I feel you. In PS4 if you are lvl 7 Maeve or lvl 666 it doesn't matter. If you don't practise often with her , you're gonna forget everything you knew and you are gonna have to start from scratch. Happened to me and now I won't even look at her during the selection cause she gives me nightmares everytime I look at her. Btw I'm lvl 37 and kinda regret maining her

Loadouts: In my opinion "Persistence" is a must have because it saved me so many times and is not locked on an ability. Every time i made a deck for SJ and RG i've got the exact same deck on them because my playstyle is pretty much the same on these Talents

I've been working on my Maeve controls set up tonight now that I want to get good with her (I play PS4). I found that putting nine lives on square made a lot of sense since I might accidently press x to jump sometimes and because Maeve has no reload so it's easy to conceptualise nine lives as the reload abilities button instead. So I can jump with L1 normally and if I hit x it's no biggie cause I'll jump as normal. Love the video. Just thought I'd mention my variation of the controls you mentioned. I learned a lot, thank you
Oh that’s interesting, and a good strategy. When I first changed my settings (nine lives on X) I accidentally used nine lives A LOT. And basically I just forced myself to not press X bc it punishes if I did. I’m glad it was helpful :)

My Maeve is level 70, even I still have problems with Maeve. My aim is often very bad. The worst thing is when I have to fight another Maeve as a Maeve.

Fun tip: Im pretty sure some of you guys know this, using primary attacks and looking somewhere fast enough causes your 2 daggers to be away from each other I mostly use this to pick off the 2 enemies that my team struggles with.

I started playing Paladins around 2016-2017. Started in a MAC laptop with keyboard... I have no idea how I used to play it (keybinds wise), considering the left/right button of the pad are linked. When I took a 2 year break and came to it, in a different computer (same settings, MAC with keyboard, no mouse), I was completely turned off by the controllers. I couldn't remember what set-up I had to essentially play where my right hand and left hand didn't overlap. Played a handful of games, and uninstalled Paladins (my computer also struggled to keep up with the software, it would lag bad and overheat a lot). Came back in 2023, finally got a mouse, and good lord, it makes quite the difference. That said, I like Maeve because of the mobility, good range and good damage on attack. I've played against some and toggling the damage/death screen and seeing them deal 2K+ damage with 5 well placed daggers makes me want to learn and master her. I love how all her abilities/talents/cards have a good synergy. With other champions, I have to sacrifice X or Y. But with Maeve it doesn't feel like it.

Me starts play paladins for the 1st time. Picks up marvel because she's cute and look cool and is a flanking class. Me tries out here abilities out and fells like this is something I'm use to. Looks back and sees TF2 scout and going oh so this is why I fell like I'm going to be descent and have fun with this class. (Side note I main scout in tame fortress 2).
This is just amazing..Ive been playing maeve for a year and a half and manage to level her up with the default maeve settings.So i saw this and changed my jump to L1 and it did feel so weird but after a week i got used to it and it was pretty fun to do new things thx vyk
The other way I personally like to use her ULT is to isolate targets. I had a game recently where the enemy Seris was guarding the Tyra and vice versa, so I ulted from a distance, the Seris was forced to shadow travel and I was able to kill Tyra, and then run the Seris down when she reappeared. Great guide btw. Very in depth. I can see this being super helpful for newer players, and for players that think they know it all.
You can’t even teach new players how to play if the FRIGGEN GAME DOESN’T WORK. But seriously I thought she was really easy. She was my first champion I picked up on easily.
When it comes to the jump, (better for console players) you can hold your controller in the *CLAW* format and alter your settings how you like. Keep your thumbs on the analog sticks, and use your index finger to press the buttons. It'll hurt for alittle, but oh well. Works really well for Halo, and it works on a mouse/keyboard as well.
@@Vyktoryah And that's completely fine. Alot of Competitive games in general is using what you're comfortable with. Halo has fixed settings- you can't alter button mapping, and it wasn't as effective using my preferred scheme holding the controller regularly, so I learned claw.
alternatively if you dont want to change your jump and play xbox you can play claw, where you move your right first finger to the buttons. ive been playing that way for pretty much every game for years; lets you aim and still have full control of the buttons, in some games like rocket league you can even have your thumb and first finger on the buttons and be able to precisely control multiple at once. just something else to consider

129 Maeve and 204 io main here and the best way to play Maeve is to now when to retreat and pick your fights wisely she has low health but is a huge hitter
Oh you changed the jump and nine lives the same as I did! It really bothered me when I couldnt jump and move my pov at the same time and had to do both separately. It also helped me reduce using pounce as a damage option because my finger was constantly on jump instead
Dear gods this video was so many kinds of helpful. I started looking for guides on other characters that went into the same level of depth and I can't find any that are at all recent (Like less than 6 months) most just say what the cards are and jump into a game, a good number don't even say what the character does or anything let alone why to pick what cards or what talent works for what purpose. Maeve Players, beware of Lex. He can snipe you clean out of the air. (Saying this as a Lex and Raum main)
Also Raum can just yeet Maeve in the spawn.

129 Maeve and 204 io main here and the best way to play Maeve is to now when to retreat and pick your fights wisely she has low health but is a huge hitter

Oh you changed the jump and nine lives the same as I did! It really bothered me when I couldnt jump and move my pov at the same time and had to do both separately. It also helped me reduce using pounce as a damage option because my finger was constantly on jump instead
it is so tough playing with 1900 hp u did it easily with maeve amazing

Dear gods this video was so many kinds of helpful. I started looking for guides on other characters that went into the same level of depth and I can't find any that are at all recent (Like less than 6 months) most just say what the cards are and jump into a game, a good number don't even say what the character does or anything let alone why to pick what cards or what talent works for what purpose. Please do more guide videos :)

I suggest using R3 to jump it helps with sly flick shots and aim when jumping
Fuzion Bangz too much pressure on the sticks can throw off aim, especially when you press the sticks how i do, with the joint of my thumb and not the fingertip

Thanks, it was really useful. Guys I reccomend you all to buy scuf controller or elite (scuff is ps4 elite is xbox) the controllers have paddles behind so you can aim and jump without taking off your thumb from the joystic

But most of the things you said like training your aim at spawn are things even me, a new player already know of
I think it’s something that any player should know regardless of witch character they play
But there are a few things there like the load outs that really are helping me out since I’m still trying to get the hang of it

Hello, I recently encountered your channel. You have great and interesting videos. I also play via PS4, and I would like to play for Maeve, but I have a constant lag and because of this it is impossible to play for the flanks. Was there such a situation with you if so, how did you cope with it?
