If anyone’s trying it, make sure you reduce the cloth mass. Cloth mass = how heavy the cloth will be and in turn affect how visible the effect will be. You can find cloth mass on the right.
@Chris Robin You might be subdividing too aggressively, my 3060 ti has no issues with subdivision in Maya, as long as my base meshes have balanced / optimized face area.
@chrisrobin4804 Yeah, it has to store everything it's rendering in VRAM. I use a 3060ti and I've done a 500x500m terrain square covered in scattered vegetation with a plane subdivided 368 times though, so it shouldn't be that bad unless you're trying to create a 16m poly mesh or some shit. It also could be that I have a shit ton of system memory, and Blender can cache an insane amount of data.
For the mind of an imbecile, maybe. Physics is simple, physics are as complicated as 2+2=4. It's just our electronic computers trying to keep up with realtime physics that's the issue. Your brain is more powerful than any computer on earth. The CPU/GPU lives in perpetual envy of the hypothalamus. The reason physics can seem so intimidating is because we struggle to measure it, because typically we are observing the shadow of a phenomenon and but not the phenomenon it's self. Simple modern day interpretations such as the formula to find the area of a sphere based on its circumference took hundreds of years to get to the point where it evolved to something you could simply write on a piece of paper, but the physics never changed. 2+2 equaled 4 long before before our molten planet began to cool. It's not that physics is inherently complex, it's that we give ourselves far too much credit for our current technological achievements, we are essentially still apes banging rocks together.

Prohibitively resource intensive if you're thinking of just dragging and dropping the super high poly sculpted mesh into a game engine. You can definitely use this to create a game ready asset, but you need to use decimation or quad drawing to create a low-poly version of the mesh to bake the normals to, and use *that* mesh in Unity.

That's incredible. The sheer amount of math and coding required to pull that off smoothly is incomprehensible

By far my favourite yool in blender
The cloth looks pretty good for a landscape
Wow this was very Helpful!
Ok this is insanely useful for making clothes look realistic
My computer felt uncomfortable after I watched this video
This would be so useful to artists to use! It could help them figure out how to draw clothing!
POV: you don’t actually use blender, you just clicked on the video because it looked cool
That looks freaking incredible!
It looks like a good landscaping tool
I have been using Blender for about a year or two now, and this is the first time I've seen this! Thank you!
Yea blender already crashed the second i thought of trying this
Thank you for this!
Thats genuinely helpful thank you
i can hear my old PC screaming at the top of its fans now..
Didn't know of this brush till now, very useful tool, thank you for the tip!
reminds me of the 4th satisfying renders on the corridor crew channel
Ooooh gonna use this
This can make really good details for games like used tissues or newspaper!!
Gonna use this for my d&d minis caped now. Ive had straight capes for a week! Still learning blender
"Inflate it"
Hey i think i can do that with my blanket too!
So fun too use like firework😂
Perfect for 3d printing
Definitely trying this ASAP
Maybe somewhat related but I cannot stress enough how amazing the cape physics are in Superman's cape in Man of Steel.
God bless the programmers who made the manifold processing code.
Shit must’ve take years to make.
How did they even make it? No idea. What the hel did they do not to burn down his computer!
im going to model my cloth now!
The cloth brush: MAKE A SUPERCELL CLOUD TO MAKE LT LOOK REAL
Looks very nice at 2 frames
Fun Fact: if you sculpt old people, cloth brush is perfect tool for wrinkles, just lower the density and work will be done

But my laptop: "Please i beg you! Don't do it again!"
I don't even have a computer odd that it recommended this to me. If I had the chance or free time I would like to learn. maybe someday in the future
I cant wait to get a pc!
Holy shit this is so handy!!
As someone who doesn’t own a computer I can confirm that this is true 👍✨👌
the fact its all free

Great for making used tissues or towels in 3D games! 😁

Yes! You can add small details as well as big ones!
