Lowkey obsessed with this technique now. A really fun way to destash that can bring out a bit of untapped potential in papers I likely would’ve overlooked. The sandpaper is really what ties everything together imo, I can’t get enough of the texture and how big the difference you get just from a little ‘distressing’.
I'm so glad you love it too! I'm going to try some other approaches in future videos and see what happens but I agree, the texture from the sandpaper is amazing.
@@journalingplanet I’d love to see it! I reckon paint, inks, stencils and stamps would look stunning on them too. They sure will be plenty to experiment.
@@journalingplanet I was a HUGE X-Files fan too! My hub is a minimalist so my subscription to SFX and Fortean Times is on a 1-in-1-out basis! LOL! I watched your video while clipping last month's!
Lol. That is a very strict, but understandable, rule about magazines! I was also a big fan of Buffy, Angel, Star Wars etc - and still am! My favourite recent sci-fi has been the Supergirl TV series.
Really liked the idea of de collage never tried it before .. so should be exciting ! ..Thankyou
I hope you got on well with it! It's a lot of fun once you get going!

@@roseymatilda745 absolutely. The embellishment possibilities are endless. It's an exciting project.
Very good
Thanks so much!
Very interesting video I've never seen or heard of this
I learned about it on an art course I took a while ago and just realized how useful it could be for a junk journal. 🤣
This is not the technique for me personally, but did I spot an SFX magazine in there?
Yes!!! I've hoarded old sci-fi magazines for years 🙈🙈🙈 finally decided to use them for something. I was a big fan of The X Files in its day.

@@journalingplanet I was in our local paper as Brighton's biggest Buffy fan back in the day!! I am more Trek than Wars though LOL!
I like Trek also! I'm pretty flexible with my sci-fi loyalties. 🤣 I love the fact that you championed Buffy in Brighton!
