I couldn't tell any difference in the voice. I have this Amp myself and using it with the Sennheiser Game One really made a huge improvement on the volume. If you own the Sennheiser Game One for ps4 you know the volume sucks straight out of the box but this Amp fixed that for me. Plus the mic on Sennheiser is great IMO the best I've tried for console. Note that I havn't recorded any games with that mic so if you think of looking up at some rare gameplay I happened to record voice it's probably crappy sound from HyperX mic or crappy sound from AstroA50 gen3. (Sidenote: My ps4pro is so damn loud witch decrease the quality of the chat because it does pick up static noice but the Sennheiser Game One has a good noise cancellation - I tested recording with it on my loud ps4 and it works like a charm)

@@ignacio3714 they’re both shaped differently,I believe the alpha has a bigger opening for the mic than the cloud 2 so the mic might go in but because of the angle of the connecting housing idk how far it’ll go in.you can do a little switcheroo and buy a alpha and switch the mics then return it lol.

A little late but it can help others :) You are right; impedance of the headset is 65 ohms while the game pad is 30ish. Headsets must be connected through USB to be at their full potential. Any USB Amp will do it with any headset.
Could you please test the volume and mic controls with non-HyperX earphones? Any regular earphones with a mic, and see if the volume and mic buttons actually work with them, thanks in advance!!
I just got a hyperx cloud core that came with the sound card and no switch/button built in to the actual headset. I can’t for the life of me figure out how to make the audio come through the headset and not the tv. NOBODY on the internet can give me an answer… L

I have another video called HyperX Cloud Alpha Low Sound Fix...See if that works for you. Also make sure all the plugs on the headset is tightly plugged in and using the correct wire.

Check out my video on adjusting sound for the hyperx headset. You set it in your PS4 settings under devices, audio. If u have a PS4 pro like I do, there shouldn’t be any problems. I have no low sound issues. It’s super loud for me 😬👊
Me too but i'm using Arctis 3 and the volume was way too low even I already maxed out the volume for both console and the headphones. Hopefully this Amp will do justice since my order is on its way.

check out my other hyperx video on adjusting the volume in the ps4 settings. Mine is super loud by doing those adjustments. Some other tips are to make sure the headphone plug is pushed all the way in. Some people aren't doing that. And that the headphone plug is in the correct position, gray plug goes into the headphones...Hope that helps! 😬👊
The hyperx alpha s comes with the usb dongle one thing that the alpha has that the s doesnt have is that you can mute yourself and turn the volume up but the alpha s has the bass slider
It has mic volume controls on it. I feel like it does enhance it the more I replay my games and listen to my voice chat. It’s not a big difference at first and I’m starting to hear the quality and it’s better.

I have the same setup. Cloud alpha, cloud amp and ps4. Also try updating the amps firmware on pc. It could help too.

From my experience, the Amp only really increased the volume. If anything, the microphone is clearer sounding plugged directly into a controller

how do you see that the mic volume changes? I feel no change at all when I use it.
I think it’s a tiny change and blocks out some noise making it a bit more clear. It won’t be as clear and crisp as a PC tho.

There’s Cloud Alpha S which is the latest version and it comes with the USB Amp but unfortunately that one is not compatible with PS4.
