  • Jorge Molina is an artist who really needs no introduction to aspiring comic artists, and fans of the medium. He's done acclaimed work for Marvel and DC comics among others, and is one of the greatest of our time. I'm incredibly excited to learn some copic marker techniques and secrets from the very best. Join Erick Grove and me as we draw along with Jorge, and if you've got some markers ready, follow along with us!
    Jorge has a campaign going on right now for his "ZURDO - The Art of Jorge Molina" book!
    Please consider backing it here! zoop.gg/c/zurdo

    Wow, unsure how I missed this one. Interesting how very different we all approach using our Copics on our work.

    I think an underrated aspect of this channel has been watching how much Erick has improved. Dave has always been God-Mode but Erick has gone from average to really good.

    I've explored a lot of different mediums by watching these streams! I especially liked one in which you used gesso on watercolor paper for an acrylic painting! I've adapted that to a 50/50 mixture of gesso and acrylic medium as a less absorbent base so the acrylic paint can flow better and the load in the brush changes more gradually. Less surprises that way while trying to concentrate on something else.

    This was a lot of fun to watch! Also just want to say i Cant stress enough how much you can learn from painting, even if you are into comic book illustrations learning and understanding how to paint can massively expand your tool belt! :D

    When David said SDCC wasn't very good to do on your own, but tabling with Essential Sequential made it OK, what did he mean? Cost? Being around friends? I wouldn't think the actual table or chairs would be any better, so I'm a bit confused.

    As a storyboard artist many, many years ago, I worked with the old "original" Design markers (and even some of the squat, fat Magic Marker colors) which were all the stinky, oil-based variety. Then the various safety-oriented, governmental departments and ministries mandated that alcohol-based markers be used. And that was a bit of a shame, because the old kind were more "blendable," IMO... So anyway I went over to Prisma color markers but completely missed out on Copics. Now I live and breathe digital, with Clip Studio. _lol_

    Good thing alcohol markers exist and are this good as I hate anything digital.

      You can create the exact same effect in Clip Studio. Seems silly to hate digital if there's a negligible difference in outcome.

    • @UniDeathRaven

      @@hypno5690 Difference is huge when you have to go to a program that has literally 100's of different buttons with different meanings that distract you from making actual art. Physical traditional is the only way to go.

    • @FantasticOtto
      @FantasticOtto ปีที่แล้ว

      @@hypno5690It’s all about the process. Some writers cannot work on computers, and have to use a typewriter. Just as some photographers cannot stand digital cameras, and still shoot film.

    A ver si un día aprenden a colocar la cámara para encuadrar bien lo que están dibujando, que trabajan en eso, deberían conocer algo de fotografía y vídeo, después de todo, estas artes están relacionadas con la habilidad de hacer viñetas. Observen "el encuadre".
    Buenos dibujos. Interesante charla. Mala imagen de vídeo.

    Could you please set the camera up over the work and not to the side? It's exceeding difficult to follow along and interpret what the artist is doing from that angle
