I think when they said that daily-scape is less important, they just meant it in that you can just spend money to get the stuff now instead of playing every day.
I appreciate protoxx having the nerve to call out a company for bad practices that gave him an all expenses paid trip to their hq to test out unreleased content not even that long ago 😂
Every single year, every single one of these fiascos people like you say 'Heres hoping they actually listen this time'.... Sorry, they dont care. They aren't going to listen and if they do 'listen' it'll be just that. 'Listen' ...
I'm sure Jagex is super excited that the necromancy ritual XP nerf has been largely ignored since it dropped the same time as the major game changing hero pass.
This is for sure EOC 2.0, mass exodus of players if they don't make it 5-10x faster to max out. The absolute spit in the face. "You don't like training a skill? You use daily challenges to slowly progress? Too bad, that's gone. Give us your credit card if you wanna get the 15% XP boost." There is absolutely no point in trying to complete the pass by playing, you'll end up finishing 85 days in and get the maxed benefits for 5 days before they hit you with the next pass and you've gotta start over. This smells like predatory mobile games, where you either give $200 or spend 1000 hours to complete it...in fact, that's kind of accurate, not even a euphemism at this point. Jagex, if you're reading this: value people's time. We are people, we are not slaves to you or the game. You push people hard enough and they will never come back.
Jagex: You're going to love this update, it's going to make us so much money Playerbase: Umm, you guys do realize you're speaking into the wrong mic Jagex: ... ... ... just roll with it.
75% off stars removed punishing savers. Limiting Keys to 30. Limiting Keys to 10. Daily Keys being reduced/removed? Changing Yak Track into a slower more time consuming grind under another alias. What a ride with Jagex.
What's upsetting is that people like you support these scummy companies. So people can't enjoy games anymore, because they are made for fools like you.
We all saw this coming. If you just afk 1-99lvl it’ll take you 50 days if you play 8 hrs a day. Have fun guys. This is strictly just a predatory BP Edit: this is without doing any dailies or challenges. Still INSANE! You haven’t even touched getting to 99-120 and the xp goes up from 1k to 3k at 99 for just 1 level
"Yo, we heard you don't like FOMO and dailyscape, so we're reducing FOMO and dailyscape by making dailies slower and less rewarding, so you quit and don't have to worry about FOMO and dailyscape".
People with very limited time during the week who logged on just for daily challenges are going to stop logging on all together. That might not be a huge part of the player base but it's going to have an unintended effect in the long run.
People arent usually just 1 or the other but a mix of both. Some weeks I play a lot, some weeks i'll only log in for challenges. Hell, I will go months with only daily logins, just seeing my exp slowly go up with challenges an keys is usually enough to keep me coming back. I'm going for max exp (Im master max atm so not super far off) and sometimes just logging in for challenges is still the only thing that keeps me motivated. Like sure, dailyscape is slow, but it's enough to keep my goals, etc at the peripheries of my brain. Chances are if I didn't log in daily I also wouldn't have periods of grinding.. I just would never think about rs
I am one of those people, and I have plenty of spare time, just not willing to waste hours a day just to do my daily challenges before i can actually get into the meat and potatoes of the game.
I would literally log on do my daily challenges and log off for months. Especially when I was busy with real life stuff when I only had like 10 20 minutes to play.
And it gets worse if you want to buy the cosmetic rewards from the shop. To get everything, you need to basically hit level 214, or get 94 levels/282k points after hitting level 120. This would be 1175 skilling hours, or an additional 13 hours per day of skilling over the course of the event. Realistically, the only people thatll be able to get all the shop rewards are people that use their credit cards, account sharers, and botters.
im sooooo mad about losing the daily challenges... i dont even care about the keys soo much i just cant believe they took away my most favorite part of logging in every day..
I switched to OSRS couple months ago because the path RS3 is taking. I really appreciate the in depth look, backed up by math. Thanks for backing up the community!
@@MoreCreativeThanSpielberg no its not, osrs is far from rs3, the only mtx is buying bonds and rs isnt even a competetive game which doesnt really affect your gameplay, yes it loses itegrity, but not spending money doesnt cost you efficient xp training methods
Funny thing is that this is not the first time they have made goofy updates, i remember how angry people were when Jublix implemented the squeal of fortune. It was just a cash grab.
