I would like to also remind everyone that often, these negative traits are associated with general unhappiness, uninterest, or depression. For me personally, I’m hard-working, happy, patient, and passionate ONLY when I love what I do. Don’t just count yourself out as lazy or unenthused unless you possess those traits even while doing something you love/your passion. If you’ve never done anything you’re truly passionate about, you wouldn’t know how hard you’d work at it. Just try.
I’m lazy but ever since starting real estate I felt more active and strive and push myself to my goal. Not giving up and striving for the best ain’t easy but anyone can get it done if you put time and effort into it
You Nailed it. Real Estate is TOUGH! But, if you're willing to work hard, the money can be GREAT. If I could do it again, I'd become an agent at age 18 & start buying investment properties.
Hey, you say you’d start real estate at 18? I turned 18 a month ago and am in my freshman year of college pursuing a Finance Degree. What are the benefits of starting at 18?
@@matthewlocke9225 Hey Matthew, I’m starting at eighteen I am going to take my exam soon. The benefits are that most of the time your expenses aren’t high so if you don’t sell anything for a few months you’re not in big trouble. You get four years of experience by the time you’re 22. You also have lots of energy to hustle hard.
@@matthewlocke9225 Because the earlier you start the farther down the road you are in terms of success. Some people live a mediocre lifestyle for over 20 years before they start. Why wait that long?
IM TIRED OF WORKING FOR SOMEONE !!! SICK OF IT ! All they are, is So negative, impatient, want things done in a dang rush! I’ve been thinking about real estate for the past couple of months. I have a 8 month old son. I’m tired going from job to job because I can’t figure myself out. I want to give my son more than what I had. I know nothing in life is easy. You have to start from the bottom! But am I going to give up ? HECKNO! I want to better myself as a person not just for myself, but for others around me. ESPECIALLY MY BOY. I wish everyone here the best in life and what the future awaits for everyone. Stay Positive Guys. Love Life🤙🏽
Seems like the brokers and YT coaches only want you if your welling to give up your life up to work 120 hours per week otherwise this isn’t for you. Bottom line is you get what you put into it. Wanna make $40-70k fine, but if you want to make $125k+ you better work for it. It is like any other job.
i’m a 16 almost 17 year old in 11th grade and I been wanting to become a realtor and this video was amazing and gave me so much knowledge, Wish me luck in life everyone👍
I will change the title, The new title for this video is INCORPORATE THESE AND BECOME AN ELITE REAL ESTATE AGENT. Dont let this guy confuse you. Good luck guys
I know! I thought this video would be actually related to real estate not a dude saying hey my job is hard. Dont do it if you dont work hard like me. Lmao thanks for all the insightful knowledge you clown.
Good points! I would add, If your extremely Introverted or lack decent Communication skills don’t do it. If you have social anxiety or don’t like talking on the phone most of the day, don’t do it. Unfortunately Real estate schools don’t discuss how personalities play a major role in the rise or fall of Real Estate Agents vs other careers or endeavors. These (6 words) discussed in this video are considered personality traits. Some can be changed and some can’t. None are less important then the other.
This is good reason why I want to become a real estate agent. I know how extroverted I am and I don’t want to give up that potential on a job that doesn’t allow me to communicate
@@Ms88Chick you said you were extroverted on your earlier post. It’s not that big of a deal either way. As long as your not super Introverted, cause that Could hold someone back. When your not on a Salary or not getting paid to interact and communicate would you want to for Free? Would you enjoy attending Weekly networking events, working when you don’t have to, or never have a planned Day off. As long as your Self motivated and curious to keep Learning year after year and not allow personal relationships distract you from building a career. Because all your friends or Family who work 9 to 5 jobs always feel realtors don’t need to work and plan things around there days off lol. Saturday and Sundays are going to busy for 1st year or 2.
@@Ms88Chick it’s needs to be for yourself and nobody else. If you don’t want it bad for yourself, it’s almost impossible to Dedicate the time needed. One said they needed to take son to Orthodontist, another said they had to run errands with daughter, and other said there kid was under the weather. The problem is, nobody makes you do anything in real estate it’s ( all Optional) because your a independent contractor. But if they were getting paid, they would have all showed up to help grow there biz. So, these are the things i see and hear everyday. That’s why it’s hard to determine who will become great agents and what makes a great agent. The top Agents all have 1 thing in common, they Put everything second to Real Estate. Imagine opening up a restaurant or a coffee house or a sports bar Ex ex. Even though your not getting paid to be there and work; your there everyday and make yourself available everyday. I was 28 when I got licensed
I hate videos like these. What these videos are doing is discouraging people from actually trying it out and possibly succeeding. Do yourself a favor and fire then aim and if it doesn’t work out then great now you know. Don’t NOT do something because someone else says that you shouldn’t or can’t.
@@anjalii363 look at how BROAD all of these reasons are. Every single person has or has had every one of these at some point in their lives. Which means there’s a good chance this video is just making them feel like crap even though they could excel at this if they tried. Don’t watch these ridiculous videos and go do it. Sometimes you need to shoot and then aim.
I get what you’re saying and I think you have a point. But I see this video as cautionary and useful in expectation-control. It’s a good heads up for those that don’t wanna risk wasting time trying stuff out. If they want it enough, a 9min video by a stranger shouldn’t discourage them
I would add "emotional" to this list. You have to grit your teeth and put your emotions aside, because clients will throw a whole lot your way, even if you aren't the person they are angry or frustrated with. You have to be the one to take emotion out of the equation or the sale could be affected.

