I got a 7018B and installed it last week. Installation wasn't too difficult... actually easy when you consider I've rebuilt a Land Rover engine and gearbox several times. And I'm talking the real ones, 1971 models. Anyway, almost all the problems I had were due to wiring color discrepancies with the unit and in the car. These were generally minor and wouldn't have been anything to someone with a modicum of auto wiring under their belt. Or wherever you keep your modicum. Anyway, I was able to pick up a mounting adapter at Walmart. That took a little tweaking, but the unit looks fantastic now that it's in. I did a little trick with my mounting adapter bezel - the part that shows around the face of the unit when installed. The one I got was really cheap looking glossy black plastic. Just wiped the part down with some isopropyl alcohol (I use 50%) and sprayed it very lightly with Plasti-Dip brand rubberized coating. Normally, you use this to coat tool handles and electrical connections. I had it to use on the discolored black decorative fake grills on the front of my car, and I really liked the texture. If you get the spray at about US$8.99, just shake very well and apply several VERY light coats. I swear to G-d, it looks fantastic! Once everything was in I was stunned with how well it worked. The FM radio signals are fine, finally getting BluTooth to work with my iPhone was almost an emotional moment for me. Finally! Music... in MY car! I think I soiled myself. I haven't played a movie from USB card yet, but if that works as well as everything else, it will rock. **Let me make one important point here. If you put in a movie while driving, that's fine if it's for your passenger, fine. If it is going to be a distraction to you, PLEASE don't use that function. Listen to the soundtrack instead. Honestly, even glancing at the screen and saying, Oh, this is cool... look at this part right...BAM!!! That's your airbag going off. Just to share a laugh or a pretty girl with your passenger can kill the absolute shit out of you both, and maybe other innocent people. Jeez, guys. Please be responsible, OK? And by the way, many US states and other countries have laws against having a TV or similar screen in the driver's field of view. My conclusion is that the functions I bought this for are met completely. I really don't know about hands-free calling, my car had Sirrius, and there is a freaking WORLD of wiring back there... maybe later. The instructions that came in my box were almost non-existent. You can google 7018B online and find what you need. And lastly, the graphics are just a little, I don't know, sort of like a cheap video game vs one with awesome visuals. But you know, that isn't why I bought this so it is PERFECT in my book. Take Cool Gadget Reviews word for it and if you're even THINKING about putting a system like this in your car, look for the best price on a 7018B and you won't be disappointed!

Honestly, it sounds WAYY better than I thought even a much more expensive unit would have. I think the pricey sound systems in cars are going to find it much tougher now that this little unit is available everywhere. I'm predicting a major market shift away from the custom installers, except for vanity or really specialized installations. You are on the cutting edge, and really gave me some great information on how to enjoy the unit. Next time I'll be checking out your recommendations BEFORE I buy something. Hi. I currently have a double din JVC in my 307cc. I use a memory stick for my music, however, I have all my albums stored in folders on that stick, under the artist names. Will this unit recognise folders on the stick, or can it only recognise individual tacks (as in I will have to store all tracks individually in root drive) Also, please can you tell me where I can get the cage from? hi, your usb will work fine and your music will be in the alphabetical order to your folder names/groups or you can select individual music folder. the cage is called Xtrons cage and the surround thing is xtrons too. you can get it on ebay. thanks for subscribing 👍
Hey bro, os it possible to transfer files wirelessly? Like photos or videos?. Or do i have to use an sd card? I just hooked up my xbox to it and it works great.

the sound is what you pay for, beginner audio and the panel is not very responsive. Save up some more money and buy one with better sound is my advice, it's not bad but when you're used to a good car stereo this is a big step down.
I have the 7010B version of this stereo. Pretty good for the money, but probably won't keep it for too long. Most things work perfectly. I have found the Bluetooth microphone quality isn't reliable. Screen mirroring is cool, but while running maps, you can't run music etc.