You couldn’t purchase keys when it first came out. It was just a daily perk of logging in. People started getting angry when they mentioned they would sell spins.
@@BrandonClappr Jagex did that on purpose to trickle in the mtx a bit more slowly. It is even silly to think that they were angry for simply adding in a sell feature, it was mainly because it suddenly became p2w that made people angry and it was only done for greed and they had to change their own policy because it contradicted what the update was doing. People called out Jagexes hypocrisy and rightfully so. There was no other reason to add it besides making more money. Greed is the answer.
Classic till current player. I always just 'nope' the fuck out once jagex shows their true colors. Money hungry company since the gowers handed over the reins..
Another thing i wanna call out here. From the Livestream - it was mentioned that Daily keys were removed from Daily mission, due to the fact that all Promotions on TH was balanced with the daily keys in mind. I would be shocked if Jagex decides to "nerf" the coming TH promos to make the rares/animation/Overrides etc to be easier obtainable due to no keys from daily missions. Cuz if not - it would result in even more Bonds needed to be bought by players to not miss out on good-looking outfits/animation from TH.
This was something I brought up in the last video's comments that if they don't think the junk out of TH/Promo then removing keys was just a pure cash grab with fluff.
it's cosmetics, on e should never have to pay for them in anyway, they should be in the game as free content since they do nothing for a game beside a cosmetic override, the sooner we combat that idea, the sooner we can stop supporting such monetisation bs
@@wtfisallthisbs8056 it's the other way around imo, people shouldnt have to pay for those game changing content buffs.. put in some cool cosmetics that people can spend money on if they like it enough i dont see a problem with that
@@Diego_D7 thing is like this and many other "passes" prove, they hide things that help in the game like xp buffs, resources etc... within cosmetics because they know the number of people willing to pay for useless cosmetics has increased because that is what this current generation spends money on, so they try and squeeze those "like myself" who don't spend anymore money than a subscription to pay for those things that are now included in cosmetics.
"While the battle pass doesn't take too long to complete, it does if you start missing missions" Ah, they reduced dailyscape by increasing the fomo of dailyscape even more
Wow thanks for the breakdown here. I was planning on just ignoring everything around hero pass and don't mind they got rid of the dailies (so much free xp why?) but this change is clearly predatory and crazy that it takes that much time. I have no desire to do 1 hour long missions that i dont want to do, in the middle of the other things im working toward.
1. I could have sworn they said on the livestream something like 'no skips' 2. The track doesn't end at 120 since for the 5k token outfit you need to reach level 133 to earn enough tokens
I don't usually follow the update news. First time I heard of the battle pass is from your previous video and I didn't bother to check farther. I'm playing casually, sometimes play for just 30 minutes a day and sometimes 3-5 hours a day in multiple sessions. I also don't always have the time. The previous daily missions were convenient as it helped me catch up and actually progress for the day when I couldn't sit for long. This time I had to sit for more than an hour to complete a single daily, which is arguably fair. I spent more time getting the resources to complete my daily, but it's still within the realms of "fair" and it does encourage a more active gameplay. Something still felt odd about it, couldn't quite put my finger on it at the moment. I started to notice how unapologetic the monetization is when one of the challenges was to check out the level 120 reward and the shop. The obvious answer to "why this is a challenge?" is for you to be aware of the shop's existence. But check out the beauty of the scam: 1. first step is to scroll all the way to the end of the rewards list ("check out all of these rewards") 2. 120 is the last reward, the same as a skill and anyone knows it takes a lot of time to reach level 120 ("It takes a long time to complete this challenge"). 3. You now scrolled through a lot of attractive rewards. Next step of the challenge is going to the shop with the most attractive item there costs 5000 points. ("Here is where you can buy stuff, and the one you want is expensive"). 4. "You can skip the grind if you pay". They literally walked you through a tutorial on how to P2W if you haven't notice already. And the reward is just too short of gaining anything special. Now we add everything you said in the video and by this point in gameplay we get a feel on just how long it will take to complete the track. The pain is kicking in. I also want to remind you that one of the challenges is completing rituals, an activity which takes around a minute to complete just 1. Another challenge is completing 50 obstacle laps which also takes time for just 1. Some of us barely got the time for a single daily now and we suppose to add two of the most time consuming skills on top of that? Thank god Farming isn't there as well... Lets talk about the beauty of the buffs for a moment. They placed them very early on. So early I was rewarded these buffs the moment I logged in. If the gap between paying users and free users wasn't high before, this time the gap is higher. For merely having a membership you level up faster than free users. Bonus xp solidify this claim farther, but at least you had to apply it first and it only works for skills for your choice, you can also ran out of it. Without bonus xp we level up just as fast as free users, something that isn't true now. The craftsmanship doesn't end there. Remember how there are 120 levels of rewards? Just like skills? Yup, you guessed it: Jagex literally added a P2W skill.
