Oh my. My head is buzzing with ideas now. This sketchbook is beautiful feast and I love how you test out things. The night scenes are really powerful and I think that might be where I’ll explore next. I’ve spent a lot of time on the Morten Hilmer livestream and did a drawing that I’m pleased with.
Aah I'm so glad to hear that! And thank you so much for your lovely words 🥰 I'm looking forward to doing more night scenes next month! Glad you enjoy the Morten Hilmer livestream too, I really love seeing how it changes through the seasons!
Katie thanks for sharing your sketches with us. I enjoyed seeing your style change from spread to spread. Like your honesty about spending time to draw, paint and sketch no matter how short.
Your sketchbook tour was very inspiring Katie, I enjoyed watching you share it with us and explain what was what. That baby armadillo was adorable, just had to say that. Every page was incredible and if someone would just reach out to you about illustrating a book or magazine, they would not regret it! Every time I see your work, I think about this! ❤❤❤
I really like your way of working because you know how to change your style and explore different techniques and always in a good mood! It’s so nice and inspiring 😁 Thanks Katie
Thanks for sharing. It's nice to hear you talk about getting a good feeling from work that you previously weren't too happy with. It shows having time away from some work can help to appreciate it. Great video 🙌🙂
It gets less scary after the first time, I promise! 😃 Sketchbook tours are some of my favourite videos to watch and they definitely inspire me to share my own 🥰
All your spreads are too gorgeous! ❤✨️ You are a great inspiration to me and always make me want to reach for my sketchbook all the time! ❤ Thank you for sharing it with us! 🥰
Your flip through inspired me to join your Patreon group! My favorite thing about your sketchbook is how you combine drawing and painting to make work that looks cohesive, but you never get bored by sticking with just one style.
Oh thank you so much, welcome to the community! 🥰 I love mixing things up, it really helps keep things interesting for me and inspires me to fill my pages 😄 💛
@@KatieMoody Yesterday, I watched the replay of the long drawing session. Such great conversation between everyone during the session made me feel right at home in the group.
I love the first spread in this sketchbook! Such lovely colours and the landscape is beautiful 😄🩷 Isn't it weird that we can hate a piece while working on it and find so much "wrong" with it. But when you look back at it a little while later, it's much easier to appreciate it and like your work. I feel like that all the time! 😅
Thank you so much! Yes for sure, I really wasn't a fan when I did it but now I love it! As you say, it's definitely easier to appreciate it with a bit of time and space, and I think it's because we 'forget' what our expectations were when we made it so can see it for what it is now! 🧡
I'm always so impressed how flat your pages are in this sketchbook! mine always seemed super warped 😮 I recently bought a white one too after seeing yours and I can't wait to give it a try! your sketchbook looks fab 🥰
I liked the bird theme, and I particularly enjoyed the later landscapes and some of the botanical sketches and sorta comic book style pages. On that note, it might be cool to have some narrative if you do block out the page in frames, bc that sequential organization on a double page spread is just naturally suggestive of storytelling. The one orangish red landscape that you self-admittedly disliked was actually one of your strongest pages. Clear evolution throughout, by the end things were looser and markedly stylistically stronger. I liked the impressionist feel of especially the stark monochromatic woodsy landscapes. Good stuff!
Thank you so much, Betty! It's so lovely to hear your thoughts! I've done narrative frames in previous sketchbooks, it's always such a fun way to include some story-telling in my work 😊 Thank you for watching and commenting!
Every time you post a sketchbook tour I wonder where the time has gone and think I need to draw more. Then I remember how fast you can create and I'm like 'nahhhh, I'll keep taking my time' 🤣. Though I did actually finish a 30 page sketchbook last week so I'm getting somewhere!
Always love your sketchbook tours, very inspiring and fresh! I do have a question though, do you use a fixative to keep the materials from transferring to the opposite page? I have a hard time getting neocolors to stay put 😅
Always a joy to watch you create! I’m trying to do something in my sketchbook every day, but don’t always accomplish it! I think my sketchbook is too large, and I’m trying to cut it down. Thanks Katie for sharing your thoughts and work with me! Karen Dirmish, Learner 0:080:08
Thank you so much, Karen! Some days are easier than others but just the fact you’re creating is wonderful! 🤗💛 I definitely find it easier and more manageable in smaller sketchbooks when doing a daily (or daily-ish!) challenge!
Thank you so much! I used to be worried about not having a really consistent style, but I love that it can evolve and change so I just embrace that now! 💛
@@KatieMoody Yes; we watch the Soo Locks live cam and the Duluth Canal cam to watch the Great Lakes ships, the weather, and the seasonal changes. I have drawn them some, but would like to more often. Those live cams are such great windows into the world.
I love love the fude pen flowers. I need a new fude pen: the one I hit years ago never worked properly no matter how many times I cleaned it or changed angle with it.

My pleasure, thank you so much for your lovely words! I really do think the act of creating, no matter how much or how little, is so important! 🥰
I love your style so much!! Also I really like the "questionable Mickey Mouse" one 🤣
Haha thank you so much!! 😄

Aah thank you, Kathy! The baby armadillo may just be one of my favourite things in the sketchbook 😆

Thank you so much friend! 🥰 Always appreciate your support 💕
I LOVE the armadillo with the collage shell! ❤
Thanks so much Rose! Collage is so fun to play with! 😄

Such a gorgeous sketchbook. It made me wonder if you've seen Country Life Vlog, which I quite like sketching from sometimes.
Thank you so much! Ooh no I haven't, I'll have to look them up! 😊 Thanks for the rec!
Lovely sketches
Thank you so much 😊

Hi Katie! Loved this video! Do you mind sharing the website you mention where the view is changed every minute?
I’d also like to know - sounds like a great idea for prompts!
Me too, please do share Katie! :)
@sarahindenton @HeyLauraVan @jacqueline2297 Of course! It's called oneminutepark.tv 😄

Thank you so much 🥹
Thanks for sharing! I am trying to figure out what my style is (if I have one) and see your variety of styles is inspiring.
Thank you so much! I used to be worried about not having a really consistent style, but I love that it can evolve and change so I just embrace that now! 💛
Thank you for that Morten Hilmer link. It's beautiful.
Isn't it! So calming, and I love seeing all the little visitors and watching the seasons change 🥹

Thank you! Oh really! What a shame, I guess if the angle is slightly off it can really affect the ink flow!
Would really like to see a night scene video please. 😊
Thanks Sarah! I'm doing a 'nocturnal' theme on my Patreon next month so I'm sure I'll have lots to share! 🥰
Looks great but you need to slow down. I want to see more 🎉
Thank you so much for watching! 😊
