after his arm is blown to bits from the hit, he only has low frame rate as he's struggling to keep it together and escape, while Brawler Bloodlust man comes REELING around the corner at max FPS, and they keep the contrast for the whole thing, it's really good.
@@SenselessIdea You’re definitely on the right track! Its hard to pick out every detail that sells it but this is, extremely well done in so many aspects. Plenty comment on the art style, but how you use just enough of the UI, and the expression work is great, and just, yes. Very yes.
Reminds me of when I first started playing. To learn the basics I ran several single Survivor games at the start and most of them would last just about as long as you would think before they get killed or kidnapped but it reminds me of a guy I had who didn't have any levels of shooting, I had designed him to be a pacifist with the intent of running away from any land if they could destroy the sentry guns. He could still pick up a gun but it wasn't my intention but one day he lost the dog and he felt spicy so I picked up the gun and had him shoot the guy for beating up the dog and it had shot him so we had this John Wick moment where he has never held a gun outside of moving it into the building for storage but he just walked in the house grabs the pistol and flawlessly shoots this guy in the head. I know the game is RNG based and I knew it then and I just remember being absolutely shocked. Best roll ever

I remember *fondly* how a turret ripped a colonist's leg off in a firefight. I didn't learn my lesson and another guy had their arm claimed by the turret. Now I never forget.
Yup. I remember one colonist of mine got shot in the head by an autocannon when it aimed at a retreating raider in front of him. Somehow he survived with his brain at 3/10.
I never played Rimworld, but I would absolutely watch a full series like this. No pressure for full episodes or arching stories, it's got a Battle Field Freinds vibe to it and I love the animation style
On god this looks like a great animation, the Background has the right amount of realism and RimWorld style, I love the characters, You sir have done good, I'd love to see you do something like Imperials vs Mechanoids or something
I mean it looked to be at least 15ft. Shotguns don't have much spread IRL, at that range the pellets are so close together it'd be nearly identical to firing a single slug/bullet.

Absolutely amazing animation work here! The cell shaded look has me convinced this is what Rimworld looks like on the survivor’s side. The animation is the perfect amount of choppy but fluid, realistic feeling but still got that simplistic game feeling. The motion the characters go through are so fluid and detailed, it’s amazing. Keep up the good work!

You really should go outside and touch grass, metaphorically AND literally. I have a fantastic area near my home, where a failed Communist infrastructure project gave way to a magnificent combination of swamp and grassland. I take long walks over there and connect with nature, taking some of the best photographs of my life.
Shooting 3 is like: "Is this how guns work? I guess it is..." Shooting 10 is like: "This is not how guns work, what the fuck???" Shooting 20 is like: "I have found the blessed gun. This revolver shall be put on display and celebrated for generations to come"
Love the crazy sword guy, where my most recent run my person with 20 intellect got to like 15 melee for some reason and so with a persona Zeushammer, psylink, and shield belt became my unintentional murder machine
Zeus Hammer swings kind of slow, Idk about it, BUT! The monosword is pretty great due to the fact that it's fairly fast AND has great armor penetration. Maybe persona weapons are just THAT GOOD, I wouldn't know, because I've never had a good enough persona weapon that I'd bother to use.
The guy would have to be addicted to lucyferium and they would fight until he dies from unsatisfying his addiction... In other words, mele guy *Triomphe*
This is very well done, I love your use of bringing in the UI as the guy just has to take a moment to process 'how?' To which the answer is 'we have no idea but good job.' It is a VERY, Rimworld moment in every context. Especially the A+ Brawler Bloodluster coming out now that the shotgun is taken care of. I even love the subtle details like their equipment, the chest plate and hat veteran shooter vs the 'I'm probably just the chef or farmer' tshirt who's probably just bait in case the raider rounded the corner.
You're fucking awesome. These are great. I would LOVE to see you interpretation of the "Ate without a table" mental break either from the melee chad OR stopped by the melee chad.
Melee chad drops their weapon, this is a friend after all. He picks up the emergency wooden club and proceeds to "dissuade" lvl 3 shooter from continuing to destroy the multi-analyzer. But, due to rng, melee chad destroys 3 of lvl3's fingers and disfugures his face.
The quality on these is through the roof! I've had to rewatch both of these, just to make sure they're OC! Amazing work, hilarious, truly unique, please keep at it!

That's nothing, I lost my best colonist due to being over populated, awful tier short bow with 32% durability and a level 1 trible shooter 1 shot her brain, she was fully teched out with bionics, lucifarium, you name it. Dude had a 1.3% chance to hit

I just use combat extended because that way I can actually maximize chances of hitting the target. Also it's fun to order your melee janitor to just feed off of raiders' fear. The minus is that whenever he is holding a weapon he simply removes all limbs he touches, so I have to let him unarmed at people I want to recruit. Hell, I had a guy once who went berserk next to my 20 melee janitor and that guy died the microsecond he attacked.

That's a subscribble, bell, and upvote. I've got over 1k hours in this damn game (love it) and this feels exactly like it. The art/animation is clean and well done as well right down the facial expressions and the special effects. And the in game information popping up is just mwah, chef's kiss.

RNG curses you, then blesses you, then your melee 20 tough brawler wielding a masterwork plasteel longsword does some stabbing. All is as it should be.
There's something about these animations that are just so true to Rimworld. It's a story generator, and you're on a world full of murderous psychopaths who want you dead and to take everything you have, while you're a group of people just trying to survive. Everything carries that in these animations so well, but then it just slaps you right in the face with "but this is also a video game" and brings you back with the dumbfounding events followed by that one pawn we all have that's coked up on luciferium, go-juice, and a personal vendetta against god. Gotta love it

As someone with over 3k hours (and counting) of Rimworld, I can say that this series will go on for a looong time.
RNG works against you when it's your own turrets. They injure and kill my colonists more often than enemies :D
have them infront of your colonists, raiders killing your turrets is better than them killing your men

I like that "melee guy" is animated more smoothly then anything else in this vid just to show off how much of a badass he is.
That's a subscribble, bell, and upvote. I've got over 1k hours in this damn game (love it) and this feels exactly like it. The art/animation is clean and well done as well right down the facial expressions and the special effects. And the in game information popping up is just mwah, chef's kiss.
I've seen this video 5+ times. The animation is great. The style is unique, and the tension created by the gunfire is tangible. Please do more.

There's something about these animations that are just so true to Rimworld. It's a story generator, and you're on a world full of murderous psychopaths who want you dead and to take everything you have, while you're a group of people just trying to survive. Everything carries that in these animations so well, but then it just slaps you right in the face with "but this is also a video game" and brings you back with the dumbfounding events followed by that one pawn we all have that's coked up on luciferium, go-juice, and a personal vendetta against god. Gotta love it
Would love to see more animations about various aspects of life on the RimWorld.
