I gotta say that I am a returning player, my account is over 10 years old, lvl 98 and when I got back into runescape (rs3 as it is now) I was free and mind you I was always a member. So this morning I became a member again and first thing I had pop up was the necromancy quest line! Was awesome as I was def wanting to get thst started!
I'm a returning player and I haven't played since 2018 and I feel severely lost, lol. Me playing Souls games made me miss the online interaction I had with players online. So, I'll slowly be opening up to Runescape again and this has been a helpful video!
as a VERY VERY old school runescape player just returning and picking the game back up after a very long hiatus i wanna say thank you for putting this together. to give an idea of when i started lol, you could pvp anywhere and mythral was best items in the game lol
Thank you for this. Is The Death Of Chivalry still broken at higher levels? Are there any other quests that I should do at lower level as to not get softlocked?
Necromancy has broken the game for me. I just casually got to 99 recently and then bought all t95 pieces and perked them out. I beat all my best times with best in slot ranged gear with little experience in the necromancy style. It kind of feels like it has made other styles redundant. I love the style it's in dire need of rebalancing though in my opinion. I don't think other styles need buffing I think necromancy needs a nerf. Although it is fun doing a 1 shot on high end slayer creatures.
The game takes time, enjoy it. I have been playing for over a decade and have never purchased any MTX. I play casually on the weekends and for about an hour after work during the week. I have 64m bonus XP and 20b bank. I feel like i had more enjoyment in the beginning when i was just unlocking everything for the first time. Also dont burn yourself out, its a game that will be there tomorrow, go outside and do other things :)
Quit the game at 2022, last year found out it was hijacked, not sure what's going on in my account, got it back but haven't logged in to check, maybe I will try to rebuild everything from scratch if I happen to play it haha.
tbh necromancy is not terribly difficult to find by yourself, its in draynor, a very popular low level area that quite a few quests take you in that direction, notably rune mysteries and vampire slayer
Guide should be yearly focused like a series. (Which I did notice) Not bringing up curses and cannonball making. I'm just returning after year break, but good guide inityeah
I haven’t played since it first came out, looks much cleaner now! I just had surgery on my arm and can’t use it for atleast a month, is it playable with one hand? Can I become competitive or am I so far behind now? Can it be played in a party, my wife may join me.
I've had my account for like 15yrs now, I used to play it properly but for saying the last 10 years I've just done the daily log ons, I've bought keys if there is a special offer and I've got 99 in everything pretty much but have no idea how to play the game now lol it's too overwhelming to try and relearn it all even though I want to
18:08 ive been playing for the last 8 days and ive been leveling magic, invention, strength and my necromency is still lvl 1 im going to start soon but yep new content can wait i just found about the abyss and halberd so now its invention mega xp time
Today I recovered an account I made when I was younger and lost access too after losing a PC to play again, last logged in 4195 days ago Total wealth 152m feels good
Good video mate - but it's still too detailed and assumes too much knowledge for people like me - I've not played in 10/15 years so it's too much for me haha
As someone who was a previously comped player quit around the time of divination release...Do you think it would be better to go back to my old account or start a clean slate to learn everything?
Depends on your preference, if old acc feels overwhelming i'd say just start fresh, the more you play the more the game will just throw free xp at you anyway to help you grind up. But if you've got a bit of quest progression etc on the old character i'd say just pick him back up and have some fun!
do quests, get free treasure hunter keys. Some of the stuff from those can be used to fast level certain skills, or sold for fast money. Remember my days in the past took forever to get up to 6m gp. 1 day in I was sitting at 3m gp doing this.
Also I'm wanting to play on Steam Deck, do people do that and is it straightforward? Especially could I transfer a UI from a desktop to the SD so I wouldn't have to struggle setting one up on the SD smaller screen.
I played from 2004 to 2010 then had like 10 years off. When I returned it was soo hard. Even now I still find it difficult and usually just stick to what I know. I recently had 5 months off and left just before Necromancy, now returned and scratching my head lol.
Im in abott the same time frame as yourself except Im finding it too easy. I actually abandoned my original account that I used to beast at doing Slayer. I remember it took me about over a year to get Slayer. I started all over again and just for the hell of it decided just to do a level 3 skiller and got my 99 slayer in less than 4 months.