I actually LOVE this devil's advocate side of the argument. Everyone's always saying "you can do this, look at this side hustle, look its so easy. Just take a class and get licensed, etc etc" . But you actually make me question myself and through this self doubt I've come to the decision that I genuinely want to do this. Thank you for this.

People don't realise the level of stress you experience with this job. Actually I wanted an office job cause I thought it would be easier than layering bricks all day and breaking your back. Real estate will break your mind and in consequence your body from the stress if you aren't fit for it.

This is the same as an application when applying for a job. They always want to pick out those that they don’t think are capable of doing the job. I see where you are coming from and I get your view, you have to want it bad. The way to make it honesty in the “REAL ESTATE” is to be confident and have a lot of friends with big word of mouth and of course yourself. It’s about being trustworthy, knowing what you sell and being confident and being able to sell and change peoples mind. You have to know how to build friendship as well. Real estate is more then selling property, it’s about making friendship and about having others believe in you when making their first or other purchase in their investment. Hi Michael. I have seen many former law enforcement professionals do very well as a real estate broker. You were likely able to check off that you are not any of the 5 characteristics he mentions.
I fit a lot of those "Do Not"s but I'm willing and am actively trying to fix those flaws, I can't see myself working in some mundane 9-5 desk job I want to go into real estate with the goal of setting myself up to support my family when I eventually have one and to help the people who come to me with whatever they need in regards to their homes I want to assist those who seek my skills and expertise with all that I am able to and beyond That is my goal and I'm willing to do anything with honesty and love to achieve it

wow! Now I want to enter the real estate profession with conviction! It's 2023 and I am ready. I will do the work initially and then I will be in touch. In my view most real estate professions that I have monitored by going out and viewing apartments are lazy. They open the door and are like "here it is" and they stand in the corner on the cellphone while I look around and then ask me "do you like the unit because if not I have others". Say if I did in NYC why the heck am I going to pay you a $3500 commission when you're not really interested in the sales process only want to collect the money because I am required to use you to mediate with the landlord. I just decided today that real estate might be my journey. After years of watching hgtv. After years of trying to find a career that is self driven based , dealing with small crowds or one on one, something where I'm my own boss ( at the same time not the boss of others), and involving something I'm interested in. I am also passionate about finding outfits that aren't advertised like something you'd see on a tv show. I'm always able to follow strict criteria and price point. I know I'd be able to find the right house for everyone. I'm excited about learning more before making a final decision to enroll to get my liscense.

