I had to include 1 Explorers Of Sky soundtrack, because most of the music in this game is just the same (remixed) soundtrack. Really says something about the experience, doesn't it? EDIT: User "Salted Neos" has rightfully corrected me on something I said in this video. You don't have to level up from scratch upon starting a different version, you can access the pokémon from the other version (they keep their levels and such). This means that they make u sit through the entire story AGAIN and play all of the story levels AGAIN with overleveled mons, which might be even dumber than leveling from scratch. My bad for the misinformation, I am a bad TH-camr hihi
In the game's defense, the stacking mechanic is absolutely genius, it adds SO much depth to the strategy asnd synergy of your team members' moveset, it changes how you tackle a dungeon a lot and I would really love to see the mechanic come back! Also I like to believe not all stories have to be about saving the world, you're not even a human in this one, which is cool because there's a ton of other pokemon out there helping their local communities in small ways, that impact the bigger society in a good way, this is just one of those little stories!
Now, while I 100% agree that dealing with the 3 separate versions is a pain... BUT you don't have to level up from scratch to get the legendaries on the other versions, your Pokemon are the same across all versions on your Wii and stay at their current levels. You just can't use Pokemon that are currently on an active party of another version.
Well shit, you're actually right about that. I'll put a correction in my pinned comment. However, this might be even dumber than leveling up from scratch. They really make u sit through the entire story and play all the levels with overleveled mons? WHY
@@WordsOfWisdomForReal At the very least you don't need to grind 3 times, though if I was to guess, it was the only way to make you able to have a full roster of recruits in these games. It'd be a pain tracking 3 different movesets, EXP values, IQ values, etc for 3 separate games while also having any recruit from one go into the other 2 immediately. Not that its great game design, but as an idiot going for an ReA in every PMD, I'll gladly take not having to regrind in these games given how stupid the difficulty spikes are.
Fair enough, I can't really come up with any alternatives either if I am brutally honest. The fact that this is basically the only solution to that ReA problem, is just another reason why these games probably should have never seen the light of day😐 Just feels like such an unfinished product.
Another quality vid!!! I found you channel when I was looking for a review of mystery dungeon that wasn’t 4 minutes long or filmed by some popular pokétuber (I can’t stand most of their voices) and ended up really enjoying your style of videos. After watching your video about explorers of sky I immediately started looking for a physical copy of the game because I don’t know how to use emulators without getting a virus :/ but mostly because it looks and sounds amazing. I’ve never really followed a smaller channel before but after subbing to yours I’ve really enjoyed the fan interaction. Even though you don’t get many views on most vids you still make top quality content. Looking forward to the next vid, keep up the great work;)
Wow man this is the second heartwarming comment in 2 days now, did not expect that at all. I am just a dude who likes to play and talk about videogames, nothing special 🙈 To then have people commenting stuff like this on my videos just makes me so happy, I cant even explain. I don't get a whole lot of comments and I like to just talk to the people that check out my stuff and it's really cool to me to get to know the small audience I have, so the enjoyment in that is just as high for me. Once again thank you for this comment man, it means a lot to me. P.S. Emulators + roms are relatively easy and safe to find and use if u have decent virus protectors like malwarebytes and even something as basic as avast antivirus. I'd link u some, but i think that's against youtube TOS...
I always wanted to play this game as a kid but I couldn‘t figure out how to get it, finally I know why I couldn‘t get it, thank you! And after seeing this video I‘m happy about not playing this game, the DS games were much better.
Ah ohmygosh! I found out about this mystery dungeon game series last year and have had NO LUCK finding the files! I loved all the ds ones and I've really been searching hard but for now it's just a dream to play ! 😂💕 Nice video through !!
Damn For 40Mb this is pretty impressive, not gonna lie. But damn, if this was 2d, there could have been a lot more. Also: wellll the jump to the last rank was kind of insane in all MD games.
@@WordsOfWisdomForReal I mean I mostly picked that up when you mentionned how this was a 3D title and all of that and MOSTLY because of Slaking. Also to some extent I can also assert that these models are re-used from My pokemon ranch also on the Wii ware. So basically this game could also just be a prototype with how few things were actually made for the game (like you said in other comments)
To be fair most mystery dungeon spin offs dont have a super elaborate story, so my headcanon is that this is a window to a parallel dimension where pokemon mystery dungeon games dont have a plot
Also I don't think throwables are really meant as a direct damage, you use them in consession with angles/tunnels/corridoors and escape- at least from my knowledge and gameplay through the games. But unfortunately the ones in this game really are bad damage in comparison to the 30-50 damage you could get by throwing throwables in previous/current PMD games.
I wonder if there where released as free to play there would be more successul. At least that's the feel this games have. In fact the graphics are from Pokémon Rumble, which is also a small spin-off too.

You clearly don't get it, do you? These games are clearly *not supposed* to have a complex story. They're just fun little adventure games for children.
No, YOU clearly don't get it. I even explain why I have a problem with the story in this video: compared to literally every other entry in the pmd series it's garbage. The other pmd games have very interesting and well thought out storylines and this one is just a huge disappointment that took 0 effort. It wouldn't be as bad if the other games didn't exist yet, but even then "they're for children" isn't a valid reason to rush a plot like this. You're coming at me with this comment, when you clearly didn't listen to what I said.
@@WordsOfWisdomForReal I did listen. I'm just not that good at putting my thoughts to words. My point is, these games are not *meant* to be the same scale as the other Mystery Dungeon games. They seem to be directed towards a younger demographic than the other ones.

Explorers Story: Epic high-stakes adventure with heavy themes of friendship and facing your own mortality.
Wiiware: Chocolate yummy. :)
Almost on an equal level, I'd say🤔
Nobody mentioning that these are the pokemon models from the pokemon rumble games. Its a mystery dungeon game with toy pokemon.

pokemon models like these are also used in pokemon rumble blast, pretty cute
And Pokémon rumble
I'm just confused why does this even exist if they didn't focus on the story at all..
Or anything really.
To me it feels like this was their way of testing 3D ideas for Gates to infinity/super mystery dungeon. Just a beta/prototype with a price tag on it

As a dungeon crawler (for its price point) its not that bad.
However, has a Pokemon mystery dungeon game.... it kinda sucks
I've played it, it works and is fine but the story is crap
Yeah if they just want to make short story make it like discovery of ancient temple or something lol
lmao the models are SO kawaiiiiiii. no wonder they are Japanese exclusives. they even made Groudon the literal God of land so darn CUTE. gosh
Just like Animal Crossing censored cocktails as "Vacation Juice", Pokémon has "Compassion Cookies" which are actually ... cannabis biscuits?