XP is really easy now. like they want you to get 99's and progress asap. I remember when having 99 was an achievement. I got 99 everything very quickly recently and it doesn't feel like an achievement lol @@itzmebytememaw
The quests aren't very accessible when you really look at it take. So many steps to find them/start them, and they changed a lot of them so drastically its offputting to anyone returning.
Yoooo init! I stopped playing last year and I am considering returning soon, bond prices are sky high but I reckon it's doable with 7m per day profit so no big worries for end game player? Also it seems word on the street is necromancy is OP, should I focus on that? It looks exciting, but Is end game necromancy a big step up from end game ranged gear? (SGB and ECW?) or even mage ? An update from you or anyone in the community would be much apreciated :D Cheers and happy scapin'
Necromancy is busted bro, and your gear progression literally comes from you just dedicating a bit of time to the skill. If you're gonna start necromancy, a small suggestion to start is when you're doing your gear upgrade tasks, do the communion rituals, not the combat, the souls from the rituals give you really good necromancy perks further down the line, so the earlier you start progressing it the better.
Joining a clan is a toss up. On the one hand you do now have access to people who know things but on the other hand I have found that it sometimes makes players feel bad as they are left to sit and listen to everyone having fun together in events they cannot go to.
Clan avatar boost is double edge, because if you are very casual maybe only have 1hr /day or less clan avatar isn't going to matter. 30mins to cap is more hurtful then helpful due to limited time. Plus if you are type get busy and maybe forget, lose fealty got start over. It's huge part of what what ruin rs version of clans for me personally ( years ago), i do admit clans themselves are helpful for helping you answer question and find mates to join you in activities. Worry about avatar and capping i feel are just part of toxic behavior of daily scape, 6% only matter if you rushing to 120/200mil. getting 99 is easy overall, you be lacking and earning so many perks/boost that 6% wont matter. As earlier and later remarks talk about not falling into efficient and remember it's a game. Clans are good for people not exp buff.
As a osrs player thats been gaming sone rs3. Theres alot going on. Runelite has some QOL features that would improve rs3. Rs3 has a few QOL over osrs as most the skills are less clicky. The GE is less active on rs3 so quests are very ironman like having to source the supplies.
I’ve got 1.3b gp and still refuse to buy a t95 lantern idk why but I’ve never had this much I only just started pvming and got it all from ed1 in a week
Hello, I'm a returning player from way back in like the late 2000s early 2010s. I know back then you were able to transfer your character to RS3 when it came out before OSRS was a thing. But now it looks like im seeing, looking online, that you can only play an old character on RS3 and that if you want to play OSRS you have to start a fresh character. Basically I'm asking if I log into my old account, will I be able to choose to play either one, or will I only be able to continue my old character on RS3 and not OSRS having to start fresh on OSRS. Thanks for any info as it's hard to find this exact answer online before I actually login and see if they even show how my character might exist or not.
OSRS is considered a completely different game, so you'll need to start over if you play osrs, it's worth it! for RS3 you can use your old account with no issues
I wish I merged my account in 2023. I joined before they nerfed ED3 and in my FIRST run there I got the Ranged pet and the Hitpoints pet. Within 10 seconds of eachother. Can't even access that account anymore i'm so mad. I literally paid for my OSRS membership with RS3 bonds.
Same! I got back on recently and found that player owned house and miscellenia are obsolete now and I got sad! My old account had 99 invention, and several 98's, account got hacked by my ex and I now have to start over!
Just got falsely perm banned on osrs on my max account... so maybe looking coming back to rs3... gutted about it plus they denied my appeal so all that time is lost...
i just got 25 thousand gold from a friend whose been playing alot. is there any items i can buy to help thru progression, either making me stronger or making lvl skills easier?
In settings - gameplay - combat or something or other there should be an option to whether you manually press every button, or use the 2012 "Revolution" system where your abilites are used in the order you've set them up on, on your bar. Then in the same settings - gameplay - action bars area there should be a way to change your keybinds to easily press the buttons you want to!
