You really are the kinda artist who was not born talented by birth but gradually made it this far and pushed others back . Your teaching skills are phenomenal & the fun things yousay makes it fun to learn thankyou marc i have learned alot from you more than i learned in my arts college
I’m applying a second time to an animation college after the rejected me for 1% last year, thank you for your videos mark! They really help me keep my spirits up
I'm also applying to an animation college and I wish all the best and I'm sure you will be accepted this time. Don't get demotivated! I am sure you'll do it.
Yeah people, the full course has a video of around 3 hours explaining in amazing detail every single anatomical part of all of the face. Even as someone who already did portrait professionally, I found it very useful anyway, really informative and deep, the right course to learn from scratch or to level up after being stuck on a plateau for some time. So go grab it, it's one of the few good uses of your money nowadays. Knowledge is invaluable.
I've been working on a character portrait for the last week and the nose has been absolutely kicking my butt (such an easy feature to over-complicate). Your approach was both highly appealing and flabbergastingly simple (and, therefore, brilliant). I will have to give it a try :)
Holy shit I literally needed this and was looking this up last night, this is perfect timing 🤣🤣 None other than the best art content creator on YT too, thank you Marc 🙌🏽
Your art classes have been helping me for a long time now, after a lot of practice and your tips and tutorials, now I can draw anatomy and different poses without reference! I'm still learning how to paint and stuff though
You are genuinely my favorite youtuber. You teach in fun ways. You actually have good advice. And you are not greedy wich is a good plus. Also you actually entertain even if its a tutorial video
I've watched maybe 20 videos on how to draw faces, and they're all: here's a circle, add 2 crooked lines for the jaw, add details, done. Was really helpful to have someone explain the more-or-less exact dimensions. I feel like I learned so much more from this 12 minute video than from all the others combined.
*Level 4* : Draw freehand and from imagination or reference a compelling and convincing face without construction lines or circles (A tier) *Level 5* : Draw the face like in Level 4 and from any angle and in perspective like Kim Jung Gi (S tier) *Level 6* : The (god) G tier of da Vinci, Raphael, and Michelangelo: The Realm of the gods...and Cthulhu
I'm a new subscriber who is kicking myself for not discovering this channel sooner. I was actually just viewing all of the "HOW TO COLOR YOUR DRAWINGS" videos and they were quite helpful. 😆✊
I really liked this video! Usually you get tutorials that are like "okay now draw this" but dont actually explain it -_- But I like how this one explains everything in a step by step.
just the fact that you always point out the differences between male and female is soo helpful! I feel like even my androgynous faces look more androgynous bc I csn choose a middle ground when I know the differences :) thanks so much for this awesome tutorial!
I just want to tell you how much you've helped with faces! I watched one of your old videos which had to do with faces and helped jump a high gap that I have been struggling with. I just started drawing and man you just get straight to the point unlike other artists. Again, thank you soo much.
I love that you kept in you trying to draw the circle several times over as it gave me a little peace of mind seeing that even a professional is at the mercy of that simple shape lol I have pretty shakey hands and I refuse to use line stabilizer as I feel like it'd become a crutch so almost every attempt I make for drawing a circle comes out egg or ellipse shaped. Even more maddeningly, when I try to actually draw an ellipse or egg I fail at it horribly lol
I normally dont go to youtube for art tutorials, since usually just practicing more is the awnser but I have to admit, this just absolutely trumped 2 days of practice. I just recently got in to illustration instead of just referencing and I was having a hard time figuring out a way of consistently drawing the 3/4 head. This way of doing it works so well for me and I'm very grateful.
This is exactly what I needed! I've been struggling with faces recently. I purchased the art course and I'm super excited to start. With how helpful these short youtube art school videos are, I'm sure I'll level up fast with the course. Thanks Marc!
