Spider-Man is a superhero appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. Created by writer-editor Stan Lee and artist Steve Ditko, he first appeared in the anthology comic book Amazing Fantasy #15 (August 1962) in the Silver Age of Comic Books. He has been featured in comic books, television shows, films, video games, novels, and plays.
Spider-Man's secret identity is Peter Benjamin Parker, a teenage high school student and an orphan raised by his Aunt May and Uncle Ben in New York City after his parents Richard and Mary Parker died in a plane crash. Lee and Ditko had the character deal with the struggles of adolescence and financial issues and gave him many supporting characters, such as Flash Thompson, J. Jonah Jameson, and Harry Osborn; romantic interests Gwen Stacy, Mary Jane Watson, and the Black Cat; and enemies such as the Green Goblin, Doctor Octopus, and Venom. In his origin story, Spider-Man gets his superhuman spider-powers and abilities after being bitten by a radioactive spider; these include superhuman strength, agility, reflexes, stamina, durability, coordination, and balance, clinging to surfaces and ceilings like a spider, and detecting danger with his precognition ability called "spider-sense". He builds wrist-mounted "web-shooter" devices that shoot artificial spider-webs of his own design, which he uses both for fighting and for web-swinging across the city. Peter Parker originally used his powers for his own personal gain, but after his Uncle Ben was killed by a thief that Peter could not stop, he began to use his powers to fight crime by becoming Spider-Man.
Marvel has featured Spider-Man in several comic book series, the first and longest-lasting of which is The Amazing Spider-Man. Over the years, the Peter Parker character developed from a shy, nerdy New York City high school student to a troubled but outgoing college student, then a married high school teacher, and, in the late 2000s, a single freelance photographer. In the 2000s, he joins the Avengers. Doctor Octopus also took on the identity for a story arc spanning 2012-2014, following a body swap plot in which Peter appears to die.[9] Marvel has also published comic books featuring alternate versions of Spider-Man, including Spider-Man 2099, which features the adventures of Miguel O'Hara, the Spider-Man of the future; Ultimate Spider-Man, which features the adventures of a teenage Peter Parker in the alternate universe; and Ultimate Comics: Spider-Man, which depicts a teenager named Miles Morales who takes up the mantle of Spider-Man after Ultimate Peter Parker's apparent death. Miles later became a superhero in his own right and was brought into mainstream continuity, where he sometimes works alongside Peter.

What I enjoy about Raimi's Venom is that Eddie's grudge against Spidey were genuinely a result of Peter's callousness, as opposed to Comics Eddie, who simply found himself betting on the wrong horse during the Sin Eater debacle and wrongfully deflected blame onto Spidey.

Raimis Venom gained majority of it’s inspiration from the 1994 Spider-Man TAS. Which doesn’t follow the comic book origin of the symbiote and venom, which actually turned out to be a great idea.
@@wyattlundrigan4740 ironically i think this is why the movie didint work. the eddie brock on the show had reasonable motivations to hate spider-man. even tho spider-man was doing the right thing his efforts to help did stymie eddie's career while he was doing legitimate and then foiling a few poorly thought out revenge schemes in which he was either a major or supporting part. this worked because it allowed eddie lots of episodes to develop making his motivations easier to grasp and cut a bit deeper. whereas the movie well better left unsaid
Me too he was always been my favorite bad guy and I was expecting him to make his return in no way home, but never had. But hopefully he might appear next year for the next Venom movie incases there’s further consequences because you may not know when his back is turned.
Willem Dafoe was perfect as Green Goblin, in seconds he goes from Norman to a psychopath who really shows how Green Goblin is the Joker to Spider-Man’s Batman. He’s honestly up there with my favorite movie villains of all time behind Thanos and of course Darth Vader
Though in terms of design, that easily goes to Mysterio, that suit is sick, and the fact they not only kept the fishbowl, but made it work is something I commend them for

I think Goblin is the best villain in the entire MCU. Most of their villains we are told to relate to or understand their motives which is good writing but sometimes I just wanna see a vindictive psychopath who just enjoys chaos.

Ok holy sh*t your pitch for bringing back Mysterio sold me. I love the character but I was kinda against bringing him back… but man what you described is the perfect way to do it. Plus it would be really cool to have Mysterio be MCU Spidey’s recurring arch nemesis

I think that MCU Mac Gargan should become the Scorpion, fight Black Suit Spider-Man, bond with the symbiote when Peter abandons it, and become the Venom of the MCU. This would allow the MCU to have its own distinct version of Venom and pay tribute to Gargan's stint as Venom in the comics.

