- Hey guys, today I'll be showing you how to play MkWii online on Dolphin. This method is the newer that one uses you're real Wii's Nand. If you have a question or get stuck please leave a question below or DM me on discord Falto#7819, I'll try to respond as soon I can. Link to download the patcher: (note use the latest version, but remember that they changed up some of the menu numberings, so you might have to click a different number to do the same command as me)

IMPORTANT NOTE: Make sure you are using only ".iso" not "nkit.iso". If you happen to only have "nkit.iso", the patcher will not work and you need to convert it to a ".iso" using this link

Some things you will need before we begin:
-Real Wii that is homebrewed with Bootmii
-SD card
-MKWii ISO
-Dolphin 5.0
Simple text instructions:
1. Copy Wii's Nand to SD card
2. Load the Nand into Dolphin
3. Change Dolphin's Mac Address to match your Wii's
4. Patch MKWii Iso
5.Done
NOTES:
- The footage in the second half of the video looks choppy because I had to use Screen-O-Matic and it sucks in terms of FPS - เกม

@@FrostyPlayzYT There are several converters that can turn your wbfs into an iso. I would recommend Wii Backup Manager.

Managed so do it completely on Mac! took me a whole day but it works!! Also I do have to wait 7 days because my console has been "registered." Fantastic video!! Like + Sub!!!
@Chase Thompson I used virtual box with a windows 10 iso I found online to open the file with. It took me the longest out of everything

So Before I tried it I had a color problem with my wii, Basically red was a greenish yellow, pink was grey and green was yellow too.
When I launched bootmii for the first time, I had a black screen and my wii was flashing blue so I turned it off and on again and now the color are back to normal.
11/10 tutorial, fixed something I didn't even asked for.

Thanks man! This was a great video, followed all the steps and it worked great! Now I just have to wait 7 days lol. Btw I would recommend recording with OBS Studio instead of the Screencast thing your using as its a lot better for recording overall.

@@Dance_Party yes. You just copied your Wii’s nand to a different “console” I should say. But yeah your Wii will function normally

when I try to use the rii connect 24 patcher it keeps saying We didn't save any .WAD files together with the patcher.
We cannot continue under the appropriate summer conditions. and it does not give me the wimmifi-images folder. help pls
see the thing is the only reason we're using dolphin is bc our wii isn't working. its ten times easier to play mkwii online with an actual wii

So I did it trying to play PMEX REMIX online... I went to the online section and it didn't work. I then tried normal Brawl and that didn't work at all either. What am I doing wrong? I followed all of the steps perfectly. Does Wiimmifi just not work for PMEX REMIX or Brawl?
For clarification: When I go to online it doesn't go to a new menu it just acts like I was trying on a vanilla Wii.
Worked, and now I can play onine again!

i have a problem< when i open the riiconnect patcher and start it and do everything and then pressed 5 at the third screen to patch wii disc to work with wimmfi it has a error code every time telling me that i need to have better connection. how do i fix

hey, what can i do if when i press "launch bootmii" it never gets thru the black screen? like, it just keeps loading, the wii is flashing blue where you put the discs but nothing happens.

Hi, I followed all the steps but when I booted up the MKWii patched version it came up with Error Code 50200 (Unable to Connect to the internet) Do I have to wait seven days? Really good tutorial btw. Thanks In Advance!
*Update: I have found the problem and I fixed it For anyone with the Same Problem here's how to fix it*
You have to check your internet settings in the Wii Settings (In Dolphin) Match your Internet Type (Wifi = Wireless, Ethernet = Wired) and now you should be registered, Hope This Helps!

I dont see internet settings in wii config.i see misc settings, usb passthroughs, and wiimote settings. Dont see anything about internet, help
I just did everything you mentioned on the tutorial and waited the 7 days to play online. But after that, when I try to play online the game turns pretty laggy and is almost impossible to play(it only happens when I'm in a online race) Do you know how can I fix it?

You need a better PC probably.
Turn on Hybrid Ubershaders in the Graphics options on Dolphin. Also check the box where it says "Compile Shaders Before Start". Will make the game run better.

think i completely messed my wii up because i ripped mario galaxy 2 off the disc with cleanrip and nothing will launch on my homescreen :( but good video though! wish i could test this out because i cannot stand 480p anymore with the wii and i always upscale my games on dolphin to 4k
I just downloaded the latest version 7.5 of the Wiimmfi patch and yet I have this error message. I don't know if it's normal that I have this?

is there a way to do this without an SD card, I got my original Wii from 2011 and it is homebrewed but my SD card is now written protected, and yes, I've tried everything I could to remove the write protection.
You could just copy all the contents over to another SD card if it's not also copy protected and go from there.
What if we don't we don't have a working Wii but we have dolphin and a Mario kart Wii iso, can it still work just fine by leaving the Mac address the way it is?
Sadly no. No matter what it wont work without a real working wii.

