Accurate, can you make a maintenance video. A full breakdown of the reel, I have Dauntless, terns and Valiants. I can take off the sideplate but don't venture far from that 😂

I love this reel. Am using Valiant 600 BV-2. I used it more than one year. And so far one of the best reel I ever tried.
Am looking for a vedio how to service this reel by my self. Because am using it in Maldives and in her we don't have any good service provider for this reel. So please share us a vedio based on how to service.

Best way to care for reel is lightly spray reel off with fresh water tap rod butt on ground to get out excess water. Wind reel at a fast pace to clear any other water. Let it sit until dry then back off drag and hold hand on reel then turn the handle which will free bearings. Once you do this take a drop of Corrsion X which you got a tube with reel and put on 2-speed plunger. Also lubricate drag tension knob on threads and a drop on screws that hold reel foot on reel. Constantly have issues with the 2-speed engagement/disengagement on a bv-2 500 from the day it came out of the box. Searches for gears, doesn’t engage, grinds, mess compared to the talica.

@Accurate I’ve got a 6 to 1 gear ratio Valíant would you avoid trying to crank in a fish ? I’m worried the gears have a higher chance stripping if I do that. Thank you

If you have the right rod with a 6.1 gear ratio even with some drag I doubt you would hurt the gears. We have caught 100 lb tuna on a 500N 6.1 with no problem just takes time. Hope this helps.

Its a direct drive so its instant. Other manufacturers have a 90' turn before engagement. Our pinion is engaged.