Ive switched to rs3 for a while because I was burnt out from toa in osrs, thanks to hero pass I went back to osrs. Thank you jamflex, you reminded me why I avoided rs3 like the plague before
Played osrs but it's too easy like has to be the easiest MMO in the genre I got toa log beat inferno 2nd try and beat all the dt2 bosses game makes me sleepy use like 1/3 apm than rs3 both games need to do better tbh
I mostly just like rolling on the loot slot machine and enjoy the dopamine hit of "Oh shit, it's a purple" But yeah once you get the mechanics and it "clicks" it becomes braindead easy. It's still challenging learning a new boss and mechanic for the first time
You mention so many good points. I hope it gets changed. For me the interface is too confusing. Its overwhelming. And like you mentioned- I am someone who doesn’t have a job where I can afk rs and in all honesty the missions are not something I really want to be doing with the little time I will have during a normal working week. For e.g my current mission is hunt 500 scarabs. Ok great you are trying to get players to engage with content but why would I want to do that? How much time would that take? All for some cosmetic? No thank you. At the same time, I don’t find the rewards good enough to buy skips. I think the yak track was actually better than this
I would like to express my gratitude to you and all of the other youtubers for your integrity. It would be all too easy to shill for jagex as a content creator but thankfully all of you have the right moral compass #stayawesome
@@Sammysapphirathis is such a shitty take. If they are just cosmetics then sure, but they are literally selling GP with this and it affects the entire RuneScape economy.
They don't listen they constantly push pvp content when only a minority of players want. They keep adding content to the wilderness when only griefers want it and it gets down voted. Frankly till they remove forced pvp osrs is a trash game
Just sucks that OS players absolutely *shouldn't* be listened to on anything. Like there's a line between childtoucher anarchy and hypercapitalist exploitation. Either OS needs to start pushing content against the community's will or RS3 needs to collectivize or it's just going to be nonstop either nothing ever happens because factions of the community are feuding and shit nobody asked for outside of a bunch of out of touch investors who think ripping off WoW will give them the same kind of money that WoW pulls in.
I’ll say it again: The reason this is being called “a major CONTENT update that will change the CORE playing experience” is because their plan is to powercreep those buffs over time to the point that it really does affect the core gameplay experience. Mark my words, by this time next year, there will be a boss release that you can ONLY access by paying for it or some other buff that, currently, sounds absolutely ridiculous to us. It’s coming.
I will take your sentence of "change the core playing experience" even farther: There are 120 levels of rewards in the pass. What also has 120 levels? Skills. What also takes a lot of time to do? Reach level 120 in a skill. Skills are also split between members and free. Jagex literally added major content in the form of skill number 30: the P2W skill.
You know its bad when he doesn't tell us to grab a cup of tea, sit back and enjoy... Its very clear that the main focus of this update is making people buy bonds and keys. It was never about gameplay.
It used up all my challenge skips and Yak Track skips that I had been saving. I leveled up to 45 when I logged in. I took a screen cap if anyone doubts this, but it made me sad. I'd been saving those up for years, and they were just converted without me agreeing to it. At the very least, it would have been nice if they had let us keep those and use for the levels post 99 ***OR*** for a season where we didn't have as much time. This would have allowed a catch up mechanic that we had been saving up for instead of just using them without the players consenting.
