I just got a small rubber plant ruby. I killed one before so I’m very cautious to keep this one healthy and happy. I’m so happy to see a new leave shooting out! Thanks for your tips.
I have a new rubber plant that I got in April and I’ve been so scared to overwater it I’m now worried I haven’t watered it enough. I’m going to try this shower method for the first time today! Wish me luck!!!
Great advice, thanks! Recently purchased a rubber tree plant. It is about 4 inches in height, planted by the nursery in a large glazed pot. I would like to water from the bottom up. The glazed pot has a draining plate, very shallow. Should I remove the planter from the shallow plate below the pot and water it in a larger bucket to ensure it gets enough water?
Hi Skye, Yes I think that's a good idea! Simply because sometimes if the bottom of the glazed pot has 1 hole, it becomes very difficult for the plant to drink enough water via bottom watering. Sending your rubber tree plant happy growing vibes !!
I have a ficus tineke and it has browning edges and some leaves have dropped. I don't suppose you have any tips on how to diagnose that? When people say stick the finger in the top 2-3 inches, doesn't that depend on the size of the pot? A small plant with 5 inch depth should not be using the same generic test as a mature plant in a pot with 15 inch depth for example.
Hi iRoxy, if your rubber tree lives outside in the summer in a pot, I'd say it'll be pretty happy getting watered more frequently! I put mine out in the summer, under direct rays of sunlight, and the leaves got scorched >< But then after about 6 months the plant became more tolerant of the sun :)) Sending your Rubber Plant happy growing vibes
I have a green plant, trying to figure out why some of the leaves have a rusty colour look in the centre of the leaves ( also rough texture ), one leaf even turned orange before I removed it. Any ideas?
Hi Sharon, Yes I also find mine to be quite a slow grower! But that's what also makes it such a hardy and structurally beautiful plant! Hope you're well in Melbz
Hi Magdalena, if you've achieved appropriate watering for your Burgundy Rubber Plant and the lighting is fine, maybe check if it needs to be repot? Sending you happy rubber plant vibes !
Hi plant and poetry my ficus tineke has drooping leaves but I don’t know why it’s dropping. It look healthy, it’s not root bound, I always water when the top inch is dry like you mentioned, it gets morning sun then I move it to a place where is bright. Do you know what might be wrong. I have a feeling that the leaf is heavy that’s why it’s dropping because the trunk is like a stick.
@@plantspoetry Hi Yes. My Dark Leafed Variety has browning, leaf curling and drooping. And also, the day I water it within next day or two the bottom leaf sheds. What to be done?
Hi Eleni, Yes I find a few minutes worth of early morning sun is fine, but I did forget my rubber plant one time in the Midday Summer Sun and it completely got sunburnt... oops!
Hi Allison, As long as your rubber plant is receiving bright indirect light from a window somewhere closeby, i'm sure it'll be happy :) I find that my rubber plants are superrrrr slow growing too!! at times.. there's no new growth for months!
Hi Florence, I happen to live in a very warm tropical environment, where the humidity is around 50-60%. Most Rubber Plants will do well with higher temperatures/humidity, but they're also pretty tough plants to kill haha! Hope yours grows to be beautiful and lush!
Hi Lalee, mine too!! I found that I had to check that there was enough lighting, thorough watering infrequently, checking for any opportunistic plant pests, or potential root problems. I know it's vague but sometimes it helps just to check through those things! Hope your rubber plant recovers
I think we have the same issue in tineke. Thay happens to me also the browning of edges. Do you know what it is? I change the soil but it continues to spread in edges. Can you give me some tips
Hi Dale Allen, Yes! Mine kept getting brown too. It was due to me putting it right by my window and even though it was morning sun, it was still too strong for the white sections of my plants. So I eventually changed the plant position to a better location with only bright indirect light. Eventually those brown leaves just dropped off, but the new ones haven't got any browning anymore. If you've changed soil, and are watering consistently, my next advice would be to check the lighting. Hope this helps~
So pleased I found this video - it’s the most helpful one I’ve seen so far. My plant said to say thanks 😊

In the video I noticed some of the leaves are curling. Isn’t that bad?
delightful content✨

Is it the same rule for rubber trees kept outside in the summer? Water until dry? Or keep it moist? Also, are they ok in direct sun?

Hello so its ok if we water and leave it a bit outside to dry?

@@plantspoetry ☺😇thank you so much!!
I think I’m under-watering. I’ve been letting it get fully dry and then bottom watering. It’s losing leaves
Any advice please my potted rubber plant is slow growing its on my table in front of my living room window which as a net

What kind of humidity will they tolerate, I have mine in a humid area?