I feel Miguel is a lot more fucked up than a lot of people acknowledge. He hid the death of the other Miles (edit: I meant the other Miguel), denying an innocent man a proper burial and deceiving his family into thinking he’s their loved one.
Also I absolutely agree with you on Mysterio. The fun thing about Mysterio to me is that, if you really think about it, he’s the one villain Marvel _cannot_ kill. Quentin Beck may have been the one pulling the strings but he had an entire team behind him, a team that’s still out there and still has the tech they need to recreate him. Unless literally every single member of his crew gets wiped, Mysterio still lives.
He did all of that only to be proven wrong in the same movie but he doesn't top Goblin for me or even makes my top 10 because at the end of the day he is still a spiderman

I knew nothing of your channel going into this video, but I’m so happily surprised to see another person as in-love with Mysterio as I am. Literally my favorite comic book villain of all time and I think the MCU adaptation does such a brilliant job of modernizing the character and maintaining every aspect of Quentin Beck’s character traits and the qualities of his that make him Spider-Man’s best villain
I’ve come to appreciate tophers venom for what he was, I just don’t like that they kept peeling back the mask. Electro I just think is cool, and I’m including tasm 2. I think his theme is sick and think he has some of the coolest action scenes ever put to film for Spider-Man. I love how the Times Square scene is all about escalation; being in the wrong place at the wrong time, how circumstance affected the character and how Andrew’s Spider-Man tries calm the situation by remembering max as a person. For once Peter tried to do everything right and it still blew up in his face. Sometimes people just can’t be reasoned even when you try do everything right. That scene always facilitates, best scene in TASM 2 for me.
People shouldn't blame Marc Webb for the failure of TASM series
They should blame AVI ARAD for stuffing so many characters for the sake of toys sales
Same for Spiderman 3 since Sam Raimi didn’t want to include Venom because he didn’t really know the character at the time

Honestly not enough people talk about how much the MCU Spider-Man *nail* their villains. Vulture, Mysterio, and Green Goblin is such a good lineup as the main villain for the first Tom Holland trilogy and all of them are played and written extremely well

Love this. Mysterio was absolutely my second favorite villain ever behind the Scarecrow. Both using illusions, fear, and insecurities to mess with whoever fights them. Both showing they are extremely intelligent even against powerhouses like Spidey or Bats
Bro same, scarecrow and mysterio are my 2 favorite comic villains. The way they both use mind games and illusions to mentally fuck with and break their heroes is so unique to other villains
I agree with Mysterio. He’s a very underrated villain and I feel like everyone forgot about him but he was pretty cool and VERY evil. Like all of Spider-Mans villains are evil but at least they have hearts but Mysterio did not have a heart at all. He wanted to lie to the whole world, cause destruction for no reason, and kill children. Now that’s a bad guy!
I think he was forgotten because then No way home comes out and brings back legendary villains and a new look for Electro

People like to trash on some MCU design choices for their characters but man they nailed every single major Spider-Man villain down, from Vulture to Mysterio and even Shoker, also making William's goblin use the hood and the so needed redesign for Electro, I just love them all design-wise

In NWH when he describes the events leading to his death he has a throw away line about “absorbing data” which I assume is the quick explanation for why he knows the information that Peter is Spidey. Later in the movie is him seeing Peter’s unmasked face for the first time “you got a nice face you’re just a kid… I thought you were gonna be Black”

Their was at least reasoning behind Lizard wanting to turn everyone into Lizards in TASM. He basically wanted to evolve humans to be stronger and with him growing insane from turning into Lizard he took drastic measures.

7:01 The thing about The Rhino is that he has also been a little over-the-top (which isn't inherently bad) but in TASM 2 he is just cracked up to 11. All the cartoons have nothing on the level of cartoonishness that this Rhino is.
12:22 That is noteworthy since the Scorpion was always a buffed-up character since in pretty much every version it is clearly established that The Scorpion is more powerful than Spider-Man (because of course, Scorpions eat spiders).
13:14 Tombstone being Kingpin's right-hand man in Into The Spider-Verse reminds me of the very complicated rights issues that happened with the Kingpin behind the scenes (because while Kingpin is a Spider-Man villain he is also Daredevil's arch-nemesis so for a time it was unclear whether he was solely a Daredevil character or a Daredevil and Spider-Man character when rights were concerned) which lead to Tombstone in Spectacular Spider-Man (speaking of complicated rights issues) basically being the Kingpin because at that point the Kingpin (when rights were concerned) as purely a Daredevil character so they had to have a substitution. That of course isn't the case anymore since he was in Into the Spider-Verse but whenever someone talks about Tombstone being a henchman of the Kingpin (or when he is one) I can't help but get reminded of that. Now this isn't a bad thing but it is just something I wanted to bring up. Also bringing up Daredevil and Spider-Man reminds me of how I think Zeb Wells and Nick Lowe seem to be mixing up Spider-Man and Daredevil (and that is me being very generous, cough cough Paul). Basically, the big difference between these two characters is that Spider-Man can lose and sometimes does but his life is supposed to be realistic, not shitty (even though a realistic life has shitty moments) while Daredevil is Marvel's greatest loser (and I mean that in the best way possible) and those are the reasons why both are great characters but they are the same characters. Electro heard Gwen call Spidey "Peter" by mistake so he does no Spiderman's name is Peter which does kind of qualify him to get picked up by Dr Stranges spell.
Electro, not only connected himself to everything to possibly be able to learn who Peter is, but heard Gwen yelling Peter’s name. That would explain how he didn’t know that Peter was white until he took the mask off.

