It is beautiful. One video, "corn day" she hoped he was making her some coffee and the gratitude came through the video when he handed her that much wanted coffee, then a nice visit to boot. beautiful. I get up and make my hubby coffee everyday, it's actually funny when I miss because I was in a deep sleep when the dogs said.. breakfast, then something off routine happens. 😂😂😂 weird schedule here, they seem to want to stay on deer season time, so I often fall back in bed until I have to get up for work. 😂

Not only do your children have wonderful knowledge and life skills, but I just learned how much work goes into building a large building like a pole barn and all the skills needed to pour the concrete floor. I loved seeing your husband in the video, too. You two are such a loving and sweet couple. Sometime in the future, it would be a great video to talk about what makes a good marriage and how you create the long-lasting bond you two have. Thank you for this great video. I was also amazed how you do not have to beg your children to do their chores as they just do what they are asked. In today's families, that looks amazing.
I learn so much from you every time I watch you. God is such a good father and he’s so patient. I don’t think we realize how important it is to practice obedience. We get lost raising children and wanting to make sure they obey but often fail to remember that we’re Gods children and if we’d simply obey, we’d see what He has for us. I believe we get in our own way far too often. So thank you for the reminder this morning ❤

That new building will be a great place for the kids to play when the weather is not so good. I was raised in the country and we did everything in the big garage all winter long. We rode bikes, roller skating, jumped rope. I think it’s going to be very useful for your family. I love that your children know how to do everyday tasks. Today common sense and being able to take care of yourself is a great skill.
How exciting for you, Elvin, and your family. So happy that you all are getting a place that Elvin can work and you can have for your milking buckets, jars and whatever. God is so so good! Love seeing the boys helping their Dad working. It's so important that boys learn how to work with tools and machinery. We raised our two boys here on the farm and they both can work on mowers, cars, whatever and they are now teaching their boys. Great experience for them and even the girls! Anything that makes farming/homesteading easier and the chores easier is such a blessing.

You don't need to worry, any space you have, be it rooms, cupboards or the like, will soon fill up. It is wonderful for a dad to pass on skills. The children are then able to pass on these skills to their children (an old-fashioned but very pertinent aspect of life) I really do admire your family's self-sufficiency in so many areas of life.
Such a blessing. It will be so nice for Alvin to have a larger shop, not only for tool storage, but the space to teach & show the boys. I agree a milk station will be welcome for making the process easier, more sanitary, & a good use for part of the new building. Congratulations on your new building- love the way everyone works together to make it all come together. I get the sense that Elvin will be earning from home soon and pray God will bless his efforts professionally and in mentoring and guiding the boys. I love the way the Lord orchestrates the changes in our lives in different seasons. For the first 16 years I was full time nurturer and backup part time earner. I loved being home with our little ones and home schooling, raising garden, chickens and goats with our children. Then my husband went back to school while still working part time while the kids finished high school, I went to work, and he when he finished school we both worked full time while the kids were in college. Now by the orchestration of the Lord we've been able to bring my parents from the DC area to our farm in southside Virginia and he is working at home on the farm and assisting with them while I continue to do public work. The life symmetry of this is a beautiful thing and we feel so blessed to all be here together. God is so good! Juliane T.

My mecanic uses the oil that he gets when changing it to warm his garage during the winter. Maybe you could use the old oil and warm the garage with this. So nice to see how the children are involved in all the family projects

(to teach me more about how much God loves and cares for His children) Sometimes, I do not know how to tell the difference between what I need and what I want. It is exciting to see what the Lord will do in all of your lives because of this new addition. OH! The possibilities! And, what a testimony of how God works in lives to bless His children.

Elvin and Ruth Ann, i wanted to say I enjoyed this video so much seeing the two of you together was great. The way you look at Elvin shows just how much you love and respect him thats so refreshing to see anywhere but especially on here. They would have been so many other people that wouldn't have done a building that big they would have sold half of the trusses to make money to hear Elvin say it just didn't feel right to do that because God seen it for you to get that many and you decided to build it the size you had of trusses because God wanted it that size. That was such a testament of your faith and love for God thats why you have been so blessed with what you have. Ruthann I'm so glad you will have a place for your milk and milk buckets plus closer to the barn that will be so good especially in the winter . God will reveal in time exactly what will be done with the building. It would be so wonderful if Elvin could start a business and be able to work there at home but i know God will decide that whatever it is to become it will be wonderful for the family. Hi RuthAnn, Elvin and sweet family! I’m so glad to see Elvin and you together explaining about the new building. God does provide for our needs. We tore down a lumber company years ago when my husband and I wanted to build a home. We lived in a mobile home and about froze to death and my husband said next winter we would be warm through winter. We had enough trusses for our home, barn and a huge building we used for a garage, a bulldozer and our farm implements. Plus a neighbor built a big garage and a brother built a big garage. I was the primary nurturer too and my husband was the primary provider. The boys are such hard workers and the skills they are learning will be invaluable in their future. I really appreciate you both sharing your plans with us. I hope everyone has a very blessed weekend!