Early early game: first 50 hours, you've done most of the f2p stuff Middle early game: around 100 quest points, 40ish most stats Late early game: tier 60 most combat styles, start to unlock some side content through skills Early mid game: you have vanquish and start being able to do early bosses Mid mid game: you start understanding abilities, don't really use defensives. You have invention and priff. Late mid game: you start having decent perks, and gwd1 armours for all styles. You love your sunspear. Early late game: you're getting close to max, and most of your goals are sidegrades like arch relics and such. You're close to quest cape or have it. Mid late game: you are maxed and are pretty much only working on getting mats for endgame perks. You most likely have t85+ weapons for each style. Late late game: you can do anything and are chasing the very best in slot things.
If the release of a new quest takes away your completionist trimmed cape, that is an endgame account, "endgame content" means you have mostly BIS weapons, armour, and perks, and can atleast kill every boss in solo or groups of 4-12, that's endgame content.
Too bad my likely older than 15 year account was banned for interacting with a marked person or something like that, Twas a mod/admin manual ban that they said has no appeal. Last time I trade with a random person if I do come back
@CulturedHeaven yes it is, you can get a bond in game and it's 2 weeks on membership. Its very pricey in game but definitely possible to get without spending irl cash.
Every once in a while i will get the bug to try rs3 then i log in see 800 different things pop up on my screen, its not the changed combat or new features of the game, feel like a lot of bloat in the UI.
Anyone else feels that necro was harshly nerfed? I can no longer hit constant 20k-30k with ease. I was able to get 14 sec vindi kills with it now it takes 40-50 secs using revolution ofcourse also casting invoke death.
@@Geo-Media the thing is that with that amount of necrosis it was an easy 30k hit, easy 20-30k hit with skulls and all that with just lvl99 and olvds now I'm full t95, lvl 120 and barley even hit 16k if I'm lucky once in a while.
@@Geo-Media that's why I'm so bugged as well with this. B4 I only had t90 tank necro and t90 weps too with 99 necro. Like come on where my CRIT chance from 120.
So y'all's DMG mindset is way way sqewed. Listen to what you're saying. You're upset you can't kill a boss in 10 seconds? That isn't even what's meant to happen and like only the top players I'm sure are doing that.
I definitely am guilty of saving my cash and not using it. I go through a cycle now of spend big on skilling, and do some money maker on the side while selling my stuff. Don't fall victim to lower your prices on the GE because that's the fear I held onto for so long. Patience is key and you can make money/minimal losses doing big grinds.
Everyone claims necromancy is user friendly compared to othee combat styles and I dont see why. I played the tutorial for it yes but the skill as a whole, is alot more confusing than the other combat styles. Other combats I google a rotation and click a monster and buy new armor after levling. Necro has soul collection and rituals and you gotta do mini game type quests to collect pies and other crap to upgrade your armor etc etc. Not a fan of the skill. Hense why mines 20 lol and every other combat is at 90+. I started again 7 weeks ago.
It's only really confusing when you first start using it. At higher levels, equipment upgrades are significantly cheaper and easier to obtain than other combat styles. It is also pretty well rounded with built in sustain and aoe. The other styles work well enough though so you're fine with using them if that's what you prefer.
@@zaknafein254 I can see it has the best sustain and DPS but for a video for new and returning players, its not exactly new user or returning user friendly in my opinion. I started playing in 2001 and have quit and returned several times throughout the years and jumping into necro felt strange and difficult. I still dont fully understand it. Ill have to watch a guide to better understand the skill or something. Invention is also rough to into but thats a different beast all together.
@@julianbeard5400 It's not really all that confusing though. I took a super long hiatus (since before the death changes lmao, that was a curveball) and came back when the christmas event started. I picked up necromancy and it was very self explanatory. The tutorial, tasks, and quests all lay it out very simply. You can level it through rituals, combat, or a mix of both. It's fun and unique compared to the other combat styles. Just because you found it hard to understand doesn't mean it's not new player friendly, no offense. The other combat styles are actually way more unfriendly to beginners due to the combat rebalance.
I have 1.5B GP In my bank. I have all the equipment I need. I'm not listening to your advice "spend it to level up" You can level up with small amounts of GP.. 33M for 99 agility w silver hawk boots. Maybe my RS character is ✡️

Hello! I’m a OSRS player, and have been since 2012, but I’ve been kinda interested in checking RS3 out just to try out some different skills that aren’t in osrs. Thanks for making this! (It’s the most recent professional guide I can find.)