Electro probably is a different version but in No Way Home, but he actually doesnt know who Spiderman is. There's a scene at the end where Garfield takes off his mask and they make a joke that Electro thought he'd be black. Honestly i think it's just a plothole that "everyone who knows peter parker is spiderman is coming to the MCU" and this version of Electro actually didn't
How is Peter B not on the list? He was literally suicidal in ITSV, Miles inspired him to clean his life up and have a child, only to drink Miguel's Kool-Aid and not have Miles' back in ATSV?

Spider-Man 3 is my childhood film since I was little I always loved Sandman and this Venom, it surprised me growing up to see that in reality many people hate it.I always liked his design resembling Spider-Man's costume in Maleficent.s When I was little with my twin brother we called him ''The Evil Spider-Man'' I always liked this concept of a mirror Spider-Man, I think it's the role that best suits Venom rather than a giant black Alien who plays the clown

I fully disagree with this ranking because of how high Mysterio is and I really think Shriek shud be lower than Tombstone or others
Fun fact: Dr. Ratha from TASM1 was originally going to turn into the Proto Goblin before script changes cut most of his scenes from the movie in favor of more Lizard scenes.

Green Goblin not getting number 1 is absolutely criminal he is the best Spiderman Villain and No way home just proved his supremacy. Mysterio is definitely 2 or 3 material and I flat out hated Far from home as a Spiderman movie for a long time but Mysterio was easily the best part of this movie but he is not topping Willem Dafoe

Thank you for putting the _'not paying of the pizzas'_ lady here (😄)! I personally am a fan of the whole idea of Norman Osborn _physically_ transforming into the Green Goblin (becoming a genuine *monster* in the _literal_ sense of the word as Norman is a _'monster'_ as a _human being_ already). Hence why I *wish* we'd get _more_ of the "Into the Spider-Verse" Goblin, but until then, I'll take what I can get (👍).

I agree with most of this except Mysterio
To be fair, they could have Matt Gorgon become the MCU’s version of venom, since he was the host for the same be out for a good while in the comics and it would be an unexpected choice
As for Doc Ock making a different choice after NWH... if I'm not mistaken, they get pulled into the MCU at the moment of them discovering Spidey's secret identity no? And... doesn't Otto only find out moments before he has to sacrifice himself? So... unfortunately the NWH version of him is still doomed.
Norman on the other hand is put into a an immensely interesting spot. The version of Spider-Man 1 that the reformed Goblin of NWH gets sent back to gets radically changed. It doesn't have even remotely the same third act. It loses its villain immediately after the Thanksgiving scene and instead becomes a movie about Peter and Harry having to help a Norman who's woefully depressed and going on about multiverse stuff after turning himself in for his crimes as the Goblin prior to his Thanksgiving revelation. The finale of the 2002 movie becomes one about Peter and Harry strengthening their friendship over admitting Harry's father to a mental institution, which then drastically changes how Spider-Man 3 can turn out since Harry is no longer wanting revenge and just... it's just such a fascinating upset to the entire canon of Raimi's franchise.

For me personally SM3 Venom is the best because he is the only one out of all villains who made peter suffer and he acomplished the goal the others couldnt, i like his more realistic proportions than a bodybuilder and the ultimate elements on venom being more of a creature are nice to. I feel like too many dont open their eyes to this hidden gem and he deserves more love. As a Venom fan who read the comics and knows a lot of stuff about Venom to me Topher Grace is the best adaptation so far and Tom Hardy is too far from being good compared to Topher. I hope he returns since we are in the multiverse saga now and prob kick Tom Hardy's ass and take the name of Venom for himself.
Bro, I agree with everything you just said. Finally someone actually sees the good things about venom in Sm 3. And yes I do think venom in Sm 3 is the best one. They just made his venom so menacing and actually manages to make Peter suffer. The motivation is great, the design of venom is very unique and cool, and I just love this venom. This venom isn’t perfect by any means, but this venom is still very awesome.
we really need to see molten man, hydro man and cyclone as real spider-man villains for the movies and not allusions, and there's no point of seen sandman cause we do see him in spider-man 3 and spider-man: no way home
