I forgot this mechanic existed. I remember reading about it in the game manual and using it like once or twice but i was so impatient at the time that I neglected to break line of sight before using it. Just assumed it was pointless and just resorted to outrunning the Krimzon Guards.
TH-cam randomly suggested this to me and even though I've played Jak 2 quite a few times, I didn't know that this was an actual mechanic. I just thought that it was a little animation they put in the game for fun, that's kinda neat.
As a kid i always did that on the ps2 version and i always laughed my ass off at how blind the guards were!! Not even Daredevil himself was that much of a blind

I bought every one of the trilogy games new, at release. 100% completed all 3 and have easily played through all of them 5+ times. I had no.fuggin.CLUE this mechanic even existed, let alone actually worked. I’d just hide under a bridge or absolutely shred through the city into another zone until they lost me
If only this mechanic was actually useful in some of the harder missions. This won't work on the vehicle missions or the water slum mission. I don't think I ever used this in a practical setting.
but you can be in the arena tucked all the way around the bend waiting to start a mission but NAH these mfs know you are around 4 walls for over 15 minutes but naughty dog put in a stealth mechanic god fking damn was this game rushed to compete with gta its sad playstation killed the franchise with that decision

it's cool, but not a very useful mechanic. even if you drive like ass you can usually just outrun the guards
