Thankyou Nick , I grew up on a cotton farm outside San Angelo, Texas. No tents and druggies on the streets of Odessa. No fear for the police the locals will move your tent for you I am sure, of it. Real Texans are good people they just want to be left alone. Thankyou for a the nice videos you always give us. I live in Southeastern Washington State for 32 years. Great place , rural type agriculture but it has grown almost too big with Pasco, Kennewick, Richland (tri cities) over 325K now. Was 145,000 when I moved here.

Just living in Odessa is enough to make you turn bad. Freezing cold in the winter, buring hot i the summer. The wind blows 15-20 every day and its as flat as the lunar surface. Most the jobs in the oil business are hard, unless youre an engineer. Im in a bad mood just talking about it and I've never lived there.

Right next to Odessa is Midland, which has zero character, and is perpetually covered with dirt. I'm not kidding about the dirt. I pulled into a major gas station in Midland, and wondered why such a large establishment wasn't paved. Turned out, it WAS paved. The pavement was just buried under two inches of loose dirt. True story.

People would kill snakes & hang them from the fence posts in their front yards. Walking down the street was terrifying to me. The people were kind. I always wondered what it was like today. They must take a lot of work, and I love how they are long videos of your adventures and they really are informative and eye opening, as well as interesting (and your sense of humor always makes me laugh). They are healing because they are voices of something that needs attention. They are thought provoking videos and gives perspective and attention to things that need work. I like how you give voices to so many people from different walks of life. As well as your own thoughts.
It's meaningful. Keep it up cowboy! (Being serious!) :)

Back in the 1970's I flew into the Midland/Odessa Airport. What was notable being from upstate New York, how flat. I could see the curvature of the earth, the electric power poles disappearing over the horizon. I was certainly impressed a local dealership had a Rolls Royce on display. There was a flurry of single engine aircraft taking off for about an hour. It was quitting time, around 4p. These were the commuters. Hey, a virtual , unobstructed emergency airfield out there.
