    Brian is THE MAN. He's a great instructor. The balloons and primitives tip was mind blowing for me. I could listen to him all day. Thank you David and Eric for putting this together. This was a blast to watch and listen to. All of the art produced was fantastic as always.

    Brian is not only ridiculously talented but very articulate. He does a great job breaking down his process in a way that anyone could understand.n Dave… ur always so humble n quiet but ur a beast. I hope u kno that we all love ur work n the fact that u made ur piece look that good n it was ur first time trying this technique is absolutely mind blowing. Another awesome video as always, thanks u guys.

    Thank YOU, Mr. Finch for putting this whole thing together. So much to learn from just 2 hrs of a stream. Wow. What a humble yet such a beast of an artist you are

    I studied art 10 years ago. I dropped out after the first year.... I still create art on the side .... but at UNIVERSITY.... believe it or not, not one of our painting teachers painted in a realistic fashion , as a result not one could help me technique wise when it came to learning to paint to create the art I wanted to. I realise most would consider this "Illustration" but all the same, it is stuff that many art teachers just did not know.
    So videos like this help me more than my whole 1 year I spent at Uni. So thank you.

    I’ve watched this video a few times now. I have to say it’s one of my favorite vids on TH-cam. Watching Brian’s process is fascinating and watching these images materialize in real time. Very interesting to see your different styles work into the feel of the image even though you use the same process.

    I am so appreciative of this whole SERIES of videos where you have fantastic guest artists come on and go through a piece where they walk through their process and just give you their thoughts during the whole thing - this is absolutely invaluable! From your own helpful process videos to expanding out into even uncharted territory for YOU is fascinating, and gives us all ideas for images of our own! Take an idea here, a process there - doors suddenly open wide, and I thank you so much for this, and what will also come forward! Your own curiosity is greatly benefiting us all!

    in the 90s when I was in junior high school, thousands of kilometers from your place, I already admired your work guys, and I didn't know how you made those beautiful illustration paintings I have no idea at all, and now 30 years later, thanks to advances in technology I can finally witness the process, thank you guys, keep up the good work ❤❤❤👍👍👍👍👍👍👍

    16:07 Brian says how it is crazy simple, too. I think that phrase is a sign of true understanding. When we have a true understanding of something, there is a clarity that can be confused with simplicity.

    Wow. I'm working on a Dino Ranch style guide at the moment... I'm going to be around 2 hours later than I thought on today's picture. I normally end up skipping through Vida like these (short attention span.. OH LOOK, A SQUIRREL 👀) Just watched the whole thing though. This was incredible to watch!!

    I think one of the black pencils is a Polychromos, which is oil based, not wax. (I use them), but they are completely luscious over watercolor.

    • @NelaDunato
      @NelaDunato 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      All colored pencils are wax-based, the only difference is the ratio of wax and oil in the binder. This information is directly from Faber-Castell:
      "The Polychromos Artists' Color Pencils are comprised of vegetable oil, wax and the highest quality pigments with superior lightfast characteristics and brilliance. There are minimal amounts of wax used so that there is no waxy bloom produced."

      @NelaDunato actually thats not true there are pure oil based pencils

    Princeton is actually quite expensive for synthetic brushes, not sure they would appreciate their products being labeled as "trash brushes".
