    As a Caribbean, this is huge. We grew up being taught that, we were captured and sold by our own people. They care nothing for us despite the Pan African talk. That Kenyan sending its elite forces despite what’s going on at home in Kenya and over the continent is historic. Haiti was the first to be free and has suffered for it, being described as a hell on earth. The Caribbean has been trying to fight off guns/drug trafficking and corruption from the since the beginning. Now we have hope, the training from the GSU and help from the Afriexum bank has been a life saver. Blessings for your fight with the IMF, they do the same here in my country 🇧🇧. Asante sana kwa kaka na dada zetu.

      @@alastairjhunter3666 You might be right, Ruto is definitely a talented politician but two things can be true at the same time. The world is complex, I can only tell you what it means to us. Nobody was getting into the Caribbean without dealing the US, they control the Caribbean. Not just about Ruto but to all the Kenyan people you have given us hope in Caricom, it is a fact. Please look up “Port of Prince: A capital under seige”. My country Barbados, Jamaica, Bahamas and other Caricom nations are joining a fight that was un-winnable before the GSU. I’m lucky enough to be in East Africa often (TZ, KY and UG), I understand the issues a bit. But we needed action (not just pan African talk). Ruto and the Kenyans gave us a fighting chance. Keep pushing Ruto to deal with the IMF but for context, Kenya debt is around 67% of GDP; Barbados is over 125%. What do you think the IMF is doing to us?

      @@alastairjhunter3666 Ninajua but nobody was getting to the Caribbean without working with the US. We’re grateful no matter how it came. Our Caricom brothers have been suffering for so long, with the GSU will finally have a chance. We’ll be joining the fight (Barbados, Jamaica, rest of Caricom). The training and equipment will make us stronger. President Ruto and all Kenyans have and deserve our thanks. One love, one Africa..

    The Kenyan GSU police unit has always been a special forces unit, it was created by necessity, after a coup attempt in 1982. They are not trained by the United States and Britain, the United States and Britain send their soldiers to train with the GSU in Kenya. The GSU have their own curriculum, they don't need the US and Britain, they partner with many countries for terrain training, they even work with Russian Spetznas and Chinese special forces.

      Mwaka wa 2004 walimwondoa rais aliyeanza kuitisha fedha za fidia kutoka Ufaransa.
      Kwa hivyo tunatumika kama mamluki.

      So Haitians should not get anybody to help them against gangs right?

    • @panafrican.nation
      @panafrican.nation หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@raanajak471 They should get help. But the right kind of help. These missions haven't just started. In the 90s a 25,000 strong mission (including from multiple Caribbean countries) was sent. Some normalcy was restored, but just because the US & France won't address fundamental issues, this "help" is just a bandage that unravels.
      When the people elected a president democratically after that, the US & France sponsored a coup against him, precipitating the current issues. Another mission led by Brazil was sent. But the president Jovenal Moise who was elected was assassinated, and a person suspected to be involved (according to reports), Ariel Henry, was imposed as PM.
      The crisis was heightened because the people didn't want Ariel Henry. Had parliament etc not delayed the mission, we'd have upheld an imposed, unelected leadership. But in the interim, the US had to concede that Ariel Henry had to step down.
      The problem here is that all your arguments are based on a pro-Ruto stance. So you most probably have no consideration whatsoever for victims of the Kiambaa massacre, who Ruto threatened on live TV in 2005, and in 2009 he dismissed the incident as an "accidental fire, during preparation of lunch". No empathy. No visits. Nothing.
      On the basis of temporary political choices, you don't pay keen attention to possibly permanent consequences, downplay them or are simply OK with them.
