So I've heard a rumour that MN are releasing a MN86K (Mercedes G500) and an MN86KS (Brabus version!). If that is the case, MN could WIN the Budget Truck game.... as long as they make the truck FULLY PROPORTIONAL! WPL are also releasing a WPL C54 (Toyota Land Cruiser)

I do like an MN wheel and tyre, but that's about all that inspires me with their products.

Mine is arriving in the next day or so and I was under the impression it had a servo and metal gears. What a disappointment those gears will not last long.
Guess I better order some replacement electronics.

Yes, and, if like me you previously read the answers to the questions at the bottom of the Banggood page, they were saying it had proportional steering or was fully proportional. Crap.
@@747fa there are advertisements stating that it has a 17g servo which would indicate proportional steering.
Have a look at AliExpress and checkout the description you’ll see the specs listing 260 motor, 17g steering gear
And that battery location....why on earth would you want extra weight in the back. How do you take all these steps forward and the come out with a product like this. Hard pass

It's Garbage because it is meant for a child. I bought one similar to that and the gears just skipped the entire time so I shelf it and renamed it The Skipper
That's just unnecessary cost cutting. Probably just using up old parts they had hanging around.

That does look, and behave, like a toy.
WPL chassis is so much better, my mn90 is still running no issues but no comparison to a modified WPL

You can tell just by looking at it that it's a tail heavy design with too short a wheelbase Phil. WPL's C44KM knocks this into a cocked hat ability wise. I don't like this release from MN Models either,it's a backward step for them.

Yes, it isn't very impressive unless you like doing wheelies all the time. And, as you have the link in the description above, I might add that PREVIOUSLY, both the answers to questions on the bottom of the Banggood page were misleading as to whether or not it was fully proportional, AND, if you look closely at the photo of the two transmitters on the same page you will find they're the type that you'd get with the MN99S! Misleading.
Yes agree.... it's miss leading. I always point this out to my Banggood rep. They get the details from the manufacturer, so sometimes it's not their fault the information is wrong. Although if I was running a business, I'd not want to give out false info!
Dont understand why manufacturers spend effort on bling instead of function! Nice lights but crap steering-Doh!

It's a bit rubbish isn't it? I think for the price there are many really good alternatives... even within its own models. Just get the body and interchange with your mn99s... but for a crawler it is very basic spec. Good honest review though Phil👍🏼👍🏼

The worst part of it is that is not fj40 it is a fj45 with a camper on it the corners in the back are square like 45 not like 40 the back tire should be moved more to the back also

You know what would be cool. A battery that slides into a door that you can open and close. Probably is already a thing.
I have one on the way i also have the mnd90 and 45 love them both you have to expect to do upgrades on these but with some work they are great trail trucks and good looking hard body fun to paint

New parts truck mate. .builed a new one.
They did already kill it with the MN45 and this ugly, absolutely non-scale wheelbase. While WPL with the C44KM did a top job (longer wheelbase than C34), MN totally spoiled this truck, as the MN40.
Did not yet finish my MN45 for nearly a year (?) now, shortened the bed, however, there is no (!!!) Land Cruiser Pickup with short wheelbase (only custom builds), so not scale.
The crappy electronics are not important for me (buy kit, if possible, anyway, and if RTR never would use the electronics), as for many of the "scale builders".
It is the akward look with the too short wheelbase, that kills the MN Land Cruiser models. WPL showed how this is to do with C34 and C44.
And there are more things (height), which make the MN40/45 look not scale at all, and you cannot change.
What I also hate: The lights on the fenders, WTF? Why are they not removable? Part of the fender... makes upgrading so much more difficult...
However, still love the MN90 series of their trucks.
C44 is one of the best cheap scale trucks out there!
Is it possible if I put the MN40 body onto the MN99s chassis?

Oh, man - i had been really looking forward to this release! All summer I´ve been waiting for this truck and for episode 2 of The Grand Tour. They were the two shining lights in the future. Why, oh why have MN Models put plastic gears in it with a 260 motor? We know the plastic gears can barely handle the "torque" (hah!) of a 130, so why , MN, WHY?
As for the bang-bang steering...well, I´m speechless.
What if episode 2 turns out to be crap as well?
I seriously doubt that though ,anything with the trio is awesome

The MN 40 is still worth getting, I suppose, though I´d also want to order a set of metal geared axle innards as well as a new radio, esc and steering servo, which is starting to look expensive. It might even work out cheaper to get an RTR MN 45 for the body and fit that to an MN 96 or 99 chassis.