I got one question... when i go to play video's off the usb (same mini stick as yours), i get a "parking brake must be on" message. I see you dont have that, how did you wire it or bypass it with the wiring. I cant find anything on the wiring diagram relating to this. Thanks!
hi, sorry for late reply their is a handbrake wire you have to ground it so the stereo thinks you have the handbrake on then you can watch movies on the go. so that how you bypass it but for safety please dont watch while you are driving
hi, you have to activate the debugging feature on your phone for this to work. but its really a pain to get it work which is why i didnt do a video on it
Hello 👋 I have the same device. But I have a problem, everytime I start the car the device start playing fm audio with extremely loud volume. I would set the volume to 4, and turn off the car, and when I start the car again the volume is automatically set to 20 which is very very loud. Could you maybe help me with this issue?
I bought the 7018b and it doesn't have this same software. Turns out several companies make these units and it's hit and miss with what software you get. Sucks

hi, they didnt wire up the stereo properly, on this stereo you might have to swap the yellow and the red wire around on some cars so that the stereo comes on and off with the key
Aah that makes sense. The yellow cable should go straight to battery to keep the memory in and the red wire goes to accessories/ignition to power on/off the device

(While playing from USB/Memory Card) When car is turned OFF and key removed, does this radio have memory for last point on a song/movie if I switch ignition back ON? If I switched OFF in the middle of a song, will it memorize that point and not playing song from beginning? Thanks.
yes it does have memory and it will start at the last song or where you left off the movie and also even if you remove the usb and memory card and put it back in, it will still remember the last song played or where you left off on the movie how cool is that!
I recently purchased a 1070B, no real instructions. It did come with a wiring harness for my year vehhcle had to move the red wire and yellow wire. Only problem i have and maybe I'm missing something, the android auto won't connect with the zlink fot the Bluetooth and radio is just static. Does it require a usb thumb drive?
hi, red wire is constant power to you stereo which saves all your settings, yellow wire is your ignition so when you start your car it powers the stereo on. so your wiring is wrong way round, swap the red wire and yellow wire at the wiring harness. hope that helps make sure you Subscribe

hi to do mirror screen with your phone you need to go into you developer options in your phone and turn on debugginh option i think, so watch another video on how to debug your phone then it might work, but i not guaranteeing you anything. hope that helps and make sure you Subscribe 👍

@@jonharrington9545 With Mirror link* you can connect your Phone display on the radio. So you can use ur Radio like an "android radio" kinda. For example. To watch the MAPS on the radio and in meantime you listen also to music or do sth else whatever you want. Keep in mind. You do this with the Phone not with the radio. U just see the Display from the phone on the radio ( Via Bluetooth ) . So i've seen some radios exactly like mine has this future and the other one too. But mine doesn't. So im looking for an software update do it myself on the radio but i haven't find one.

hi friend mirror link is abit difficult becuase you have to unlock developer option on your phone first and then find the debugging option on your phone and so on it is a long process but it does work. might do a video in the future but it may only work on some smart phones

Cool Gadget Reviews 04 fiesta zetec, it’s technically a triple din in there so I thought about the old hacksaw to accommodate it, but I’m struggling with is fixing the housing for it etc and a possible surround

I'm looking for a site or forum for updating the firmware and maybe any hacks that are available for these cool head units... I'd really like it to retain the memory settings I put in after the car battery is disconnected... what a pain when you get everything perfect, and then you have to disconnect the battery for some reason and now you have to re-do all your presets and settings :-(
Thanks for this video. I recently purchased a one like it but with different model which doesn't have volume roller, it is all touch, but I have some issue with it... it turns on every time I run the car even if I turn the accessories on with the antenna rise and a welcome screen and then it turns off automatically, it suppose to save last operation like if you turn it off while the car is running it wont turn on when you turn the car on next time, it also doesn't turn lights of power button when you drive at night in a way that when I want to turn it on I search by my finger on the screen to find the power button. Any help will be appreciated.
Hi, i think you have wired up the stereo wrong. swap the red and yellow wires around at the back of the stereo. check the wiring. Make sure you Subscribe to my channel 👍
@@coolgadgetreviews it has nothing to do with stereo wires, it is about signal wire to antenna, I put switch on/off at this wire, I can now manually control the antenna.
easy download from internet as mp4 format or copy your dvd's with DVD ripper software on to your computer harddrive then copy from you computer harddrive onto your USB. hope that helps