Thanks for making this. I last played about 4 years ago, and the amount of changes is fantastic. And to see they have such long-term plans for the future of Gielenor
Hopefully you've caught up! I'm coming back after about a year and there's always a slight learning curve
@@chriscarnage9467I’m the same and I’m so confused. Just been catching lobby’s and running to the bank like the good old days 🤣
as a VERY VERY old school runescape player just returning and picking the game back up after a very long hiatus i wanna say thank you for putting this together.
to give an idea of when i started lol, you could pvp anywhere and mythral was best items in the game lol
I'm a returning player from way back when normal runescape was still old school runescape so I've got a lot to relearn.
Thank you for this.
Is The Death Of Chivalry still broken at higher levels?
Are there any other quests that I should do at lower level as to not get softlocked?
Start Anachronia ASAP.
It can do the collecting while you work on other stuff.
It requires time.
This is a huge tip! Even if you only check on it once a week, it'll pay off in the future!
I'm just returning, having left shortly after archeology was released... This is VERY helpful, thank you so much for the video.
I have augmented ascension crossbow and I completely forgot how I got them, last I played is 2017 and I just came back to it today
Do note, those are not *micro* transactions. Those are transactions, nothing micro there
🤣
Didn’t think I’d return to this Guthix forsaken, but here I am
I've had my account for like 15yrs now, I used to play it properly but for saying the last 10 years I've just done the daily log ons, I've bought keys if there is a special offer and I've got 99 in everything pretty much but have no idea how to play the game now lol it's too overwhelming to try and relearn it all even though I want to
While I agree necro should be used I fear if new players start with necro they won’t ever use the other styles, or use the other styles very rarely
I play on mid graphics and I’m hooked I would never stop playing if I could play on ultra
18:08 ive been playing for the last 8 days and ive been leveling magic, invention, strength and my necromency is still lvl 1 im going to start soon but yep new content can wait
i just found about the abyss and halberd so now its invention mega xp time
the wow token is like the bond
My last login was 3080 days ago 😅 I signed in, checked my inventory and money and I’m poor af 😂 I’m lvl 90 though
bro how did you get the subscribe button to highlight after saying it? Is that a new option, I subscribed to see your reponse lol
Today I recovered an account I made when I was younger and lost access too after losing a PC to play again, last logged in 4195 days ago
Total wealth 152m feels good
Good video mate - but it's still too detailed and assumes too much knowledge for people like me - I've not played in 10/15 years so it's too much for me haha
I just came back after a year started a fresh account and managed to get 99 prayer in RS3 in 8 days 😅
do quests, get free treasure hunter keys. Some of the stuff from those can be used to fast level certain skills, or sold for fast money. Remember my days in the past took forever to get up to 6m gp. 1 day in I was sitting at 3m gp doing this.
Also agree with spending it. *me buying arrows. Clicks Max, clicks 20% more 4 times* Confirm. buy money! lol
Depending on a specific change in another mmo I am playing, I am thinking about coming back and making a new ironman account. Thanks for the tips!
rs3 is worth it if you give it a chance! I'm a newer player with about a month playing, 15 hours a day. its addicting 100%
first time ive logged in since early 2000s. I ran from lumbridge to varrock and ran straight past it didnt even notice. WTF happened to runescape lol
"Necromancy is beginner friendly"
Jagex: " Ok f2p gets 2 spells..."
An update from you or anyone in the community would be much apreciated :D
Cheers and happy scapin'
I like the wiki instead of Reddit it helps a ton
Alright found the best video to understand this complex game easily
Logged in. Account was hacked lost full bandos and godswords. Im over level 100. No idea what to do lol
We do have alt1 which is far less baked in than runelite but is still helpful.
Very interesting for Necromancy to be considered the best starter experience because of the meme about RS3 being a dead game.
Well you still care since you commented on a RS3 video so welcome to the fam i guess🎉
It's possible to play my PC account on mobile?
Yes
New player this video helped me a lot
I wish I merged my account in 2023. I joined before they nerfed ED3 and in my FIRST run there I got the Ranged pet and the Hitpoints pet. Within 10 seconds of eachother. Can't even access that account anymore i'm so mad. I literally paid for my OSRS membership with RS3 bonds.
I want to play 2011 RuneScape again :(
Ayy nice video!
12:54 my clan is Trade Wars if anyone wants to join!
