Hey! I'm Aunt Judy, I'm so blessed to have you following my journey here at Snead’s Farmhouse Sanctuary in Cullman, Alabama. Our farm is a place where you can connect with nature and feel safe because we educate against discrimination. We welcome everyone! We have many different animals here who all live amongst each other without being seperated by fences. NO fences JUST friends here at Snead's Farmhouse Sanctuary!!
What sets us apart is how we're all about including everyone and giving back to our community. We've teamed up with the Remi Foundation to make sure kids with autism can have a blast on the farm for free. And on top of that, we offer free field trips to groups like group homes and sober living facilities, and Domestic Violence shelters. It's all about spreading the joy and sharing the love!

Judy, you have many resources through hospice. Ask for a hospital bed. It will make your life so much easier. (And easier for your dad). If Larry is a veteran, you have more resources. Sending you lots of love and strength. Don’t be afraid to ask for help! You are only one person. ❤

Hi Judy, I’m so thankful to see Gods hand in everything that’s happening in your life, and Larry and Shane’s life. He is faithful and good to His flock.
Watching all the babies come out for the day is always a joy to my heart. I love them all!
I’m so thankful that Larry’s doctor switched him to hospice. It’s so much better for all of you. I loved seeing him sit in his chair, and the beautiful picture of your mom and Larry! Precious!

Good morning Judy. At night when you’re not using the feeder, try putting a rock or a small piece of wood under the part that they step on. That will prevent it from opening.

While I took care of my Dad during hospice while he was resting I plated Christian music on low and it helped calm and soath him cause when he woke he still listened to it which he never had before and he said he really liked it. Just a thought Judy. My thoughts and prayers sending love and hugs to you, Shane & Larry. Your Mom is beautiful.

I took care of my aunt she was placed on hospice. They will provide you with everything you need just tell them. It’s available and they come back when it’s time and remove everything. They will help you with everything.
hospice is great my mom was on it when she had cancer

I just finished watching your video. It was nice to see all the babies. I am sorry that your weather has been so awful. Wind and rain can do a lot of damage to your property. I hope that you got an answer about your chicken feeder and how to lock it at night. I always have a battle with my fitted sheets. I start out in the top right corner and then discover I have the long side up top and have to take it off and start again. Folding fitted sheets is a nightmare for me. I have watched how to videos and still can’t conquer folding the fitted bottom sheet!😳 What a lovely picture of Mr. Larry and your Mom. Such a nice looking couple. Thank you for keeping us informed on how Larry is doing. We all send our love and prayers to you all.💜🙏🏻
Judy, I can empathize. My mom has dementia and she now lives with me. The doctor has put her on hospice because it got to the point I couldn’t give her a shower anymore myself. And you’re right insurance won’t help you with any of that stuff. That’s why I had turned to the doctor for his help. When he mentioned hospice, I was like OMG I don’t think she’s getting ready to die…Do you? He saw the tears coming into my eyes and he said it doesn’t mean that she’s gonna go anytime soon. I had one patient that was on hospice for six years. It just means I can no longer do anything to help her. So now hospice writes her medication and they come and give her a bath once a week they got the bath chair the wheelchair the whole kitten caboodle and I don’t have to struggle to get supplies.

Hello Judy. On the grandpa feeder, maybe you could place a stone/ brick underneath where you step on it, so it can’t be stepped on to open. Just an idea. 😊

Can you take 2 or 3 bungee cords to try to lock it down? Put one end of each under the bottom of the step then see if there is a spot on the back of the lid to hook the other end.

Regarding the feeder, is it possible that the small piece of wood that is in the in between the metal and the feeder part ( on the left hand side ) preventing the locking mechanism? Just a suggestion. I noticed it in the video at the 5:51 mark. Thinking about you all. Blessings!

I bet it’s rats. If a chicken can open it, a big rat or a couple of rats could get that open and then crawl inside. I bet they crawled in, ate their fill, and splattered it all around for all their buddies.
A snake could also do it. Just as soon as that lid opens a crack they slide right up and slither across the top splashing seeds all over. If the rats got in and the snake was around he could slide up and get his own breakfast while they were busy.
Yeah, you need to figure out the lock for night.

Could you slide a brick underneath the step plate of the feeder at night so even if a preditor got in to raid the feed. The step wont depress to realease food if trodden on?
