I hope I'll get better one day. Im a musician and I quit singing because of my vocal cords. Every now and then, when I sing, my kids dance. I wish it wasn't so expensive to focus on my health.

I was so depressed when I started my treatment for acid reflux cause my dr was don't eat fatty food, eat less soup, don't eat spicy food, and I was like there is nothing to eat and I got super sad, but then I found your videos and found out I have so little information about food and there is actually so much to eat! Thank you for giving me hope and strength to continue my treatment and get better hopefully my acid reflux will be totally cured like yours 😊

Why don’t you use Betain HCL, it made my acid reflux much better. Other “Doctors” on TH-cam says it’s it is actually less acid in your stomach.
    Yes stress causes it though.

Great advice! I really believe that stress and anxiety are the root cause of my GERD problems. Yet I still don't understand some things. First of all, one can't eliminate stress completely. Once we are so sensitive to it how do we break the cycle? My stress, anxiety or mood changes often don't have a specific stressor. I'm quite behind in life, I've acquired dysfunctional habits, I tend to procrastinate a lot, I have a rough past, so nervous tension builds up in my body, I think. I meditate every day (a little less than I used to, it's true) but I'm still in a flare-up cycle despite 40mg of Esomeprazole. Also, I'm doing a PhD in something I love but feel like an impostor due to mental health. The problem is not the studying per se, is dealing with procrastination, with the anxiety about not being productive due to symptoms, dealing the the awareness that I'm not doing enough and that I'm very behind. So in order to heal my nervous system I have to improve in life and do things that scare me, etc., but in order to do them I need to be stressed and hence perhaps bear the GERD symptoms. I feel isolation and loneliness is a big factor; it's something I have to address too.
Also, how long should we be consistent? Because this is an incurable chronic disease - I have an incompetent LES. I know that when one reaches remissions one can eat or drink more aggressive foods in moderation, or take a PPI on demand (i.e., before indulging in some excesses). But how long it takes?
Another big problem I have is with portions. I eat a healthy diet but I'm very skinny, almost underweight. If I don't run, I get more anxious and accumulate more nervous tention. So I can't afford low portions, nor eat 6 meals a day, and that really bothers me...

Work with a therapist on this stuff, they can help you to organize, set goals, manage your stress (if you're not meditating enough that's on you and you can change that). Please don't expect Molly to solve your problems for you. She's a registered dietician, not a therapist.

I've tried to come off Lansoprazole, but I can't!! It's all very well trying certain foods and supplements, but you have to go through a lot of pain and acid drawbacks first! I'm not prepared to do that! Life is for living! I don't want to risk aspirational pneumonia from drawbacks either. I live in the UK.
