WPL have really upped their game lately. Now I'm not saying they are on the level of the big manufacturers but they are producing some nice stuff nowadays.
Dude this is why I still say your the king of cheap rc, you git them and let us know if great or just utter trash. Hell if it can't go over my hand it doesn't deserve to touch any rc course. Keep up the honesty we all love the truth and not some bs that people most likely just read off some script the manufacturer sends with the product. Cheers.
My son has the 99s and when it arrived to him it acted the same exact way. Ended up ordering a new motor and esc . Which ran better for a spell, but has since lost reverse. I bought a 2 pack of both 260 size motor and 30 amp esc, so I’m gonna try replacing the esc. I think MN got a bad batch of electronics at some point and we bought the bad ones. I’ll be crossing my fingers😬😵💫😝 good honest review!🏆☕️👊🏼
Sounds about right, I had ordered an mn d99s for my girlfriend and out the box the box it's been a torqueless unit. I've placed a few pen springs inside the shocks due to no decompression as soon as it had hit the wet outdoors and was not the same even after cleaning and reassembling each strut. Good luck on the 260 replacement I may go 370 two speed at this point
definitely eBay order up a couple 280 motors, same diameter but 1/4 to 5/16" longer and lots more torque from small input power. you may need to slot the mount screw holes a little to put it home. they're only about 2 bucks each
MN's gearbox with a 260 is adequate for a 2 axle C14, but just not enough power for my weighted MN D-90. slipping a 2 dollar 280 motor in it did wonders but... that thang got 3 axles worth of parasitic drag!

Needs a stronger motor. I just got the mn86sb and it's awesome. 390 20t motor. Full proportional. Granted it has stock mn electronics which...isn't ideal to be honest, but it's strong enough to break driveshaft ujoints. Currently upgrading to metal driveshafts.
I took a wpl c24 box stock and ran it on a 5000mah 50c lipo . Just to see what it would do. Only did it to see how durble there were. It made it for about 30 mints

You think people would pick up on the fact you don't wanna review junk and that is why alot of your reviews positive. People he only is gonna show stuff he thinks you will like and he will like. He doesn't like or wanna show/review junk. There's enough good rc that you don't have to review junk.
Really doesn't look like proportional throttle that does it and it shame because the mn98 was great lil thing and that sucks and id always go for wpl over them I love my lil c24 it goes pretty much everywhere my scx10.3 does 👌
The first run of WPL trucks were absolute crap. But after several years of customer feedback, they kept upping the quality. WPL trucks are good for the price out of the box now. MN Models are just knockoff WPL trucks. They build them as cheaply as possible. But all of the WPL upgrades are a direct fit.

there is a chance a 2 dollar 280 motor will be enough power, that is, if the ESC section will feed it enough current to spin low rpms. 280 can deliver more torque from less current, but there has to be enough available.

This is not strong rig. Just need upgrade some of parts especially the motor.
