It was all so well done and it helped that Willem Dafoe is just a phenomenal actor so he makes it all work and becomes one of the scariest and psychotic villains in the MCU.
i think thanos in infinity war is the best villain in the mcu. the thanos we get in end game that travels forward in time and tries to destroy everything is much less compelling to me. Love this comment tho and the green goblin take!
Hands down Zemo is my favorite villain. He beat the Avengers before Thanos and was the best part of Falcon and the Winter Soldier. It's a huge missed opportunity that he's not on the upcoming Thunderbolts roster.
I feel like there were more than 59, lol…nice to revisit everything. Loki, Killmonger, and Thanos are consistently the top 3 I think…and it’s interesting to note Loki is the one to always make both the hero and villain list for literally everyone. Oh…and I’m shocked you even counted Todd, lol!
Killmonger isn't a great villain to me. He's supposed to be this understandable villain and a more relatable character but goes onto to murdering an innocent old lady for no reason. It's really inconsistent and cartoonish imo.
@@plustico2846 “Old” lady…how old are YOU, like, 10?!? 😳 Because NO one Killmonger murdered could possibly be considered “OLD” by any stretch of the imagination? If you’re referring to the museum curator (who technically was killed by Claue)…I swear she was no older than 35…and if you’re referring to his girlfriend, well. She was even younger. I don’t recall any other female casualties? Am I missing someone??? 🤷♀️
My Top Ten Villians 1. Thanos 2. Loki 3. Green Goblin 4. Killmonger 5. Wanda/Scarlet Witch 6. Gorr The God Butcher 7. Hela 8. Ultron 9. The Red Skull 10. Baron Zemo
I'm gonna do a TOP 10 (I count Netflix series canon) (sadly I haven't watched Wakanda Forever)1 10: Vulture 9: Misteryo 8: Ultron 7: Bullseye 6: The WInter Soldier 5: Gorr 4: Thanos 3: Kingpin 2: Loki 1: The Green GOATBlin
Again, I totally agree with your thoughts on Loki. Personally, for me, I see his nefarious acts as a sort of reaction to everything that he's been through. He has done some wrong things, but there's a deep reason as to why he did them. He is truly one of my favourites alongside Thanos.
So, I’ve done my best to narrow it down. I think it’s my top 7. 1. Thanos 2. Wenwu 3. Vulture 4. Zemo 5. Namor 6. Arthur Harrow 7. Gorr These are my top favorite villains
2:53 I get why he was bumped down because he isn't even technically a villain - but his performance as a villain should count for something, the delivery of his evil monologues alone were chilling. And I just like the way he says "Amurrrica" lol.
Call me crazy if you want to but I will always have Green Goblin as the best Marvel villain. He was always a villain that couldn’t be held back. Almost every portrayal of Green Goblin not only gave everything to kill Spider-Man but he also never hesitated to kill the ones that Spider-Man loves. I know Sean didn’t include Willem Dafoe’s original green goblin but in that one movie, he tried to kill Aunt May and MJ.
Wenwu was just…wow. I remember seeing shang-chi for the first time and being floored at how amazing shang chi and his family were. The film highlighting how he holds both his mother and father within him was an amazing way of showcasing how wenwu was such a complicated character. He just wanted his family back and its heartbreaking. Easily my fav film of phase 4
My problem with Killmonger now that I've sat with the movie for over 4 years is that he's less of a character and more of an embodiment and mouthpiece for black rage. Every single one of his lines sounds like a diatribe against some social evil or historical injustice and we don't really get to see what his personality is like beyond that ... except for the one line which apparently was improvised by MBJ on the day ... "hey Aunty". That was hilarious and I feel like we should have gotten more of that. Don't get me wrong him being that works very well for the movie he's in especially one as thematically-rich as Black Panther is. "The child not embraced by the village will burn it down to feel its warmth" we get it, and it's done well but I wish we could've gotten like an extra scene of him and his girlfriend talking about their future together (before he kills her of course) or something really... it would have gone even further to humanize him. Think of all the scenes Thanos has when he's not murdering... he's teaching and philosophizing with Gamora or Dr. Strange. The best parts of Loki's villain performance in the Avengers is when someone points out Loki's insecurities to him... and notice Tom Hiddleston has a different reaction to that each time.
Agreed. I used to place Killmonger in like my number 4. That’s when I was 13. Now, I still think he’s a solid villain, but not as good as I thought. He’s like in my number 9 now maybe 10
I have never forgiven disney for how they treated shocker. Literally one of my favorite villians. I was waiting for him to appear since the og spiderman movie
To be fair to Shocker, the comics character didn't have much personality in the first place, so the decisions they made make a little sense, especially considering that the focus was clearly on Vulture. However, they wanted fan service so we got a ton of side villains like Shocker and Tinkerer as well.
I love how much effort he puts into all his videos! Thank you for putting Wanda on this list. No matter her motivations, she *is* in fact, a villain. But your pronunciation of Surtur is triggering me XD
You know it's kinda surprising that phase 4 has been the most divisive mcu phase, yet probably has the best villains overall. Wenwu, Namor, Green Goblin, Scarlet Witch. I mean, these were all great
Once I heard: "The same boiling water that makes an egg hard, also makes a potato soft." This quote proves why Wanda Stans' claims for their misconception that "WaNda DiD nOtHiNg WrOnG" are very illogical. That quote tells us that 'we shouldn't let situations/tragedies dictate us. It's the individual whose choices define him/her.'
Taskmaster with literally watching clips of Black widow, imagine if she was watching clips of The Avengers and they had an actual story where she would go out and fight The Avengers. That would be way cooler than what we got
Daemon Targaryen and Loki are very similar. Can't wait for Loki Season 2. Loki might already be my 2nd favorite character in MCU behind only Iron Man. Thor got worse after IW.

