I would question 10,000 a day causing Toxicity?
30 min in the midday sun gives 25-35,000 IU. Why would 10,000 a day cause toxicity?

Thank for your comment Craig. I think what Dr Jenkins was talking about is the average recommended allowance and he recommends 2 to 4k units a day. He mentioned that he takes 5k units a day. However, it all depends on someone's baseline. The idea is to bring awareness to everyone of the importance of vitamin D. We can say that 5k units a day is safe, but we can't say that 10k units a day is safe without looking at the individual case and understand the current baseline of vitamin D for this particular individual. Also being in the sun produces between 10 - 25k IU. However this entirely depends on someone's complexion and how frequently they get this exposure. Also as mentioned toxicity may happen over extended period of time. The most important thing is to test for a baseline first and this determines the ideal dose. Thank you for your comment.
Personally, I have been taking 50,000 IU once a week for the last 3 months and my level went from 60 nmol to 90 nmol. I will continue for another 3 months, then measure again.
