Brilliantly written and acted! The movie industry of the past 50 years had so much education to absorb from their ancestry...yet the majority have chosen to throw it all away! What an absolute shame!!! Masterfully done!!!
I love every second of this gritty film, one of the greatest gangster film noir ever made, in my opinion, especially the end, when Cagney, juggling one too many balls, finally drops them all.
Thank god for memes that movie resurfaced again. I wouldn’t ever have known about it if it weren’t for the famous coffee scene, and to my surprise it was a really good movie
@@kiwitrainguy ....yeah....if we could only go back in time to the Hayes Code....and substitute violence for sex......we might be in a different place right now......
Odd how the Helena Carter character has a British accent, but her father doesn't. L ooks like Kenneth Tobey in front row behind the 7 accused men in the courtroom at the beginning. Is that possible? Does he show up later? I guess I should finish watching the rest of the movie to fin out.
I thought when you swore an oath to tell the truth on the Witness stand you had to put your hand in the Bible (Not that it makes any difference) but it was missing in the Court scene at the begiinning of the Movie
@jameshogan6142 we both agree, heat is a classic gangster film . Solid in all departments. Cagney makes this film well worth watching even if not reaching the heights of heat.
James Cagney the Very Best. 👍🏻 We had other Great actors but Mr Cagney had a special talent.

As soon as I saw Cagney. I knew it would be a good watch.😊
Carney...a legend....and a favorite of mine Neville Brand...great noir bad guy!

emotions..👍
This movie is fantastic!
Great flick...why have i never heard of this Cagney gem before!
Great film. Thanks for showing.
Barbara Payton LIVES
James Cagney Has THUG LIFE Written All Over Him Total Playa!!!
James Cagney knew how to do a face plant! 😂 during the escape, first of movie.
Ward Bond and Barton McClain team up again. Brilliant in The Maltese Falcon.
I was wondering if anyone else noticed . . .
The ultimately tragic Barbara Payton is seen to good advantage here
A classic.
Seperate beds on their wedding night. Worst wedding night ever...😄
One could wonder how couples had children😂
The Hayes Code.
Great movie I love to dialect candy is always a one-time great the dialect and his smile on his laughter😂
Huh?
No cctv s , no geolocationary mobile phones, no satellite surveillance: new states, new lives.
Same director directed a really terrific old SF/horror film: THEM! Giant ants vs law and order. Better than it sounds.
Starring James Whitmore and James Arness, it is a really good movie.
Ward Bond as a bad guy....wow
i like ward, great actor, he had a smallish role in the maltese falcon but was terrific.
Thank god for memes that movie resurfaced again. I wouldn’t ever have known about it if it weren’t for the famous coffee scene, and to my surprise it was a really good movie
This is the second movie I opened and just like the previous one, it started with a cut at the beginning. Why is it so? Thanks for posting.
they cut of the intro for Copyright reasons
@@christop_bader Thank you for informing me.
They put ads for other movies at the end so you couldn’t see who the brother was
This would be a great double feature with “Say Hello To Yesterday”.
Tripple feature . White Heat
James Cagney
We need more men like Cagney in this world. The OWO has made men into wimps.
What is OWO?
Nice movie! Too much ambitiousness leads to death.
We interrupt these ads to bring you parts of a movie! Sorry about the movie!

....jeez.... all these comments on the separate beds.....hasn't anybody seen the Dick Van Dyke show????......
The Hayes Code was in full force at that time.

And before Dick vanDyke, Lucy and Desi.
They cant even weite movies ths good anymore
weite ? I use spell check and proof read before i post and some times I edit too. : They can't write movies this good anymore. you're welcome.
Besides, not writing good movies, we don't have the good actors anymore, because in those days , they were staged trained.
Barbara Payton had a troubled life. Several Marriages & a Relationship with Woody Strode...frowned upon during that era.
Including drugs and alcohol. She passed away very young 39 years old. It breaks my heart. She was very talented.

It is Kenneth Tobey.
Yeah , it’s a transatlantic “accent” Fake accent most of those bums picked up , a mix of American and British
How many on trial here? The whole town
1:00:30 I’m sorry, but Cagney was around 51, here, and he looked it. He certainly didn’t look to be a man of 37, IMO.
Riveting performance !

…twin beds lol
The Hayes Code.
Didn’t know there was a Joe Pesci Sr.
Man he has a bunch of movies
Makes sense if you think about it.
sound!!!
I hate it when the women grovel after being smacked around.
I hate it when men hit women.
They should grovel BEFORE
34:40 Cutting edge wire tapping! On vinyl!
Probably acetate, not a lot of magnetic tape in those days.
He needs to shut up 😡 early in the morning 🌅, smh.
40:58 That car is blastin.
Yeah, smoke!
What British car is that?
Rolls Royce.
1939 Delage D8 120 Cabriolet De Luxe (French, not British)

Love Cagney but this felt very slapped together.
Cagney at his best or should I say worst.
Cagney is NOT at his worst, in might be the movie because it has always been compared to white heat.
@@randyacuna5643 Ma Jarret adds that extra dimension to White Heat to make it a better movie but this one is at least 95% as good.