RE:Peach Trees! Have you ever considered having a walled garden and espalier fruit trees or - fancy word: orangerie! - and trees in huge pots! You could winter them in a glassed lean-to or glass-house on your new barn with a fork-lift!
Congrats on the big shop! With the milk processing and family graduation/reunion/wedding plans, y'all could put in a fridge room! High powered window A/C unit, Cool Bot and good insulation/exterior door, some shelving- walk-in fridge!

That building is going to be wonderful! You'll have so many options. Having a sink and a place to wash your milking equipment will be perfect for you. My husband and I are really glad to see that Elvin has a full time job. It amazes us to see so many men staying home to work on the homestead with no clear way to make money. I know that I am old and traditional;, but someone needs to have a steady income. You can never have a big enough pole barn😉 My husband a couple years ago insulated part of our pole barn and its been a blessing in the winter.

The day I found "Your Father in heaven knows what ye have need of" in Matthew ... my life was changed. (to teach me more about how much God loves and cares for His children) Sometimes, I do not know how to tell the difference between what I need and what I want. It is exciting to see what the Lord will do in all of your lives because of this new addition. OH! The possibilities! And, what a testimony of how God works in lives to bless His children.

A summer kitchen/canning kitchen could help you to keep your home cooler. Maybe one part could be set up that way. Sounds like you and your hubby are very excited to see what comes of this!! Fun to hear about it.

Elvin and Ruth Ann, i wanted to say I enjoyed this video so much seeing the two of you together was great. The way you look at Elvin shows just how much you love and respect him thats so refreshing to see anywhere but especially on here. They would have been so many other people that wouldn't have done a building that big they would have sold half of the trusses to make money to hear Elvin say it just didn't feel right to do that because God seen it for you to get that many and you decided to build it the size you had of trusses because God wanted it that size. That was such a testament of your faith and love for God thats why you have been so blessed with what you have.
Ruthann I'm so glad you will have a place for your milk and milk buckets plus closer to the barn that will be so good especially in the winter . God will reveal in time exactly what will be done with the building. It would be so wonderful if Elvin could start a business and be able to work there at home but i know God will decide that whatever it is to become it will be wonderful for the family.

Hi RuthAnn, Elvin and sweet family! I’m so glad to see Elvin and you together explaining about the new building. God does provide for our needs. We tore down a lumber company years ago when my husband and I wanted to build a home. We lived in a mobile home and about froze to death and my husband said next winter we would be warm through winter. We had enough trusses for our home, barn and a huge building we used for a garage, a bulldozer and our farm implements. Plus a neighbor built a big garage and a brother built a big garage.
I was the primary nurturer too and my husband was the primary provider.
The boys are such hard workers and the skills they are learning will be invaluable in their future.
I really appreciate you both sharing your plans with us.

RE:Peach Trees! Have you ever considered having a walled garden and espalier fruit trees or - fancy word: orangerie! - and trees in huge pots! You could winter them in a glassed lean-to or glass-house on your new barn with a fork-lift!
You will be amazed how fast that shop will fill up. Every farm needs a shop!
it can keep your whole family safe. ALL, EVEN MARRIED....if you had to.
Congrats on the big shop! With the milk processing and family graduation/reunion/wedding plans, y'all could put in a fridge room! High powered window A/C unit, Cool Bot and good insulation/exterior door, some shelving- walk-in fridge!

That building is going to be wonderful! You'll have so many options. Having a sink and a place to wash your milking equipment will be perfect for you. My husband and I are really glad to see that Elvin has a full time job. It amazes us to see so many men staying home to work on the homestead with no clear way to make money. I know that I am old and traditional;, but someone needs to have a steady income.