Hey @ddk2358 , I hope you are doing well. What are you thinking about the course? There's any part of the course where it teaches how to draw faces like this one?
dude.. i love you. ive been learning drawing for like 8 years but since im lazy i never really put much effort into getting better since im never satisfied with what i did, and drawing faces without copying a reference pose was the hardest for me and i never found videos that were actually good at teaching how to draw them but this... is truly the best video ive ever seen on how to draw like anything!! thank you so much for this
My lord of savior, Marc, thank you once again for making my day BETTER. I'm still struggling on head proportions and you saved me. Even more, I was completely elated that you gave us free 3D models (I've been dreaming of it) !! 😭
Holy… one of the reasons why marc brunet is the best he explains things to be so simple to understand even though there is allot of info, i also love the fact that he always has the art style preferences of other people on his mind
I love how you tell us the reason why you do certain things. Whenever other tutorials told me to draw a guideline or a specific shape I just tried to do it like them but didnt understand what and why they were doing that. your tutorials gave me a much better understanding why you draw things like you do. good job
Hi Marc! Idk if you'll see this, but after watching your last video and hearing about your expectations and standards about yourself, I want to let you know: To me, YOU ARE THE BEST ART TEACHER OUT THERE. You are literally the best mentor any artist could ask for. I know, you can't impress everyone, but I want you to know how close you actually are to your goal. Thanks for being amazing, mate.
"Shoo, shoo". I love your little asides, they make the videos fun and enthusiastic. This is a nice quick reference for when I get caught up when someone while being informative enough that it's good for more in depth practice. Thank you.
Wooohooo! Early! Needed this! I've been trying to practice faces for awhile! I even watched the previous video and expressions (which I'm still having problems with ^^;)
as someone who’s currently ABSOLUTELY BINDGE WATCHING all of your videos (being subbed w notifications on and liking them all ofc) this is exactlyyy what i needed! i love the way you teach and thank you for doing these videos they help me so much!
I'm currently in the gaming track of Uni and I would like to become a concept artist. But my skills were never up to par. After watching your videos my skills skyrocketed tremendously. To be able to get poses and angles from my head to paper is awesome! Honestly hope to improve more in due time to become a good enough game concept artist. Keep up the great work Teach!
let's agree Marc is underrated. he teaches us how to draw stuff for free + he is not like other artists, saying practice is the only key! thank you Marc!
Hi Marc, first of all I’m from Brasil, so If I do any mistakes on my english, please ignore. I just want to say that your work on the youtube art school is awsome and I’ve never seen in any other chanel someone that do as much as you.
I’ve watched a lot of face/head/portrait anatomy/construction videos including your own, and this has by far been one of the most helpful. I know you said your goal is to be the best art teacher, and I believe you’re well on your way if not there. Thank you so, so much!
In the new year I was just thinking of asking you Marc to do a new face drawing tutorial I come in today and I see this video. Thank you for every episode and for the fact that I can learn a lot. Thanks
Working my way through first Art School term, but ALL of your videos are so great and they've really helped! I always recommend your videos to people who ask how to draw things!
I just found this and by God, this has been so helpful setting the foundation for me. The nice quick guide in the importance of cheekbones, jawline, and skull are GREAT! Great for someone dumb like me ahahah
My specialty has been portraiture from reference for a while now and even I learned from this video. Just found your channel a couple of weeks ago and wanted to tell you that you are the teacher I craved while going into debt on "art school". I can confirm that noses and ears can be quite a challenge, mostly because they are forgiving due to variation and how little the eyes focus on them when viewing the face as a whole. When drawn wrong it's hard to know "why". Your tips help narrow down where issues are. I would love to see you do dedicated videos to these overlooked parts like you did with hands and feet.
Hi Marc! I’m early for class! Congratulations on 8,000 students. Happy to know I am one of them :D Amazing video as usual! Question: when are the student critiques posted on youtube? I sincerely learn so much from them. They are a treat to watch.
A problem I always face when learning how to draw is that I never finish a video till the end as I just lost interest/get distracted very quickly because of the monotone voiceovers and repetitive words that don’t help as much. Your videos are exceptionally interesting and every minute is informative, which really pushes me to pay attention and I learn a lot from them!
This video really boosted my confidence in learning how to draw. I'd lost motivation cause it felt like i couldn't just get drawing right. But after stumbling to this video and trying out your techniques, I'd say that I'm now more than motivated to keep practicing my drawing skills. Thank you so much Marc!
Marc thank you again for creating such fantastic content. As someone who is caveman-levels behind (pencil and paper), have you ever made a video on starter guides for digital art? Talent is meaningless without practice
I think he was pretty talented from the start as well but he also put in crazy amounts of practice

ye drawing is one of the skills what everyone can learn with hard practice
Literally thats a video I needs for my recent pratice of head. I have been searching on youtube and look what i get. A lot thank you.