Thanks for the video. I was reading the pass last night in game and was thinking that the numbers I was coming up with couldn't be right for advancing through the pass. As someone who plays almost everyday and is able to play at work from time to time, I don't know if I will have enough time to get through it...
The best way to revolt against this without quitting the game: 1. Don't buy TH keys - because this is the real measure. If they see TH key sales went up, then its a big W. 2. Don't claim any "rewards" from Hero Pass. Just let them sit. 3. Don't open the interface for Hero pass. This has to fail from a financial POV. It's the only way they will listen.
Imagine already Netflix subs need to also pay for all the Netflix originals and to really watch all the Netflix specials you need to pay again to prove you can watch 18+ originals... This is how it feels. Not sure if the comparison is the same but it seems like pay, and pay more and a little extra for our full content.
This is probbaly the one thing they could do to lose the majority of their player base in a day. Disgusting how hell bent jagex is in taking its players money
Let's add that they removed all of the old yak track cosmetics AND the shop they introduced for them less than a year ago, and aren't planning to allow any sort of catch-up for previous hero pass cosmetics either. BETTER NOT MISS OUT BETTER GO PLAY GO PLAY MORE DONT STOP NEVER STOP PLAYING
The biggest thing I like about Apex Legends battle pass system is the challenges never disappear, You get a new set each week and sometimes in different weeks there will be two of the same so even if its forcing you to play the game in a way you don't enjoy you can earn double progress
Thanks for speaking up! Shameful from Jagex really, if a piece of content isn’t fun and you think it needs a rebalance, IE, clue scrolls taking one less step or 20% more damage at Zamorak, then fix it. Don’t sell us a band aid. Jagex think we are so stupid, the disconnect between what they think the players want vs what they actually want is extremely worrying.
Thank you, you have always been a voice for the rs community. thank you for calling jagex out like this. but honestly, they wont care that they bring new problems into the game, but they are making insane money just from doing this. a lie yes, but wouldnt be the first time they cheesed us like this and not given a fkkkkk.
Note about Marks of War; It appears to grant Marks of War per Kill / 5 = Hero Points (so Hermod is 12 HP per kill, AG 1 mechanic is 5 HP per kill), up to a total of 200. I noticed that even though I'm gaining xp killing a boss, if you're not gaining MOW anymore, then you get 0 HPs. You'll likely need to do something quick like Kerapac to max out, then go do skilling/killing elsewhere. It'll likely be less than 440 unless you're doing some skilling while bossing (e.g., dissing something). So doing AG 1 mechanic is only worth doing, if you can diss something once per minute.
Thanks for the excellent info, but this is just depressing. I've been playing for over 15 years now, and I've never felt more unwanted by Jagex. I don't no life and I'm not a whale, so I don't matter. :(
Lets play with some math for the average adult. During the week, most adults have 120 hours available. Of the 120, they spend roughly 40 of it sleeping leaving 80 hours. Of the 80 hours, AT LEAST 40 of it is spent working a full time job leaving 40 hours. Of the 40, the average american loses about 4-5 hours to commuting, 8-10 hours doing chores, and roughly 5-6 hours a week to personal health (showering, etc.). This means, most adults have an available 17-19 hours available per work week which is roughly 3-4ish hours per day during the week. This assumes all you do is play runescape. Couple what-ifs: 1. What if you have kids. 2. What if you work 50-60 hours a week 3. What if you have doctors appointments, or external time requirements? Runescape is banking on us soending all of our free time playing this game and paying for rewards when we cant keep up. Runescape has now become fortscape
I quit in March after 6 years (I did play one month leading to necro release but on a brand new acc and I stopped like 2nd day after necro release) and this is exactly what I feared would come when first yak track released. When Jagex (and lovely investors) treats RS3 like a piggy bank that gets filled by players there is no reason to play anymore.