Broooooo it's Kurunda Tera from the guild haha funny seeing you here bro ^^
I bought full Bis magic/range just to do dagg kings T.T
runescape 3 2012 was the best i wish i play it....
I haven't played since high school in like 2014 and just restarted, man im lost🤣
how did you set your UI like that?
i just got 25 thousand gold from a friend whose been playing alot. is there any items i can buy to help thru progression, either making me stronger or making lvl skills easier?
Sadly 25k isn’t all that much, so just buy what you think you will need and just vibe
1:57 what teleport animation is that?
as a new player my skill mostly activate themself, I saw you put it and use it from bar is there a settings for that?
In settings - gameplay - combat or something or other there should be an option to whether you manually press every button, or use the 2012 "Revolution" system where your abilites are used in the order you've set them up on, on your bar. Then in the same settings - gameplay - action bars area there should be a way to change your keybinds to easily press the buttons you want to!
I dont even know how to train one combat stat at a time anymore. How do i do that?
Did you figure it out?
Can you define “end game”?
Early early game: first 50 hours, you've done most of the f2p stuff
Middle early game: around 100 quest points, 40ish most stats
Late early game: tier 60 most combat styles, start to unlock some side content through skills
Early mid game: you have vanquish and start being able to do early bosses
Mid mid game: you start understanding abilities, don't really use defensives.
Last time I trade with a random person if I do come back
Comment for TH-cam algorithm!
Is the game worth playing for non member?
It is still worth playing for sure, you just wont get as much content from it. But for FREE it still has quite a lot to offer :)
@@InitYeah and later it's possible to get member without real money right ?🤔
@CulturedHeaven yes it is, you can get a bond in game and it's 2 weeks on membership. Its very pricey in game but definitely possible to get without spending irl cash.
How to start rs3 :
Buy bonds sell for 126m then use your card to spin for exp and never level a skill at all!
Every once in a while i will get the bug to try rs3 then i log in see 800 different things pop up on my screen, its not the changed combat or new features of the game, feel like a lot of bloat in the UI.
Played RuneScape 20 years ago. Would rather go to wow now
Anyone else feels that necro was harshly nerfed? I can no longer hit constant 20k-30k with ease. I was able to get 14 sec vindi kills with it now it takes 40-50 secs using revolution ofcourse also casting invoke death.
I normally hit 22-27k with 8+ necrosis stacks. Without them I hit 12-18k and that's all with overloads
@@Geo-Media the thing is that with that amount of necrosis it was an easy 30k hit, easy 20-30k hit with skulls and all that with just lvl99 and olvds now I'm full t95, lvl 120 and barley even hit 16k if I'm lucky once in a while.
@akinoridonde oh wow. I'm in all 90 gear and 90 weps. It's wild that your not hitting higher numbers in better gear than me. Now I'm lost as to why
Defo should of watched this before spending £80 boosting.......
The #1 problem with Runescape is no WASD to move or controller support.
Without those I will never play Runescape.
2100 total ironman. Havent played in 2 years. Please dont make want to start playing again 😭❤
just a heads up, for f2p players, were allowed only 1 accoung for rs3 and osrs each. extra accounts = $$$$
Best tips I can give you its dont waste money on this game and play Old school RuneScape for Ironman for the best gaming experience.
I just want my max cape back
i came back after 2017, I am so lost
They are trying to make it a little like an other game : The Elder Scrolls Online .

Returning player, my account of 10 years was deleted bacause they thought i was a bot. Bs
omg rs3 is so complicated for new comers omg
Better off playing old school, this is trash.
Returning players? My main has been abandoned for over a decade.
is there pvp in rs3?
Yes but both players have to opt in, so basically it doesn’t exist.
I have 1.5B GP In my bank. I have all the equipment I need.
I'm not listening to your advice "spend it to level up"
You can level up with small amounts of GP.. 33M for 99 agility w silver hawk boots.
Maybe my RS character is ✡️
If you have 1.5b and all the equipment you need, this video wasn't for you :)
Grats though :D
wanted to get back into the game, pc got flagged for "botting" or some shit back in 2022 apparently, last time i touched runescape was pre pandemic, and tht was osrs... trash company, never bothering with this game again
Just dispute it. I love runescape. Long time player on and off for over 15 years. It is alot different now but still an amazing game!