I think abomination would be top 10 imo. I'm not talking abt the bs character development he went through in she hulk. Whereas the 2008 incredible hulk, i gotta say after rewatching that movie, he's definitely an intimidating villain. Also the character development he goes through from a loyal soldier to an overconfident soldier finally becoming disloyal cuz of the craze of defeating the hulk. The super soldier serums he was injected through and through in the movie drove him mad imo which made him insane for hulk's power to defeat the hulk. Also, hulk was shown as an unstoppable force and a monster during this movie until the moment when hulk punches abomination, abomination says, "Is that all you've got". This was the exact moment where hulk wasn't the monster, abomination was. At that he was stronger than the hulk which was emil's primary goal and he succeeded but failed to defeat him which was his secondary goal. The leader in the comics might be a manipulative villain but in reality, abomination was the first real arch nemesis imo. I mean look at it, before thanos, hulkbuster and ragnarok, there was no one who could defeat hulk 1v1. Abom failed cuz of the distraction he himself took to kill Ross. Otherwise he dominated hulk throughout the fight.
Another amazing video sean. My top five. 1. The Scarlet Witch 2. Thanos 3. Loki 4. Killmonger 5. Gorr. Even though I hate the movie and they disrespected his character so much.
Thanos will always remain at 1 unless two things happen. 1. They have Kang leave a huge impact or 2. They do Dr. Doom justice. IF they fully utilize and explore Doom as a character, he’ll top Thanos with ease tbh
Thank you that was bugging the shit out of me lol 😂. That being said Sean is in my top 10 favorite TH-camrs which mind you is actually a list of 10 tied for first place
Hulks dad. Not for noble reasons, he is just an active guy who represents how cold rage looks without caring for even family. Shout out to the rockets villain. I'm so sad about Taskie one of my favorite villains when it comes to like Spiderman cartoons or comics he needs to be done right definitely a villain worthy of a great arc
Unpopular opinion: I did not like Loki as a villain. In the first Thor movie and the first Avengers movie, I found him to be whiny and self-pitying and entitled, even when the writers were aiming for Shakespearean tragedy. It wasn't until he became the mischievous anti-hero in The Dark World that I came to like him. That's when he started seeming like he was having fun instead of being so damn self serious. That's when he started being so unpredictable that I never could know for sure which side he would pick in any given situation. Loki is interesting because he's such a wild card, and that did not come across to me in his first two appearances, the ones where he was the most villainous.
Having Wanda in even top 20 is hysterically weird. Basically any villain after endgame besides no way home is a joke. Disney making us feel sorry for villains is gross.
Damn I just thought about how much better guardians 2 could have been had they made ego give his speech in the first act and have Peter turn against him in the second act but they tell Peter he has to join his dad because if he stops his dad he be killing himself too or something like that something that forced him to actually consider joint his dad. Basically join him or die and then have him wreak havoc on an innocent planet as part of the expansion forcing him to make the decision of stopping his dad even if he ends up dying if his dad dies and the third act is about stopping ego and then they stop him and he’s about to die but they find a way for him to live, idk how but that would make the movie better I think

@@plustico2846 wait who was the old lady again?
@@redmangoose182 Yeah…what “old” lady?????
@@plustico2846 “Old” lady…how old are YOU, like, 10?!? 😳 Because NO one Killmonger murdered could possibly be considered “OLD” by any stretch of the imagination? If you’re referring to the museum curator (who technically was killed by Claue)…I swear she was no older than 35…and if you’re referring to his girlfriend, well. She was even younger. I don’t recall any other female casualties? Am I missing someone??? 🤷♀️
He missed the Death Dealer
Phase 4 was a mixed bag but we did get some great villains. Wenwu, Green Goblin, Scarlet Witch and Namor were all great.