Thank you for making this video. i also noticed how my maxed main had to do the daily challenges for apmost 1 hour yo finish all 3 while my noob ironman was 20 minutes to finish it... Im just going to stop playing. Ima finish my obligations to my clan, with events and stuff and let my account fester. Screw this. I played forever since i was a kid and i can let it go. I don't have cost sunk fallicy. I always knew a day would come where i leave. Where i leave all my 10 accounts to be free in the pastures ❤
I totally agree that Jagex no longer listens to feed-back and suggestions. I used to engage in the forums. Not anymore. The dailies were really cool, they kept my treasure hunter keys tickin over. Sad that has now gone. As for Hero Pass. Not interested at all. But they are placing it in our face while playing. Very annoying. Good on you for voicing your opinion.
This update is terrible, both literally and for the game. We must continue to make our voices heard or begin cancelling our membership until this is resolved!
The COD battle pass is around 100 hrs total and has boosts every few weeks. This basically means you can complete the whole thing in 20 days of playing 5 hrs per day. This is so much worse it is incredible how blind they are.
remember folks if you dont feel like you HAVE to buy the premium pass then your not the target audience! Given how colour by numbers the whole thing is that means its using all the psychologically manipulative tricks that target neurodivergent players directly to get them to spend money they dont have (A great exmaple of this is how every single time you unlock something on the pass it sticks a number 1 on the button to try and convince you to go look at it, increasing your chances of buying the premium pass. As a neurodivergent player myself that notification causes my physical pain to ignore lol). Even if you dont personally think this effects you I can guarantee at least one person on your friends list or your clan will be exploited into buying this garbage so you should be against this in solidarity with your fellow players. This is BY FAR the most disgusting thing jagex has ever pulled
One thing I really hate is "premier" membership. I get they need to make money but it feels misleading to have the good pass rewards locked behind a very specific membership type when I'm sure many people with regular membership were somewhat looking forward to the rewards that they cannot receive now.
This is Jagex's way to 'retain' players to keep the player count high and long each day. I bet Jagex is trying to sell the company so they're creating data to show potential buyers that there are 'active' players each day.
Wow what a breakdown. I wish Jagex could inspire me to buy a membership, or anything at all. Instead they do the opposite, and inspire me to make sure I never, ever, give them money.
I have debating starting OSRS, so I could try sailing when it is released. I think today is the day to start. I am premier, so the hero pass does help me, but I do not like this direction.
@MoreCreativeThanSpielberg OSRS has not been the same for a while. I don't understand why you are crying about a new skill. The style of game play is what's important
this might surprise you but OSRS is run by the same company. If you havent started OSRS yet I'd recommend playing another mmo/game instead tbh. Once RS3 is dead they will start sucking OSRS peoples money with crap like this.
I liked a lot of the video, you bring up a lot of good points. I do think though that someone needs to dig into how long it will actually take if you take into account the time spent doing the missions because you double dip in a lot of areas. Time spent doing the daily mission (skill n kill) also counts towards the weekly, which also counts directly for the track. Also, the one point I disagree with is removing the expiration of daily missions. They are exactly that, daily missions, but maybe reduce the rewards? The whole idea of daily missions (in any game) is to get people to log in daily. We have weekly missions (with bigger rewards) for the people who can't or don't want to log in daily. Final point, I agree some of the buffs are very strong, and some seem useless. The buff area needs to be looked at much more closely for better balancing.

Jagex: You're going to love this update, it's going to make us so much money
Playerbase: Umm, you guys do realize you're speaking into the wrong mic
Jagex: ... ... ... just roll with it.

Limiting Keys to 30. Limiting Keys to 10.
Daily Keys being reduced/removed?
Changing Yak Track into a slower more time consuming grind under another alias.
What a ride with Jagex.
This won’t make me quit. But it’s just upsetting and demotivating. Plain and simple
Not quitting but more like taking a break. Again. 😅😂
I'll be quitting again once I finish necromancy, and things like this make me not want to return to the game anymore.
What's upsetting is that people like you support these scummy companies. So people can't enjoy games anymore, because they are made for fools like you.
