I had the same problem with my 426, bought it from a sand rider on the cheap. I mainly ride single track so it wasn’t an issue but it always bugged me. Ya’ll gave me the confidence to tackle this problem. MUCH APPRECIATED brothers

Ricardo Lopez like it's hard to kick? To start or you have to kick it a lot? Do you have the right spark plug in it? I know the PO of this bike just slapped some random jobby in this and it did run 100% I put the right plug and it worked flawless. I can't remember the exact plug but it has 2 prongs not just 1 like a typical plug
Can't wait until 2 stroke vs 4stroke next project bike needs to be some kind of Honda because their has never Ben a Honda dirt bike on the channel good bless

Yeah they screwed up so bad on the 426 with 5th gear they always chewed them out lol so much so that the first 450 is only a 4 speed haha.
congrats.. you guys make it look easy when splitting cases.. my buddy had one and it was mean!
It wasn't all that hard on the this bike due to the tabs on the motor to help you along

Looks like handlebars are one backwards??
i have a 2001 yz250 2 stroke and when i get on it hard it does not go into 5th gear but when i cruise it does i can not figure it out
You have to use the hot start when the bike gets hot.
Vavles might need to be adjusted?
Not having any problems with them and they are in specs
It might just be technique, try one hard kick all the way at top dead center vs lots of smaller quick kicks like you would do a 2 stroke.
Lol we will figure it out lol 4 stokes are picky how you start them haha

Yes the 426 had a 5 speed. Once they made it a 450 they did a 4 speed
@@Smightification dam my 426 only has 4 guess there’s somthing wrong with it
@@foxx234 possible or they swapped it out for a 4 speed.. I know they used 450 cranks in the 426 not sure about the transmission
