*IMPORTANT SPOILER/MODERATION NOTE* Please remember that pointing out missed items, lore points, etc. are SPOILERS for REPLAY, or for people who are "Playing Along". Comments along these lines will be removed by the moderators - - - General advice about an area ( "There's more lore in the amusement park" ) is acceptable. Pointing out specific items or areas ( "You missed the *BlastoMatic 9000* under the cotton candy machine" or "there's a secret room behind the changing room bookcase" ) is not acceptable.
It's always blown my mind how video game characters never have thunder thighs. You make them crouch and duck walk for miles and they never complain about their legs being on fire and never reaching muscle failure.
You can’t override corrupted machines yeah. Also I’d do revenge of the Nora because the story will keep pulling you west and you will likely forget about it
I also would recommend that. However, it's one of the must have quest sequences. The game will remind you sooner or later. There are other points which underline this recommendation to stay a little longer in Nora territory. It won't get easier. Behind Daytower the whole world is now open to you with all the "really big machines" you didn't see yet. (Some of these you can find in side valleys of the Nora land as well but there are more to come ahead.) Daytower is a good place to upgrade your gear. Then to go back and check it out.
The random encounters you see while exploring the world between bandits & machines can be interesting to watch. Yes the bandits can be killed by machines and the do not loot their machine kills at all. You can loot those machines yourself. Handy.
The thing with throwing a rock to lure machines / enemies is that they go to where the rock lands and makes noise, not to where the rock was thrown from, unless they detect Aloy while throwing it..
You were impressed by how your overridden grazer cleaned house, an overridden watcher will do the same relentless attacks on fellow machines and it's fun to watch.
I agree… I ended up using that approach very little, mostly focusing on my ranged weapons skills, which is necessary when you meet the top-tear machines…
You can disable that dodge movement. Settings > Mouse & Keyboard > Double Tap to Dodge Your play-thru has inspired me to start playing the Remastered version. That unintended dodge was driving me nuts. The way I press keys must look like a double tap to the game.
Another great Episode! thanks. I think you are ready to just walk up and bash a low level watcher over the head, even if their are 2. 😂 It will help improve your melee skills which are eventually needed later on when you can't stealth. Take the time you need for the Move. We will be here when you get the time. 🙂
You did loot that destroyed watcher. 😄 There are certain world items, such as destroyed watchers, that can respawn if you move far enough away. They don't always respawn and they're not worth farming, but it's a nice little bonus if you go back over certain spots.
I see you like the sneaky approach so you don't get overwhelmed by higher level machines. Possibly a smart move to run rather than die, but keep in mind if you run too far from an area you're attacking it can "reset". The machines you killed probably weren't scavenged in that case, it's probably just alive again.
The machines do 'talk' to each other, so if one notices you it is quite possible that all nearby machines will be alerted to your presence. Ross mention this to six-year old Aloy when teaching you to hunt in the totorial.
Another fab episode in your great style, as said elsewhere enjoying this and Subnautica immensely. Is frustrating having to wait as these are so good but considering you are busy they are more than worth the wait. Playing Subnautica now after HZDR and finding it scary at times, for some reason even though it is just a game, the watery setting is unsettling, but it is still a good game too. Corrupted machines are tougher perhaps you could compensate in choice of arrow...
Yes corruption can damage you, but you can craft an antidote potion, (green color bottle) to get a little protection from using the potion. Also, there is an armor you can buy that will also sickness protection. Sickness Eater armor, green, blue, & purple versions; the best always being the best you can get.
I love both your horizon and subnoutica playthrough's and I cant get enough. But moving is time consuming and stress full. So if that means I get shorter of less video's so be it. Take care of yourself. in the mean time I'll take what i can get 💚
Not sure if you’d gone back to the cauldron your loot would have still been there. 🤔 Pretty sure if you shoot the blaze canisters off of machines with arrows you can still collect them. If you shoot them off with tearblast arrows the canisters are destroyed. FYI 😉🤘🏻Corrupted machines can’t be overridden, ever. Corrupted zones are areas with corrupted machines that need clearing out to help the people in the area. Helping Aloy gain XP. 😉 While it’s fun to watch your overridden machine kill other machines Aloy doesn’t gain XP. I recommend holding out for purple outfits & weapons. While sprinting if you hold down crouch Aloy while start sliding. Helps when retreating into the tall grass. Bandits show up reddish orange in the focus & blue for friendlies. You’ll need fish bones to upgrade satchels. FYI 😉🤘🏻As Aloy goes up in level, I think, the machine levels go up as well. Stays within 10 levels of Aloy I believe. 1:02:56 that was the scapper signaling it’s all clear to other machines. The Cut is DLC. I’d ignore that till after you’ve completed the main story. Good luck with your move sis. Hope it goes smoothly. I ALWAYS enjoy your play throughs. Thank you! 😉🤘🏻
Hi Liera, nice play.💖 There is no area damage in HZD. Corrupted Zones are areas with corrupted machines (which you cannot override). You should whenever possible not get too close to them, else they will infect you (damage over time). But as you saw with the corruptor some machines can also infect you over distance. In this case not only you but also the bottom below you is infected (likewise the foot prints you saw). So to avoid to stay corrupted, you should move. You can decrease DOT also by drinks and weave to your armor. Hint: your bow damage is terrible! Checkout the merchant in daytower. He's the 1st merchant with significant better items (purple). You also might detect some other items you wish to have. Hint 2: You got a quest in daytower (merchant telling about the "Cut"). This will lead you towards the DLC. Don't go there (yet) ;)
Also a little advice. You can craft resistance potions. Those are really good, make some, drink the green one before fighting corrupted machines, it will give you good resistance to damage from element. Armors great too, but they are expensive and need rare parts.
Yes, the "cut" is the gateway to the DLC area, most people say it's best left untill after finishing the main game, but i think it's best to do just before the ending..
Tear arrows can't tear components form the machines that don't have animal form. Instead those other machines expose their heart or main processor, other than the guns, while they are in flames.
TBH I've never paid attemtion to the "level rating" on machines - just learned to run away if it started seriously kicking my butt, or looked really deadly in the notebook once scanned ( or, let's be honest, killed me quickly in combat :D ). As for missions - it's been my experience that if you do most/all of the side missions as they come up early in the game, you end up a good chunk of levels higher then the story missions' recommended levels by the time they come up. It's also been my experience that the game scales missions a bit to you ( I think - other people may disagree that the game does this ) but I've almost never found a mission to be so easy as to be boring, even if I didn't get around to it for 10 levels :D
I don't know who else felt this but every mission rating was wildly off base for me. If it had a low rating, it would kick my butt. If it had a high rating I would have no problems. The machine ratings were a closer to match imo.
With my very limited experience so far, this tracks. I can probably be more or less comfortable with higher level machines, but somehow lower lever missions seem over the top, at least for now.
Awesome timing. Now for some entertainment! Edit: it didn't damage you - going up a level meant you get more health, so you were able to pick up the plant. Edit edit: watch the weapon video in the merchant screen to see if you want to buy a weapon.
I really loved playing this one when it came out.. The World and vibe was soo good. I tried playing Wildlands last year but I couldn't get into it like the original. I'll have to give it another try this year. The combat in the original feels better to me, but maybe it's all in my head and the combat is the same on both games??
It can be done pretty much separately - but the machines wandering around the valley to get to the passage to "The Cut" mean you *really* need to take care if you're not high enough level.
I'd prefer she just play the game her own way and get to it when she gets to it. Best not to rush through the game. I'm sure she will play the story missions when she feels like it.
Someone else here was asking too. I wasn't planning on going this far, so I'll be circling back into Nora territory next time, there's lots I haven't seen there yet!
@@LieraPlays Good decision 👍 However, if you are curious, you could just move a little further. From Daytower - mountain top - you can see Meridian. The view is fabulous! 💖 If you're even more curious you can have a little descent from Daytower. Some people here mentioned "really large machines". There is one that can be seen from top but you can also descent to have a closer look. You can return whenever you want. It will give you a good motivation to return... 😏
I've never understood the logic behind a lot of various crafting recipes. Like how you are just making a leather bag of some shape, but for some reason Boar hide is ok for Bag A, but NOT Bag B. And yet when you look at them after being made it's....almost an identical design and skin 🤣 I enjoy crafting/gathering in games, but that's always been one detail that's irked me. The arbitrary segregation of gear behind specific animal components, that logically would be interchangeable. For some stuff it makes sense. I'm making a large frame of some kind, I need big bones, so I need to hunt animals with large limbs and thus big bones, fine. But, things like hide? Come on 🤣I don't NEED to make this thing out of bengal tiger hide compared to deer hide. Yes I'm looking at you Farcry series 🤣