Exactly. This radio has no real Equalizer settings. Sounds super cheap. The one I bought lasted a day before I pawned it lol

hi, i think you have the wiring at the back of the stereo wrong, swap the red and yellow wires see if the helps

Aah that makes sense. The yellow cable should go straight to battery to keep the memory in and the red wire goes to accessories/ignition to power on/off the device

(While playing from USB/Memory Card) When car is turned OFF and key removed, does this radio have memory for last point on a song/movie if I switch ignition back ON? If I switched OFF in the middle of a song, will it memorize that point and not playing song from beginning? Thanks.
yes it does have memory and it will start at the last song or where you left off the movie and also even if you remove the usb and memory card and put it back in, it will still remember the last song played or where you left off on the movie how cool is that!

I recently purchased a 1070B, no real instructions. It did come with a wiring harness for my year vehhcle had to move the red wire and yellow wire. Only problem i have and maybe I'm missing something, the android auto won't connect with the zlink fot the Bluetooth and radio is just static. Does it require a usb thumb drive?

hi, red wire is constant power to you stereo which saves all your settings, yellow wire is your ignition so when you start your car it powers the stereo on. so your wiring is wrong way round, swap the red wire and yellow wire at the wiring harness. hope that helps make sure you Subscribe

hi to do mirror screen with your phone you need to go into you developer options in your phone and turn on debugginh option i think, so watch another video on how to debug your phone then it might work, but i not guaranteeing you anything. hope that helps and make sure you Subscribe 👍

@@jonharrington9545 With Mirror link* you can connect your Phone display on the radio. So you can use ur Radio like an "android radio" kinda. For example. To watch the MAPS on the radio and in meantime you listen also to music or do sth else whatever you want. Keep in mind. You do this with the Phone not with the radio. U just see the Display from the phone on the radio ( Via Bluetooth ) . So i've seen some radios exactly like mine has this future and the other one too. But mine doesn't. So im looking for an software update do it myself on the radio but i haven't find one.

hi friend mirror link is abit difficult becuase you have to unlock developer option on your phone first and then find the debugging option on your phone and so on it is a long process but it does work.
might do a video in the future but it may only work on some smart phones
I did it on android and it does not appear on the radio the option of mirror link help

Hi, no logos on this version. Comes with standard iso but you might have to swap the red and yellow wires

hi yes it does have mirror option but the reason why i didnt demonstrate it was because you have to activate the debugging option on your phone and few other stuff

I'd really like it to retain the memory settings I put in after the car battery is disconnected... what a pain when you get everything perfect, and then you have to disconnect the battery for some reason and now you have to re-do all your presets and settings :-(

Thanks for this video. I recently purchased a one like it but with different model which doesn't have volume roller, it is all touch, but I have some issue with it... it turns on every time I run the car even if I turn the accessories on with the antenna rise and a welcome screen and then it turns off automatically, it suppose to save last operation like if you turn it off while the car is running it wont turn on when you turn the car on next time, it also doesn't turn lights of power button when you drive at night in a way that when I want to turn it on I search by my finger on the screen to find the power button. Any help will be appreciated.
Hi, i think you have wired up the stereo wrong. swap the red and yellow wires around at the back of the stereo. check the wiring. Make sure you Subscribe to my channel 👍
@@coolgadgetreviews it has nothing to do with stereo wires, it is about signal wire to antenna, I put switch on/off at this wire, I can now manually control the antenna.

How were you able to download all those movies onto a usb drive? Did you buy them?
easy download from internet as mp4 format or copy your dvd's with DVD ripper software on to your computer harddrive then copy from you computer harddrive onto your USB. hope that helps