There’s a lot of MCU villains i like in my top 20
I'm gonna do a TOP 10 (I count Netflix series canon) (sadly I haven't watched Wakanda Forever)1
10: Vulture
9: Misteryo
8: Ultron
7: Bullseye
6: The WInter Soldier
5: Gorr
4: Thanos
3: Kingpin
2: Loki
1: The Green GOATBlin
Again, I totally agree with your thoughts on Loki. Personally, for me, I see his nefarious acts as a sort of reaction to everything that he's been through. He has done some wrong things, but there's a deep reason as to why he did them. He is truly one of my favourites alongside Thanos.
Thanks, Sean, for many years worth of content.

Sean dropping the biggest diss of the year
So, I’ve done my best to narrow it down. I think it’s my top 7.
1. Thanos
2. Wenwu
3. Vulture
4. Zemo
5. Namor
6. Arthur Harrow
7. Gorr
These are my top favorite villains
2:53 I get why he was bumped down because he isn't even technically a villain - but his performance as a villain should count for something, the delivery of his evil monologues alone were chilling. And I just like the way he says "Amurrrica" lol.
He has sooo much more presence than "I aM tHe MaNdArIn" whatever his name was
Great list! Where would you rank Laufey from Thor 1?
1. Thanos
2. Loki
3. Green Goblin
4. Killmonger
5. Hela
6. Red Skull
7. Iron Monger
8. Winter Solider
9. The Mandarin (Wen-woo)
10. Gorr
11. Ultron
12. Zemo
13. Vulture
14. Crossbones
15. Mysterio
16. Namor
17. Abomination
18. Alexander pierce
19. Klaw
20. Yellowjacket
Here’s my top 10 villains;
1.Thanos
2.Green Goblin
3.Killmonger
4.Ego
5.Ultron
6.Obadiah Stone
7.Namur
9.Mysterio
10.Gorr
The thanos copter was a real missed opportunity
Ultron over The Winter Soldier is absolute blasphemy
People seem to like jokes and punch lines more than Menacing and intimidating villains.
Ikrr
This is a decent list, I would only make a few adjustments. Personally, my favorite MCU villains are Scarlet Witch and Thanos.
Hyped to see this video, gonna see Wakanda Forever tonight and I'm psyched to see where Namor ends up on my list

Abomination
Zemo
Red Skull
Ultron
Loki

Zola
Wanda
Listening to Sean describe MCU villains makes me realize most of the MCU is a bunch of interesting ideas poorly executed lmao
Lol agreed
Also wasted A-List actors
To be fair to Shocker, the comics character didn't have much personality in the first place, so the decisions they made make a little sense, especially considering that the focus was clearly on Vulture. However, they wanted fan service so we got a ton of side villains like Shocker and Tinkerer as well.
I love how much effort he puts into all his videos! Thank you for putting Wanda on this list. No matter her motivations, she *is* in fact, a villain. But your pronunciation of Surtur is triggering me XD
Always really nice to see Wanda and Namor get the appreciation they deserve. People dont realise how good of villains they actually are

The best part of every MCU video
You know it's kinda surprising that phase 4 has been the most divisive mcu phase, yet probably has the best villains overall. Wenwu, Namor, Green Goblin, Scarlet Witch. I mean, these were all great
Man I wish they brought back red skull as pierce that would’ve been so amazing. They really needed to utilize skull a whole lot more than they did
Dude you forgot the kinda main villain in Thor Lauffey then it would be a top 60 video then not a 59th

Once I heard: "The same boiling water that makes an egg hard, also makes a potato soft."
This quote proves why Wanda Stans' claims for their misconception that "WaNda DiD nOtHiNg WrOnG" are very illogical. That quote tells us that 'we shouldn't let situations/tragedies dictate us. It's the individual whose choices define him/her.'
Besides the Green Goblin and Thanos, I like Arthur from Moon Knight, Killmonger and Namor, Vulture and Gorr

Awesome ranking bro

Loki is my favorite. But Thanos will always be number 1 because of the build up.
Thanos will always remain at 1 unless two things happen. 1. They have Kang leave a huge impact or 2. They do Dr. Doom justice. IF they fully utilize and explore Doom as a character, he’ll top Thanos with ease tbh

Holy crap Sean you’ve been putting out so much content lately. It’s been great but damn u must be tired.
The real mcu villain is Cowboy Sean
NEYMOR is crazy
hope the Shocker is brought back and they pull a good plot for Tom's Spider-Man to have as much beef with him as 90's Spider-Man had