Sad this occurred so much it needed a pinned comment
27:57 "Freeze canister... Oh... ICY"
Well done Liera, well done.
:D
Fun video again as usual! 👌
"Hammer Sharks with legs" is still the funniest thing I've ever heard regarding this game!
😆

isn't a watcher tantrum less impressive than what the grazer did at 15:55 tho? ^^
She did override a watcher a few videos back and was amazed at it attacking others. But the Grazer sure did do some damage. 🤣
I love your play through of this, hate having to wait for each episode between your other game.
Stealth gameplay used to be called "the whistling murder bush". But be careful, it can become a crutch.

Oh, bless you. No more surprise cliff diving while dodging for me.
@@LieraPlays Be sure to remap it. You will want to use it at times.

There are a few skills that you can learn in the skill tree that will cause more damage to spear strike attacks.

The game scales the enemies to match a preordained program code to Aloy's level.
Pale Waves. No Hippster band. Pop with hmnnnn .... hat was. Take a look. LG
I wandered into The Frozen Wilds by accident. I don’t think it affects the flow of the story that much so I think you can do it wherever you want.
It can be done pretty much separately - but the machines wandering around the valley to get to the passage to "The Cut" mean you *really* need to take care if you're not high enough level.
I don't know if this counts as a spoiler but...if an overridden machine makes the kill, you won't get the EXP, so use wisely.
Red means they have spotted an enemy, ie Aloy..
Don’t go to meridian yet! You got lot’s of loose ends in Nora-land to take care of. Besides, you are under-geared for what’s ahead.

Where’s ratchet and clank rife apart on your channel there’s only clips not properly videos