We all saw this coming. If you just afk 1-99lvl it’ll take you 50 days if you play 8 hrs a day. Have fun guys. This is strictly just a predatory BP
Edit: this is without doing any dailies or challenges. Still INSANE! You haven’t even touched getting to 99-120 and the xp goes up from 1k to 3k at 99 for just 1 level
I knew Jagex went downhill but wtf is this? 50 days at 8 hours a day? They better fking PAY ME to work on that.
Jagex knows this is the case which is why replacing dailies is so bizarre.
Congratulations Jagex, you've done it again... Hope y'all are proud.
It's absolutely incredible how you gathered all this data in such a short amount of time
A lot of it's being posted to the RuneScape subreddit

Totally agree with everything Protoxx is saying. But sadly the only way Jagex will change it is if the sales for the pass/bonds flops.
All the more reason to not support it
But we all know that there are whales out there who will do just that.
They're turning the entire game into a mobile cash shop.
The game is just a chore that we're paying for. I'll be taking a very long break.
And people that play 18 hours a day.
And people who work from home
im sooooo mad about losing the daily challenges... i dont even care about the keys soo much i just cant believe they took away my most favorite part of logging in every day..
The first ever update where I didn't grab a cup of tea, sit back, relax or enjoy.

@@Brandon_Smallno eoc, no mtx, please explain to me how osrs is like rs3
After playing for 2 years, I've never felt so glad I already quit this September before all of this bs.
Classic till current player.
I always just 'nope' the fuck out once jagex shows their true colors. Money hungry company since the gowers handed over the reins..
Lol just don't do it. Tf
This was something I brought up in the last video's comments that if they don't think the junk out of TH/Promo then removing keys was just a pure cash grab with fluff.
it's cosmetics, on
e should never have to pay for them in anyway, they should be in the game as free content since they do nothing for a game beside a cosmetic override, the sooner we combat that idea, the sooner we can stop supporting such monetisation bs
@@wtfisallthisbs8056 ofcourse i dont deny that much more people will buy such pass if content buffs are in it.. still doesnt change my point/opinion
"While the battle pass doesn't take too long to complete, it does if you start missing missions"
Ah, they reduced dailyscape by increasing the fomo of dailyscape even more
Wow thanks for the breakdown here. I was planning on just ignoring everything around hero pass and don't mind they got rid of the dailies (so much free xp why?) but this change is clearly predatory and crazy that it takes that much time. I have no desire to do 1 hour long missions that i dont want to do, in the middle of the other things im working toward.
1. I could have sworn they said on the livestream something like 'no skips'
2. The track doesn't end at 120 since for the 5k token outfit you need to reach level 133 to earn enough tokens
Protoxx gained SO much respect from the player base with this one video.
He already had it tbf.
@@JoshuaJohnson-ks6bm i know
I don't usually follow the update news.
But check out the beauty of the scam:
1. first step is to scroll all the way to the end of the rewards list ("check out all of these rewards")
2. 120 is the last reward, the same as a skill and anyone knows it takes a lot of time to reach level 120 ("It takes a long time to complete this challenge").
What about HP did they actually think we'd like? I feel like prey being stalked.
Btw, thank you speaking up Protoxx. No bs and straight to the point.
Never have i seen such a united youtube comment section. I really do hope they listen, and good on you for such unwavering integrity Protoxx
Ive switched to rs3 for a while because I was burnt out from toa in osrs, thanks to hero pass I went back to osrs. Thank you jamflex, you reminded me why I avoided rs3 like the plague before

I think the yak track was actually better than this
The year was so good. After my hard long shifts i was looking forward to grind rs. They kinda added a bitter taste to us hard workers..
Changed? More like hopefully removed just like rune pass was
I would like to express my gratitude to you and all of the other youtubers for your integrity. It would be all too easy to shill for jagex as a content creator but thankfully all of you have the right moral compass #stayawesome

Runescape has always been paid 2 win since 2001 with the introduction of membership, lol. What came out first?@@omegahaxors9-11
I will take your sentence of "change the core playing experience" even farther:
There are 120 levels of rewards in the pass. What also has 120 levels? Skills. What also takes a lot of time to do? Reach level 120 in a skill. Skills are also split between members and free. Jagex literally added major content in the form of skill number 30: the P2W skill.
