Terrible movie analysis. I haven't watched it in about 2 years. Y'all don't remember the boss of the island demanding him not to have the concert? Even went as far to summon our kidnap Rihanna to send the message that he shouldn't have the concert. With her knowing how important Sunday was to the island boss Rihanna knew he'd have Gambino killed for throwing a party on Saturday. I hate and feel bad when people either don't remember important movie scenes or misinterpret them as such. Long story short this was not a display of "Women's intuition"

Rihanna (Kofi) notices because shes not only just watching for the concert, but for the warning that was brought to her by Big Red (the dude controling the paradise they love so much). When she notices the clown, she tries to run and tell Demi that someone trying to shoot, and somehow, there was this silence. Then, the clown masked man shot him on stage. The music stops, and Demi (Childish Gambino) runs to a dark desolate area, hopefully hiding out of plane site from the killer (who was mostly one of the henchmen). However, a blue bird (the blue bird couldve been a symbol for him/the town. Since the bird was shown in a cage under Big Red's eyes, but because he didn't listen to him, the bird (or in this case Demi and the town) are now free)caught his eye, and sadly made his area known for the killer. The killer, without any hesitation, shoots him. Demi wobbles back, with little light exposed to him as we see him one more time, trying to reach for something before the killer shoots one last time.
I just finished watching Guava Island (beautiful short film, recommend it) and I think I get why Saturday hasn't had a studio release yet... this song was made for this film and it feels out of place without the blood and soul of a festival, of a crowd of people all connecting together with the same vibe. With a studio release, it becomes private in a sense, just locked away to whoever is listening to the song at the time on their own personal device. This song is built to be experienced with the people around you...
