Today we are talking about Curling Rules.
The game curling has a lot of similarities with bowls and shuffleboard.
It involves sliding granite stones, also called rocks, into a target area at the other end of a long, thin, strip of ice which constitutes the “pitch”.
The team is required to propel the rocks closest to the center of the target scores points accordingly.
The path of the stone continuously influenced by team members who sweep and brush the ice ahead of the stone in order to alter its speed or curl.
In curling, an end is a set where both teams have thrown all eight stones.
After each end, whichever team is closest to the center of the house is awarded a point.
The points are also awarded for each stone of the team that is closer than the best of the opposition.
In order to score any points at least one stone must be “in the house”, which is to say touching any of the circles or overhanging them, due to the shape of the stones.

Curling has nothing to do with bowling sun nothing nothing But it does resemble a little bit like shuffle board
Agreed, ik it's a basic analogy but it really is a chess like game, the more you learn about it, the more you don't understand, but it works

Just started watching after someone blew my mind and not only lied and called this a sport, but lied harder and said this is an Olympic sport? Really?
The best way to describe this sport is this, and I don't even know the rules. Any sport you can explain all the rules in five minutes is not a sport. Only thing easier than this sport is checkers.
But to define this, and how I will forever define this sport as:
Curling is a obscure way of calling yourself an athlete when you are not an athlete.....like really! Like I cracked up in my diaper when I heard my friend say there is a fifth man in standby in case someone gets hurt! Hurt? Like the most strenuous thing is throwing and you literally throw standing perfectly still. Sweepers keep your day job. All that sweeping might matter when you add maybe a nanometer to your throw.
Now I was just talking to my friend on messenger cause I'm explaining to this very smart and successful person that is no sport and he's got these rebuttals that are making me laugh. I really needed a laugh too. Ok after I post this and see the rules I didn't hear yet, I'm gonna watch a game. But just seen a reference to some documentary on Netflix that these two dudes figured out this loophole by just blasting every shot right off the ice. The crown is screaming boring, but I think they are saying that cause they didn't find this very neat loophole that these two dudes did.
Like everyone knows a bookie, the legit like Vegas style and then there is the illegal, point spread type. They get the odds very carefully and mash in lots of variables and come up with this spread that makes the odds evened out. How you gonna even begin to think of way to bet on this? Like max you can have a match is 73? If anyone can honestly, I'm being serious, tell me or even a good guess why that number is exactly 73? Like why not 70, or 75? Or if you gonna make rules just to make the rule book two sentences longer than it normally would of been. Like this sport is for that guy, ya know, didn't get laid till way later in life, ya know maybe he hasn't come out of the closet and he doesn't know or realize that everyone knows he's a bit femme, and wants that hetero moniker, so it's a way to leave the house for 73 minutes, and come back and brag about he had this complex match. Thinks he's this super athlete cause he won this tournament and to make it look even more manly, they pay this huge amount to make this trophy bigger than the Stanley Cup to who wins. I bet this is right my next observation...bet this is like golf, make it expensive so the young smart ones can't play and dominate. Kind of like the cold version of golf.
Does any curler have even a clue this was invented centuries ago. It's called shuffle board. The local VFW let's you play for free.
Use marbles on a coffee table and save some money for the imminent sex change operation.
Once you get that operation done, it's gin rummy with a 4 second shot clock.
