500 Sub Special! Steam, Passenger, & More! Iowa Interstate Railroad in Iowa City, Fall 2022

First off, thank you for 500 subscribers!
In August, before I was to start my senior year at The University of Iowa, I moved into a new apartment located near the old Rock Island depot in Iowa City. While this didn't increase the number of trains I saw by that much, it made it a lot more convenient. This semester saw a lot of unique moves, including NS grain trains, SD38-2's, two UP donation moves to Silvis, two huge steam locomotives, the FRA and CN track inspection trains, a passenger special, and all the normal traffic from the Iowa Interstate.
I have a fair amount of new videos waiting to be posted, so keep on the lookout for more uploads in the near future, including my 2022 recap video. Thanks again!

Four road trains per day, plus the switcher from South Amana that comes out here a couple times per week.

There are typically four trains per day. If you want to know when westbounds come through, check the Steel Highway Railcam in West Liberty, IA. Trains that pass there come through Iowa City 30 minutes later.

The heck is a Canadian National inspection car doing on Iowa Interstate rails?

Twice a year a CN inspection train comes across the IAIS. Sometimes it's the RDC, in June it was a CN GP40 and an inspection car. It runs across the CN from Chicago to Council Bluffs and then goes on the IAIS from Council Bluffs to Peoria and returns to CN rails.
