I have auto rock hammer and I guess I was so focused on movement and not getting hit by anything I realized after 3 of the orb drops I forgot my rock hammer 🤦♂️. 5:52 you should stand 1 tile further north, so you don't get meleed by dawn when off-ticking 7:30 you can get 4 whip hits in if you move back a few tiles after the 3rd attack and run back in for a 4th attack when your attack cooldown is ready otherwise good guide
Great guide, im a nooby uim with 80s stats, rune cbow and dscim , and I manage to beat em with your tile markers, just doing that trick over and over. getting close to getting 2 kills per inv now (cheese potato ftw).
Amazing guide! Really liked the intro letting new players know about the chest/death mechanics! Only thing I'd suggest is timestamps/guidelines in the vid. I only came to see the weapon for instance. I did watch it all though :P Just done this boss before I just wanted a refresh with the new weapons. Would fang be better if you have it over Blade?
I've been using fang/blowpipe with amethyst darts and gotten 1m49s fastest kill so far in 17 kc. Seems to work here about the same as most places, pretty consistent and definitely not bad. I think blade and probably tent whip too are a bit better on average though, according to the wiki. Probably depends on the rest of your gear as well.
@@rh3ttj Yee I was using the same set up. Just have the choice of Blade/Fang and it feels better to use Blade there. Its not far off though for the price difference for the mains out there.
Great guide, though I cant imagine doing this with thralls instead of alchs. Its a short trip but all the drops are alchable or stackable. Thralls are fine for chasing speed tasks ofc but if youre just doing a chill slayer task I'd def keep alchs instead.

fun fact to all the newcomers to OSRS! There used to be TWO lightning phases: one you did before Dusk's phase and one after completing it. The orbs on the ground during Dawn phase 2 also used to make you take forced dmg that scaled based on how long they were out. Tiny orbs did 2 dmg, mediums did 10, and larges did a whopping 20. If you were lucky you took 6 dmg. More often you took 14 or 22. If you were SUPER unlucky with orb placement you would occasionally take 32 guaranteed Hitpoints of damage. Thank god they removed those mechanics. This is the first Slayer boss in the game and took so long because of that.
This setup shown is going for a pb I usually just bring some tank melee like justi and whatever range gear like blessed dhide/ karils. Can stay a good while 10+ before I full of loot and out of either food/ prayer pots. Less switching is better the phases are too short to make use a bgs/ Dwh spec. Another prayer pot will do you better than an Sgs will and just use your tbp specs on the third phase to beat the orbs. If you can’t get 10 kills per trip doing this boss is a complete slog for 5-600k an hour. Karambwans are plenty good. Super combat and ranging potion are necessary or else you’re not gonna get more than 20 kph. Expect 30-35 unless you’re absolutely maxed then 35-40 is possible. Avg kill for a base 90’s cb is 2.15 seconds so 30 kills per hour is realistic with banking and consistency. Less switches is better I do 6 pieces max. Any more and u won’t get 3 hits in before he does the blinding attack at the start of the 2nd phase consistently. If you’re consistently dealing with 2 blinding attacks on 2nd phase and can never beat the orbs on the third you should do more training because 3 minute kills aren’t worth it at that point and the amount of extra damage you’ll take will have your trips cut down to 4-5 per trip.
Great video! I wouldn't really call this a guide with mid lvl gear guide since most people at "mid lvl" wouldn't really have/ be able to afford most of this gear. The boss mechanics part is spot on. Very well thought out and clear. Gear is a bit misleading. AWESOME guide tho!

i thought this was an awesome guide. apparently no one listens or saw when u spoke about the mid game gear like fighter torso & blessed dhide lol. most of these nublets probably hang out in nmz and have untrimmed cooking capes and still haven't even finished all their quests. keep it up man
i feel like the person making this blew the stat requiremnts out of proportion im doing this with 80s and worse gear then his cheap gear alts and im getting 3 min kills with blowpipe and whip
Stat requirements are a bit ambiguous. I tend to favor higher stats than necessary in my guides to accommodate players who may not be quite as capable. It’s certainly possible to do this with fewer stats (and gear) but imagine the backlash if I said: “ all you need for gg’s is 60 strength and range a d scim and a rune crossbow!” I find it’s better to recommend higher stats especially for learners as it gives a buffer for mistakes.

It is the runelite plugin called “boosts information” my settings are: - display boosts: Both - compact display: checked - next buff change: boosted -next rebuff change: never - boost threshold: 0 If I didn’t mention a setting it is unchecked.
@thor-cx4pk nah mid level would be like a set of verracs or a fighter torso with obby legs. I’d call Bandos gear more mid-late since it’s top 3 for bis melee most places. That ‘mid gear’ is a solid 75m melee set up, most mid level players don’t have 75m to throw around, with an additional around 50-60m in range gear… show me one mid level player that has 130m+ to throw at gear casually lmfao

Mid level starts around level 70 in all combat when you’re running barrows runs more efficiently, and starting doing wilderness bosses, and ends when you’re running stuff like toa, CG, and cox for example. Not a single one of the people doing that have the money to spend 130M plus on gear. Mid level players have at best 10m-100m of bank value. You’re past just mid game when you are throwing well over 100M on gear

Not quite max melee, mage, or prayer yet at the time of this recording 😄. That being said stats > gear and are virtually free (except prayer and magic) so get to killing some ammonite crabs and NMZ and this will be 100% doable with the gear I showed!

Is it better to use rock thrownhammers for the dawn take-downs or does it not end up saving any ticks?
It saves time since you can hit dawn from a distance but they can be more expensive.

Easy boss with maxed stats including ranged and magic. Quick kills imo super duper easy lol
