This happened on works van today, also with automatic gearbox. Left foot on brake, right foot on accelerator to the floor, turned key and it kicked in. It was a hot day, so maybe it overheated or something.
I'd say it was a crank sensor issue, the tach wasn't moving when cranking is usually a tell. I'd have to go verify with a sprinter to confirm however. Mercedes who knows if it will work or not lol

Hi I've just watched your video and I think it won't be to do with the fuel not the fuel in the tank but the fuel pump it may be that
the legendary German "quality".
