  • OUR $5 HOG PEN OUT OF WOOD PALLETS || All About Living
Welcome to My Channel "All About Living".
This Hog Pen cost us $5 dollars worth of screws to build. The gate was collected as a gift over a year ago. The wood pallets were free, and I used a pound of 3" screws. How about that.
Tammy decided that we are going to raise pigs. It's a little to soon for our progress, however, they are going to be given to us, so that helps alot.
How we live everyday life. How to Garden, How to grow Plants, How to fertilize our all organic garden. We live a minimal life. We started raising chickens, raising rabbits, growing a garden, fishing, crabbing, and finding oppotunities to make a few dollars here and there to provide us with the tools needed to get to the next level.
Our homestead is very practical. Homesteading to become self sufficient. Homesteading to provide us with food and supplement our ability to survive.
We left the high ground and went to the low ground. We left paved roads to live on a dirt road in the woods. We both grew up in a country lifestyle and we grew to work our way up in a society we wanted no part of. Nice home, boats, trucks, vacations. The stress of surviving the ups and downs of the economy got to be alittle to much.
Our solution........ Walk away......... We learned together that money wasn't everything. What mattered was our sanity.
After decades of living a stressed out life, we decided that the last thing we wanted to do was continue working for banks, and credit cards. We moved back to the woods where we are both comfortable. Married now for 35 years we both communicating with each other. Are there times we wished life was a little easier?? Yes, but the rewards are not worth it. Chasing the almighty dollar is not an option. Living Life and Loving each other is the only way to go for us.
Our only goal right now is to help others believe in themselves and that life can be just as rewarding without all the bells and whistles. It's what we call freedom. No bills, no bells going off, no alarms, no buzzers, just opening our eyes and saying it's time to get up.
10 years now living in a RV in the middle of the woods. There's uncertainty everyday, but we usually make it to the next day.

So with t-posts and a strand of electric, would this work? I have 2 pigs on the way and little budget for a pen.

    Did it work?

They never brought us the hogs. We certainly cannot afford to buy them. So all that work for nothing.

I'm sure it would have needed T-posts to help support. Also, I'm told tht running an electric wire along the inside bottom would be necessary. Or some way of keeping them from digging out.

Run hot wire along the bottom. That way the will Not dig out or push on wall.