@@scot0811 I´ve got one which I won in a TH-cam giveaway. It´s an RTR but has metal gears and shafts, a 180 motor, full propo steering and soft tyres.
I then shortened an MN 45´s body, fitted a 180 & full propo steering and sorted out the realism issues the body has, but I still want to see MN Models do right by the Land Cruiser fans and give us the same square deal the Defender guys get.

144001 fast out of the box but you can make it go faster 👍🏻
Honestly, after 2 WPLs, a Fayee 0003a, and finally an MN99s (which I fully upgraded with all the metal parts one can buy, now it actually makes sense - and I do love the thing $200USD+ later) I think I am done with cheap plastic RCs. They're fun to tinker with if you're on a budget. BUT, even then, if you buy all the upgrade parts, you're in to them for as much as you'd pay for a 1/10 crawler which is 10x's as fun and far more capable.
I'd rather buy a mn99s

Sup mate. So do you have any tips for the diffs on the wpl c24. I just got the metal diff.. my Problem is that the differentials don't last too long in the strip the ring gear constantly and run it on brushless 3600kv 2445. Motor.
I was super excited when i saw you made a video on this. Just about cracked my phone screen as i really want one. 260, soft tires, yes please non proportional steering that sucks but not a deal breaker as long as the steering isnt loud. PLASTIC GEARS?!?!?! DAMMIT!

If I ever get my 9 packages I ordered in Nov. from china I can check the MN86K, Xaiomi Jimny, & the WPL D12 out. =P I have to say I can't believe how cheap some, well most RC companies are becoming. Not so much these cheaper RC models from china but my Axial SCX10 ii XJ kit ($350) had to buy steel pivot balls for links, they come with plastic on the kit version?! Shocks (skinny bore wimpy leaking junk) sucked & replaced just after I built it.. Used Gmade Zero's btw which are the bomb.
I mean a Flysky GT3B TX with a WP 3 channel RX is what $35 to the public, so they would be $15 for a set for someone buying thousands, (AE, TLR, ARRMA, TRX are you listening?!). Still they try to give you the most kid/toy TX they can find for RTR's. I bet most pay about $20 for their Electrics if that, (esc/rx, tx, servo & brushed motor) these days even on name brand kits, which is just sad. When companies take proportional steering from a kit that had it b4 or dumb down something to save on cost that was already popular because of said functions, I can't understand that company staying in business very long..
Hello I love watching your channel I recently got a hold of a few wlp RCs I'm trying to figure out how to put the single speed 370 motor with single speed metal transmission like the one that you have on your c44. But I want to put that transmission and engine in a c24. I only have one drive shaft that I will believe fits since I did not put it completely in I did not completely test it but the front drive shaft off of the c44 kit metal version fits but I don't know where to order another one from I only have one drive shaft for my c24 and transmission what length does the drive shaft need to be to fit
Heh, once I wanted to buy this rc in kit version, but canceled right away when I realized bout the battery tray is in back-under body could be trouble for climbing. Hence more plus points for WPL C34 and C44.

The MN40+ the $170 metal chassis = a great time! OMG! You have to do it.! Please!!!!! The body is awesome! Yeah they messed up on the bang bang steering, but I didn't even care about anything but that shell. For me? It's a win. So you're talking about low$200s for a killer 1/12 trail truck? I'm all in. you always go negative on the value small scale stuff, id rather these MN and WPL than any over priced axial or gelande. while your doing them come across a 1/14 F1 or F2 on nabggood, see what thats like.
Most of my channel is giving cheap small scale stuff positive reviews. This one is a let down if you consider what is on the market for the same price 👍🏻

Do MN or WPL sell a proportional steering servo that can just plug on to the MN40 board? {Although the plastic gears put me right off.}
Stock board won't take 3wire servo. Need new board.