@@NoGoodNameHelpPLZ You CAN use a NAND generator but Wiimmfi is a lot more sophisticated nowadays at detecting if you have an artificial NAND so your mileage may vary on that. If all else fails there exists a Wiimmfi alternative but its not as sophisticated at stopping cheaters dead in their tracks. If you are desperate give it a shot. I believe that server is called AltWFC.
With dolphin can you play against people that use CTGP? I noticed that I was actually racing against you in the opening clip as the peach mach bike because I recognized my mii but I've only played online with CTGP on an actual console.

Dolphin is pretty much just normal mario kart wii/mkw with Riivolution mods
You can only play against them if they do not play CTWW, or any CTGP-specific room.
Does the region of the game have to match the console because I have a pal Wii and can only find a NTSC iso
UPDATE (Jan 2021):
It has to my attention that the Wiimmfii Patcher might be broken where after patching the images folder is completely empty, however, I tested it on the latest patcher, and it works perfectly, I have a feeling you guys used "nkit.iso" not ".iso"...so make sure you are only using ".iso"...use this link to convert the "nkit.iso" to ".iso"

UPDATE (July 2020):
-Recently I found out that sometimes dolphin will automatically reset Mac address when you open it, so if you get errors trying to connect that might be why....to fix that you should change Mac address (to match Wii's) and keep trying
-If you already had to wait 7 days on your Wii you will most likely NOT have to wait, but if you never waited 7 days on Wii you WILL have to wait 7 days on Dolphin!
Also at 6:34 you need to choose 5 not 4 (Because they updated it)

The way I did it was slightly different from your but it still worked. I grabbed the nand off of my Wii and put it where dolphin could see it and then I used the emulated version of The Homebrew channel to launch that wiimmfi patcher

Since my Wii isn't set up, I decided to try this while omitting the NAND and Mac Address steps... and by some miracle, it seems to have worked! I have to wait the 7 day entry period of course, but fingers crossed. There wasn't any sort of error codes otherwise. Can someone tell me why this worked? Do you think I'll actually be able to connect?

i feel stupid to ask but i had max cc on and i did not know and got into battle mod when i was playing wit my freind then my dolphin frozed and i got banned and i did not know it at frist

Dude, this means is not possible to play with MY own WII, vs DOLPHIN , right? I mean if they will us ethe same NAND and same mac address...this means is like connect a console against tself, isn it?

I know no one has really been here recently, so even though I'm kind of screaming into the void, I'll still ask. I used to play Smash Bros Brawl competitively and recently I've been getting back in to it (although I'm only against lvl 9 cpus). I know Wiimmfi has been worked on for many games, but does Brawl work with it? I'm playing Melee with Slippi against people who can 3 or 4 stock me. Many thanks.

Yes, you don't even need to have played mkwii on that wii at all, it has no bearing on the process.

My wii does not support Bootmii, I have already tried in the past, and don't know why, but apparently some wiis simply does not support the bootmii. My wii keeps crashing when i click. Can you suggest anything else to me?
Rodrigo Marote you might have a newer Wii, you should look up how to copy your NAND
loaded it up and bootmii was not there?
The patcher says it has patched the game , but there is no resulting file in the "Wiimmfi images" folder. And my ISO file's latest modification date is still when I downloaded it. Any help would be v appreciated :)

Basically, I did another method and used my NAND and it told me to wait 7 days. But I didn't want to so I came here and I thought I could skip the wait. To do this tutorial I reset Dolphin and my game and but I kept the NAND from when I used the other video, but it is still making me wait. I don't mind waiting but I don't wanna wait for no reason for it to be messed up. Am I good or not

Ok, that method doesn't work..I've tested that like 5 times lol....Idk why the guy put 2020 as the title...following that video I get to the 7 days wait but after the wait is over....the counter resets to 7 days so it's a never ending loop

it means bootmiis files are not on SD card Launch Letter bomb with the HackMii installer and click "Prepare An SD Card" under the bootmii option

so would this be possible if my pc that im running dolphin on doesnt have an sd card slot in it, but my old laptop does have an sd card slot?
yes you would just need to copy the NAND from your SD card to your old laptop, then you can either upload to google drive (the NAND) and download it to your new laptop or use a USB to copy it to your new laptop
