To go back to the topic of speed-running. Sometimes speedrunners will prefer older patches that contain exploits (bugs) that require timing/skill to decrease overall time. A prime example is GTA 5 speed-running, Rockstar saw runners exploits and patched all of them out over time, so almost all runners use a specific version just before the exploits were removed!