Trillion dollar company that wants more and more. It's sad that they forget it's the players that made Jagex big in the first place.
@@FrostedMike That’s a neat way to look at it. Two skill releases within a month
Truer words have never been spoken about Jagex than your last few sentences of this video.
I doubt that I would go on each day and do dailies anymore, now that daily challanges are gone.
Not even telling us to relax but going right at it. Appropriate
This is the FIRST game that makes me constantly FOMO, burned out and angry with every updates. It is unbelievable i tell you.
Jamflex trying to make moparscape.
We demand a Midschool Runescape!
Thanks for the video. I was reading the pass last night in game and was thinking that the numbers I was coming up with couldn't be right for advancing through the pass. As someone who plays almost everyday and is able to play at work from time to time, I don't know if I will have enough time to get through it...
I really like that even though they show you lots of love you keep it real with them and hold them accountable. This man can't be bought.
The best way to revolt against this without quitting the game:
Well said and well broken down. The info is important.
Generally didn’t care about yak track at all but this kinda got on my nerves.
I love that the company thrives on literal RWT, yet condemn it as much as they do.
if anything, this update just proves that Jagex doesn't respect our time as players.
thank god you made this. hope they listen!
this level of greed is INSANE lmao
Thanks for speaking up! Shameful from Jagex really, if a piece of content isn’t fun and you think it needs a rebalance, IE, clue scrolls taking one less step or 20% more damage at Zamorak, then fix it. Don’t sell us a band aid. Jagex think we are so stupid, the disconnect between what they think the players want vs what they actually want is extremely worrying.
Thank you, you have always been a voice for the rs community. thank you for calling jagex out like this. but honestly, they wont care that they bring new problems into the game, but they are making insane money just from doing this. a lie yes, but wouldnt be the first time they cheesed us like this and not given a fkkkkk.
ill just end up buying 3 bonds in game and going that route, i aint given them no more of my moneys, they get enough through membership per month.
I'm substantially less likely to buy keys if they're getting rid of the daily challenges with 3 extra keys.
Couple what-ifs:
1. What if you have kids.
2. What if you work 50-60 hours a week
3. What if you have doctors appointments, or external time requirements?
Runescape is banking on us soending all of our free time playing this game and paying for rewards when we cant keep up. Runescape has now become fortscape
they don't really expect you to put actual hours into the game. thats when the wallet or credit card comes in
I quit in March after 6 years (I did play one month leading to necro release but on a brand new acc and I stopped like 2nd day after necro release) and this is exactly what I feared would come when first yak track released.
Screw this.

Sucks they are so greedy. Id like to get some of those cosmetics but there is no way im grinding that hard for something I already bought.
Saddest part is that non-premier rewards are tagged as "Free". However, I am paying for membership, so I'm not a F2P player.
you are a good person. thank you.
Facts
Premier members indirectly paid for it. So they have to do it.
One thing I really hate is "premier" membership.
I get they need to make money but it feels misleading to have the good pass rewards locked behind a very specific membership type when I'm sure many people with regular membership were somewhat looking forward to the rewards that they cannot receive now.
they can, if they use 3 bonds 😂
This is Jagex's way to 'retain' players to keep the player count high and long each day. I bet Jagex is trying to sell the company so they're creating data to show potential buyers that there are 'active' players each day.
Wow what a breakdown. I wish Jagex could inspire me to buy a membership, or anything at all. Instead they do the opposite, and inspire me to make sure I never, ever, give them money.
I have debating starting OSRS, so I could try sailing when it is released. I think today is the day to start. I am premier, so the hero pass does help me, but I do not like this direction.
OSRS doesn't like mtx !.Play osrs best game!
Or you could pick up a different game that has modern graphics, better monetization methods and developers who actually care.
@GermanZindro I play other games, and I will be going back to FF14 soon-ish. I like RS for AFK.

Completely agree with your assessment. This update has severely disrupted ironman xp gain through dailies. Not happy with Jagex.
best joke I heard in a while "remove hero pass"
