    I got mine up to 40.6 MPH with their angry snail LiPo. Solid little car.

  • @patmarcus172

    Really pleased you got one of these are they're creating big waves in the budget RC arena. Fast (40mph on 3S), extremely durable, metal drivetrain, proper, oil shocks, separate components, adjustable turnbuckles, optional GPS/telemetry features, optional upgraded radio, officially 2S and 3S compatible rather than "hope and pray", comes with unique hardcase Lipos but can run "normal" ones, reinforced honeycomb chassis, comes in three body styles of which you are reviewing the buggy but the Truggy and MT come with LEDs. The list goes on. You mentioned it might go well on a carpet track but we'd love to see you double backflip it at your usual outdoor bmx location.

    I have a couple of the version 1 trucks. Both were brushed, but are plenty fast to still have fun. I've since converted one to brushless and like your buggy, it's a handful :) I did go through and pack the differentials with thick grease but that only helped slightly. Thank you for the video!

    My biggest criticism of these trucks is always parts availability and customer service. That being said, pretty impressed! Short wheelbase so, a bit squirrelly on 3s. I imagine a reduction in toe and new servo arm should make a big difference (and some fluid in the diffs, if able). Thanks for the review 👍

    For anyone watching this that gets one, setting that front toe back to zero or slight toe in will really help with that torque steer and ability to keep it straight when applying the power. Switching to a dumboRC radio/receiver will really help too with better feel and control.

    Jumping back into the RC hobby after 35 years it's refreshing to see decent offerings from HBX and MJX. Not bad for the money but I consider them disposable. I do love my Losi and Arrma stuff more because the parts support/availability here in the US. The only Chinese RC company I take seriously is LC Racing and a few that are Taiwan-based ie. Team Magic.

  • @euqat
    @euqat ปีที่แล้ว +3

    I saw very positive reviews of it and decided to buy one. All reviews I saw were from people who received it for free so I was worried about the actual product not being as good, but it actually is exactly as shown in the reviews. I bashed it already and it held up like a champ.
    The radio & esc are the only things that feel cheap in the truck, I will swap them eventually. But the car overall is fantastic. I would easily have paid twice the price for such quality.
    Only questions remaining for me are 1/ how the drivetrain will hold up in the long run (diffs for example) and 2/ spare parts availability. We'll see!

    MJX is their own. Other companies just copy off of them or what you want to call rebranded. Other companies figured out that the chassis on these are very very durable and the car is very durable so they use the MJX platform and use their own body. There's three or four different companies that I know of so far that uses this MJX platform. If you ask me MJX is the best 16th scale and 14th scale RC cars you can buy in that price range. Very affordable and very durable and fast.😊 Not sure how else to explain how good they are. Just buy one for yourself and you'll see and you will not be disappointed. You'll be smiling ear to ear.😊

    Those are proprietary lipo batteries used in drones usually. I don't know why some companies are choosing to use these as you can't upgrade. I suspect it's to do with the low cost they can get them for. U can upgrade but you have to make your own battery strap or maybe some foam blocks to assist with the stock batt bar hold down keeping the batt tight in there

      The mt mjxrc would be a good competitor for the near indestructible hbx 16889a pro but as you say, the mjx models are slightly more premium. Another WL Toys or Rlaarlo kind of product. At least, they seem to have developped their own platform. However, LC Racing, Losi or Associated provide good mini buggy, which are well known for being good and easy to find parts. Yes, they are more expensive, but on those cheaper models, most of them have poor radio system, which will make an extra bill to pay to ahve something working correctly and offering a good experience. Better to buy an Asso Reflex 14 or LC Racing model.