Honestly..Thankyou. I’ve been doing my research on where to start my real estate journey and this gave me so much motivation and realization. I needed this
Unfortunately I am all these things. I recently passed my real estate test, and I am just coming to grips with what I signed up for. I already don't have much money and I already owe $3000+ just setting myself up. Had I watched this video 3 years ago, I probably wouldn't have become an agent. But the problem is I already was like this BEFORE becoming an agent. If I chose a different career it would only be the same result. I'm a coward on top of all the things mentioned in this list. So why do I keep going? The reason is because this real estate career is the FIRST thing I've ever done where bs'ing couldn't solve my problems. It's the first thing that I've worked hard for. I failed the test 4 times and each time it cost me money, time, and willpower. The feeling I felt when I passed was unlike anything I've ever felt. I really can't explain it, it goes beyond words, for the first time in my life I didn't feel like a loser or a side character in my life. I felt like Uzui when he fought Gyutaro, All Might when he fought All for One. THAT feeling. And I want more. I want to overcome these five things and so I will continue on, I want to be greater than I am right now and the only way to do that is to do the things that terrify me. Sorry for ranting, but I needed to tell myself that.
I appreciate you making this video; these are all key and needed for success. I'm saving up money to apply for a real estate license so wish me luck. Your content is awesome.

Impatient is good, be impatient. Don’t wait for an opportunity, create it. Impatient is a sign of hunger. Diyer? He’s using a fear tactic, using basic fears most people have, so that you buy his course. Everyone can fall into these categories, don’t let his discourage you. I question his course, if he has do this to get people to buy it.
Great pointers. It's unfortunate how many people think they are going to make a lot of money getting into real estate but they are willing to put in the time and effort. If it was easy everyone would do it. It generally take years of building your a business

ESPECIALLY MY BOY. yes! I attended her classes online
Who's this proffesional everyone is talking about I always see good recommendation about her on top comments on every TH-cam video I watched
Go get it ! ;)
I'm an introvert, but this makes me go harder. Because people don't think I can do it.
Not really he’s helping you out and Savin you from things you won’t expect 🤷♀️
@@anjalii363 look at how BROAD all of these reasons are. Every single person has or has had every one of these at some point in their lives.

This is great video! I have always had an interest in Real Estate and I think this video is great to establish what is needed from my part to attain the goal of becoming a realtor. I think that this is the best perspective to look at the situation: (1) Motivated, (2) Patience is Key, (3) Be able to attain knowledge/experience from others. Great Job Kevin.
10 seconds in, I thought HE just doesn't want any competition! Way to inspire Kevin! 🖕
I am not a quitter. You have to be Self driven. Thanks Kevin.
i’m happy i came to the comment section instead of just watching the video. while these are all good points, the video itself feels so discouraging.
if you want to be a real estate agent and you’re lacking in these key areas that he mentioned, just work on yourself and get there. he mentioned it at the end of the video but i almost didn’t make it all the way through.

It was scary at the beginning then the end gave me so much courage all it takes it’s a will
I knew what the five points were in order BEFORE you wrote them. Looks like real estate is for me!!! ❤️ Thanks for this awesome video!
@Raechelyn Dawn how are you doing?
Thank you for this...

So glad i watched this video first before any other realtor startup videos. It gave my a key insight on what i should and shouldn't be in order to proceed down this career path. Very straight forward no bs.
Someone that’s new, that has high goals. Don’t listen that you can’t make a ton of easy money. Working a hard 9 to 5 job with now room or chance to become rich is much harder. Impatient is good, be impatient. Don’t wait for an opportunity, create it. Impatient is a sign of hunger. Diyer? Being responsible for you own business, I refuse to put my future in someone’s else’s hands. You totally negate yourself throughout this video. New realtors don’t listen to this guy. He’s using a fear tactic, using basic fears most people have, so that you buy his course. Everyone can fall into these categories, don’t let his discourage you. I question his course, if he has do this to get people to buy it.
Damn I didn't look at this video this way, thanks for your imput
Great pointers. It's unfortunate how many people think they are going to make a lot of money getting into real estate but they are willing to put in the time and effort. If it was easy everyone would do it. It generally take years of building your a business
A quitter never wins and a winner never Quits, believing in yourself step 1 .
