This was so cool to watch, Katie! I really love your google maps sketches, and your landscape compositions in general. I find that I tend to paint and draw objects so much more than scenes, because they feel quite time consuming and intimidating, so I think I will try the google method as practice.
Thank you so much Mihaela! I find it so helpful for referencing and really would recommend using Google maps - they can be as simple or complicated as your choose! I wonder if you could slowly start adding in other elements in to your usual drawings of objects, and that way it's less daunting than doing a big scene all at once! 💖
Can u post the info regarding this particular sketchbook? Lovvvvvvve ur work and ur style! I have a ton of art supplies and I’ve been trying to use more of them together, u do it so nicely!
Thank you so much Rien! 🤗 I find the biggest difference is the texture and consistency! I find gouache easier to work on top of but tend to go for acrylic paint when I was really thick, layered brush strokes. I also find gouache easier to mix and get paler colours, as I have a wider range of shades than acrylic 😊
I have the Royal talons books small one hee hee they are lovely Happy crafting xxxx If you, take a Zebra to Tesco's and scan it, you get a Free Tub of Gravy hahahahaha Lovely Sketch book your so talented xxxxxx
@@KatieMoody thanks Katie! I’ve just checked and I have that one, but mine is really different! My set of Inktense pencils are about 15 years old though, so maybe they’ve changed the pigment? I’ll have to buy a new one to compare 😁
@@hollybennett4149 Oh that's so odd, Holly! I have quite a few blues so I double checked a swatch against the page but it's definitely Sea Blue! I do find it looks different on white paper compared to the Talens sketchbook but it only comes out a bit darker. I'd love to know what you discover if you do buy a new one and can compare!
Thank you for taking the time to film and share your videos with us. You continue to inspire us to create and I am forever grateful. 💕🙏🏼💕

Lovely sketches Katie. I do like the more subtle tones.
Thanks Gillian 😊 I feel like I'm definitely getting more confident with the softer tones and using more texture to create depth this year!
These are sooooo great!!
Thank you so much 🥰

There is a nontoxic casein-based fixatif called Spectrafix!
Ooh thank you so much - I'll definitely look into that! 💛
Just got the Creative Journal. Do u mainly use Neocolors in yours?
I use all types of media, mostly gouache and sometimes brush pens and pastels too - usually always finished with the neocolors and coloured pencils 😊
I love your sketchbook flip through, they are so inspiring! What shade is the blue you used for the statues in the Met sketch please?
Thank you so much, Holly! It's a Derwent Inktense pencil in the shade Sea Blue 1200 😊

do you use neocolor I or II?
Neocolor II 😊
Ur paper looks whiter that the others, is it?
The pages are off-white and quite cream coloured, I think it's just my video colour grading 😊
I love your art and style. So colorful and cute. Just by the way: th-cam.com/video/FC4KD161Xqc/w-d-xo.html this is how Gouache is pronounced!
Thanks so much 😊
