It got a lot easier with the "PITTSBURGH PRO 1/4 in, 3/8 in. Drive Long-Reach Dual Flex Head Ratchet." I wish I'd had that the first time I changed the starter. The thin head really helps clear the motor mount. I think my combo for the top bolt was a standard shallow 3/8 drive 13mm socket, 3/8 u-joint, 3" extension, 3" extension, and the thin dual head ratchet. Once I broke it free I was able to sneak the M12 ratchet up there to spin it out. Maybe that'll help someone else in the future. Search google for the harbor freight $5 off pro ratchet coupon before heading to pick up the ratchet if there's not a better one available.
You definitely nailed it there , I need to buy another flex head ratchet , I lost mine and that might have made the job a lot easier with it. Plus I feel like I’m the only one on TH-cam using 25 years old wrenches 😂 😂 I need to upgrade. Definitely your comment is going to help a lot of people and I will try to add it to the description and put a special thanks to you .I will wait until go on my laptop it will be possible to copy the text
Fumbled around with the top bolt for 2-3 hours, just ran to Harbor Freight to pick up that ratchet you mentioned, 10 minutes later, its out. Thank you so much @wylee
@@RIPTHEFLIPPA glad it helped. I couldn't believe how much easier that ratchet made it. I don't want to talk about how long it took me the first time I took that bolt out with a regular "chunky" ratchet. 🤣
@@WheelersHoarder the 2nd time was a parts cannon misfire so this should only be the second time. Now my Napa (not a sponsor 😂) won't stop cranking. OEM from Rock Auto would be my preference but sometimes ya need it NOW and retail prices are nuts.
@@AlanBurnham 😂 that is a pain in the ass , I used to go the nearest parts store but definitely rockauto have more choices. for now anytime I replace starter or alternator I go straight to the dealership and pay extra.
The music is so unnecessary.
Thank you for the feedback bro , I will definitely stop adding music . I have realized it is soooo unnecessary
And then it was loud. Waking up my whole house this morning at 330 lol

Dumb video
Respect that some people don’t really know nothing or just started
That top bolt is a MFer. I'm about to do mine for the 3rd time 🤣😂
🤣😂 yes for sure it is a MFer , might stick with OEM starters they last longer .
